Nov 16, 2016

Hello everyone.  I am a 71 year old Mother of one girl and Grandmother of two girls, all of them grown adults now.  I've been an ardent and devoted fan of Queer as Folk since the very first airing of Season 1, Episode 1, which I had to watch after seeing the British version shortly before the American version was aired.  And although the British version was truly wonderful, nothing could have prepared me for the magnificent talent of the actors who took on the American version, or the compelling storylines they played out.  Eventually I discovered the world of fanfics after my girls gave me my first computer, and i've never looked back.  I started as an avid reader of QAF fanfiction and was finally convinced by fellow QAFers to try my hand at my own fanfics.  That was more than a decade ago and nothing has given me more pleasure than writing my stories and hearing from readers who seemed to enjoy them.  I've been dormant with my writing for the last few years due to a number of reasons, but I do hope that some of my old work will still find an audience that likes what I've written.

As for my personal life... I've grown up all over the United States until the age of 19, when I settled in the Dallas, Texas area, where I remained for 48 years.  About 3 1/2 years ago I finally made a move with my girls to Pennsylvania, and am now very happily living with my youngest Granddaughter in Lancaster.  Oh yes, I also became a devoted fan of another television series called 'Spartacus'.  There is a loving gay couple called Agron and Nasir that have also inspired me to write fanfics for their characters and you will find one cross-over story involving this couple with Brian and Justin.   Hopefully there will be more stories in my future, but only time will tell.  Thank you for checking me out.

It Had To Be You New! by mandagrammy

Rated: A • 5 Reviews Liked

Brian and Justin look back on their feelings for each other a few months after Justin moves to New York City and they come to a mutual conclusion as to those feelings.  This is another of my short stories that likes to try and get inside the thoughts of our beloved Brian and Justin.  Hope you enjoy it.  I apologize for any errors as this one was never beta'd.  However, I do want to thank my friend, Gerri, for her thoughtful banner.

A Royal Wedding New! by mandagrammy

Rated: YA • 4 Reviews Liked

Folks, those of you who know me know that I am an incurable romantic.  I originally wrote this story while being inspired by the wedding of Prince William and Catherine.  The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan reminded me of the story and I decided it was time to post it here too.   I hope you will enjoy this little bit of fluff and fantasy as much as I enjoyed imagining it.  Sorry that I never got the chance to have someone make a banner for me for this one.

Reunited New! by mandagrammy

Rated: A • 4 Reviews Liked

I was inspired by an old song of a favorite group of mine from the past named Peaches and Herb.  The words of this song made me think of how our boys would feel after being separated for a whole month....Justin in New York and Brian in the Pitts.  Hope you enjoy their thoughts as they work it all out.  I owe a debt of gratitude to Eka for the banner and Pat for her beta skills.  Thank you so much girls.

The Ghosts of Babylon New! by mandagrammy

Rated: YA • 10 Reviews Liked

Way back in October I wanted to post this story to KD but circumstances prevented me from doing so.  I loved writing this story and I've grown impatient waiting for Halloween to arrive again, so I've decided to go ahead and post it now.  Consider it a late Halloween or early Halloween gift.  LOL!  Anyway,  for this Halloween story I thought I would skip a few generations and see what happens to Brian's Great-Grandson when he decides to buy the old building that once housed the Babylon Club in order to revive it, bringing it back to its once magnificent Dance Club Glory!  But Wait!!!  Could the place really be haunted?  And if so, what spirits are lingering there and what do they want?  Let's find out?  Many thanks to my terrific beta, Judy for her last minute help with my story, and also to my Granddaughter for the very cool banner.  Enjoy!

Apologies by mandagrammy

Rated: YA • 7 Reviews Liked

Brian is missing Justin far too much after sending him away to NYC. He decides to sit down and put his thoughts on paper and then sends the letter to his lover in order to make clear how he is feeling. Justin responds with a letter of his own that makes just as clear how he feels about Brian's letter.

The idea for this story came to me when I was watching the scene where Brian was emphasizing his 'no apologies, no regrets' theory of life. Mind you, I realize it is stretching the imagination a little in this day and age for anyone to write a letter longhand and send it through the postal service when we have the internet and cells, but I hope you will suspend disbelief in this case.

Wrong Place, Wrong Time by mandagrammy

Justin left a ranting Cody behind in Hobbs' driveway, once he decides he's gotten his revenge on the cowardly man who bashed him.  He returns to Brian, and they celebrate the end of that frightening chapter of Justin's life.  But is it really the end?  What if it didn't go the way it had in the series?  Thank you to Becky for her wonderful beta work and Eka for the perfect banner.

It Was Only A Dream by mandagrammy

I would like to offer you a solution to the mishap (of course this is a matter of opinion) that the producers of QAF called Season 5. This is my version of what caused the Season. It is a What If. I hope you will enjoy it. I promise the ending will be nothing like our last scene during the actual show.

I wish to thank my dear friend, Judy for her beta skills, and my dear Granddaughter, Amy for the lovely banner.

Debbie and Vic Grassi: A Family Tale by mandagrammy

Rated: YA • 4 Reviews Liked

For a change of pace, I decided to center a story around our favorite Mother, Debbie, and her beloved Brother, Vic.  In this story, Vic has passed away and Debbie is devastated.  While trying to deal with her loss, her mind travels back in time and relives the memories of her life with Vic, centering on that special Summer that she became pregnant for the one and only time in her life.  I hope you will enjoy my version of Debbie's interesting life.  The beta work is thanks to the wonderful Becky and the perfect banner by the fantastic Eka.

Trying On the Rules For Size by mandagrammy

This is my version of what occurs in Season 2, Episode 6 right after Brian and Justin agree to live together while they both abide by a set of rules.  The beta work is by Pat and I owe the beautiful banner to the wonderful Eka.  I hope you will enjoy.

Brian and Justin have had a long and wonderful life together for 60 glorious years as a couple.  Justin looks back on those years with all the love in him while attending a funeral.  This was my very first standalone.  I hope you will enjoy it.  Many thanks to Becky for her fine beta work and Eka for the beautiful banner.

Ibiza, At Last! by mandagrammy

Rated: M • 6 Reviews Liked

This story is my entry for a fanfic contest.  The only requirement was that the story include a novel, a phone, a hat, and a bottle of mineral water.  I racked my brain how to come up with a story that included those four items and I couldn't get the beaches of Ibiza off my mind.  Hope you enjoy where my imagination led me.  Basically, the story is simply a fun diversion for our intrepid lovers set after the end of Season Five.  The banner is by my wonderful banner maker, Eka, and I have no beta this time around so please forgive any mistakes.

A Valentine for Justin by mandagrammy

This story is a gap filler for the end of Episode 12 of Season 5 to the beginning of Episode 13.  Justin has accepted Brian's proposal and Brian wants to show his appreciation by treating his fiance' to a Valentine's Day he will never forget.  Many thanks to Eka for the lovely banner and Pat for her great help as my beta.  Comments are always welcome.

Some Walls by mandagrammy

Rated: YA • 6 Reviews Liked

This story is based on the words of the old Peter, Paul, and Mary song, 'Some Walls'.  In the story, Brian reflects back on the walls he had built up around his heart as he takes that final step in tearing the walls down when he proposes one last time to the man he loves and receives the answer he was looking for.  Many thanks to Eka for the wonderful banner and Pat for doing beta work for me.

Solitaire by mandagrammy

This is a story based on the words of the Clay Aiken song 'Solitaire'.  It is strictly in Brian's POV as he remembers all the events that happened in Season Three from the moment Justin left him for the Fiddler to the moment he got Justin back into his arms, where he belonged.  I owe a debt of gratitude to Eka for the beautiful banner and Pat for her beta skills.

Writer's Strike by mandagrammy

Rated: M • 8 Reviews Liked

It's the year 2008, and there is a Writer's strike in Hollywood. There are nothing but reruns on television. Brian and Justin have been living together in domestic bliss for over two years and they are getting tired of the reruns. So what will our inventive couple do now to entertain themselves? Read on and solve the mystery. Thanks to Eka for the fun banner and Pat for being a great beta.

The election for Mayor is over and Stockwwell has lost.  Liberty Avenue is celebrating, but will Stockwell tuck his tail and slink off into the night, or does the man have something else on his mind?  I want to thank Becky for beta help and Eka for the perfect banner to match the story.

All's Fair In Love And War by mandagrammy

Rated: M • Feature 7 Reviews Liked

This is a beautifully written story set in 1944, featuring Brian and Justin as gay soldiers in WWII serving in occupied France. One of my favorite stories from this amazing author - Lorie

It is the Winter of 1944 in occupied France. The allies have landed and slowly, so slowly, made their attempt to push to the borders of Germany. Sergeant Brian Kinney is too busy trying to keep his men alive and do his duty to worry about anything else, much less a personal life. Everything changes one day when one of his men, recently killed in an ambush, is replaced with a raw new recruit, Private Justin Taylor. The kid looks like he's barely out of High School and totally wet behind the ears. The Sarge is not happy, especially when without warning Sergeant Kinney finds himself fighting a different kind of war than the one on the battlefield.

I am dedicating this story to my late father who served bravely and honorably in WWII and the Vietnam War. I am also dedicating this story to all the GLBT men and women who also served with honor, but in silence throughout history. Many thanks go to the amazing Eka for her brilliant banner and to my friend Pat for her beta skills.

Light! Camera! Action! by mandagrammy

Justin Taylor is a young actor from Hollywood who has accepted a lead role in the making of a film based on the comic book, 'Rage'.  The location shoot is in Pittsburgh, Pa. and Brian Kinney, head of the company that will promote the film, has been asked to instruct Justin in how to play gay.  The rest they say...is history.  I owe a debt of gratitude to Eka for the beautiful banner and Pat, for her beta work.

Double Trouble: Graduation by mandagrammy

Rated: M • 31 Reviews Liked

This is the sequel to Double Trouble and it will help you to understand the characters and their motivations if you've read DT first. Hopefully this one will stand up well on its own. This story picks up four years after DT ends. This time it is Gus and boyfriend Jason who are graduating from college and their sisters who are graduating from high school. The story will look back on the previous four years and then move on to their new lives together. Brian and Justin, still happily married, look with pride on the kids they helped move into adulthood together. I hope you will enjoy this continuation of their saga and remember that I welcome all comments. Many thanks to the genius work of Eka for the banner and my friend Pat for the beta work. Enjoy!

I owe a debt of gratitude to Heather for her beta skills and Eka for the wonderful banner for my story.

Bold Enough to Take a Stand by mandagrammy

Rated: M • 7 Reviews Liked

This is the third installment of my continuing story that I call the 'Enough' series.  The original is 'Old Enough...' and the first sequel is 'Young Enough....', in case you haven't checked them out.   In this sequel, Brian is beginning to feel a restlessness for his old ways, something Justin isn't happy about.  He is ready for a commitment.  How will Justin handle it when Brian tries to take a stand and have his cake and eat it too.  Will Justin be able to handle it and take a stand of his own, or will their relationship end forever?  Many thanks to Eka for the inspired banner and Pat for her excellent beta work.

Young Enough Not to Care by mandagrammy

This is the second in a series of 'Enough' stories.  It is the next day after PIFA student, Justin Taylor's 21st Birthday celebration at Babylon where the young man has met and gone home with Liberty Avenue stud, Brian Kinney.  Where do they go from here?  Again I must thank Eka for the beautiful banner and Pat for her beta work.

A Sunny New Year by mandagrammy

This is a what if version of that period of time at the end of Season 3 and beginning of Season 4 when Justin has gone to Hollywood to help in the making of the movie, "Rage" . What if Brian couldn't take the separation from his lover any longer, especially with a New Year about to start? What would Brian do about it? I owe a great debt of gratitude to my friend, Judy for her beta help and my Granddaughter, Marika for the banner. Hugs, Grammy

Cracked by mandagrammy

Here I go with my first multi-chaptered story in over 3 years.  I really hope you will enjoy it.  Some time ago someone suggested the idea of turning around the series plot involving the Prom bashing 180 degrees, and then seeing what might have happened if it was Brian who was Hobbs' victim rather than Justin.  I found the idea intriguing, so I'm going with it.  Of course there will be drama and angst, but just remember how my stories end up and take heart.  So without delay, here is the beginning of a whole new light on the love story of Brian and Justin.

But first, of course, I must give my undying appreciation to my dear Judy for her beta help.  And a special appreciation to the very talented and thoughtful Kim for the evocative banner for my story.  I love you girls dearly.
