Hi! I don't watch a lot of series either. I don't have the time for that and QAF keeps me too busy. I read fanfiction so / too much... :-) I haven't even seen Buffy. I'm just "a generation" too old for this I think. When I was young there was "Das Model und der Schnüffler", "The X Files" and stuff like that. I was just curious about "Squid Game" and also didn't understand the hype about it. In Germany it was reported in the press that children in the schoolyard would reenact it and beat each other up. No idea. I thought the series was really well done and thought-provoking, like what would I do in a situation like that and stuff like that, but other than that I didn't get the hype either. But you're right, the scene with the marbles was heartbreaking

As for your concert. Too bad these idiots messed the concert for you up a bit. Unfortunately, there are people like that everywhere. My classification is either they're stupid or they're selfish (or both). I take the S-Bahn to work and have been observing a girl for two or three weeks. She is not wearing an FFP2 mask. OK, so maybe she has her reasons. But then she has her water bottle and about every three minutes she takes off the mask to take a sip or two of water. I drive 6 stations! I mean okay if you have a cough or something. But that? I don't understand her behavior.

Oh, it's just a terrible time. First Covid and now this war of aggression on Ukraine. I was and still am so shocked. And that there's nothing one can do because one is afraid that this madman might do even worse things. Kiev is as far away from Berlin as Berlin is from Paris. It is unimaginable what is happening there at the moment. And the world is watching, doing nothing and is powerless.

So, this chapter. Great written as always. I hope Luke comes to his senses soon. I mean, Jenni made all the arguments that should matter. And as I wrote before... What would he have preferred? That his fathers would have stayed apart and that he would have experienced a complicated childhood with a lot of anger and maybe even hate. Jenni knows what she is talking about. So, looking forward to Sunday! Stay healthy and warmest regards!

Author's Response:

Well, at least she is wearing a mask, even if it's not FFP2. Over here the mask mandate will officially end on the 28th, so no more masks required anywhere after that and people have pretty much been doing that all week ever since it was announced. On Thursday I took the bus home after grocery shopping and I was the only person on the bus still wearing a mask :( It's really scary to me :/

The world is just going absolutely crazy right now :( What's happening in the Ukraine is horrifying and it's infuriating how the whole world is just watching and agreeing to sanctions that won't scare Putin at all ;( We are definitely living in very scary times right now... A colleague from work was planning to go to Germany for St.Patrick's Day in March (Berlin to be exact) and he was like: Do you think that will still be safe? I thought he was talking about Covid, so I said: Yeah, Germany is a lot better at mask wearing than Ireland... And then he was like: No, I mean because of the war, what if Russia attacks Germany... And all I could think was: No way! That thought hadn't even crossed my mind until then, but in his mind, we're on the brink of World War III and Germany being situated right in the middle of Europe, he was really worried...Crazy times! :(

On top of that, you have the Republican states in the US going absolutely crazy: The don't say gay bill in Florida, Texas prohibiting books that feature any LGBTQ+ content or characters and officially going after parents for child abuse if they allow their trans children to have hormon therapy, demanding that teachers, coaches, etc. notify authorities if they know of any trans children in their community... crazy :( That's 1930s Germany shit right there...

I don't think Luke has really considered any of what Jenny said to him. He was so caught up in his anger... I don't think he really thought about the alternatives so far. We can only hope that Jenny got through to him somehow and that their argument will have the desired effect on him :)

Thanks as always for your comment. Stay safe :)

When will Luke get over something that isn't a concern any longer?

Author's Response:

Unfortunately, it's not that easy and black and white :(

Thanks for your comment. More will be up tomorrow! :)
