It's hard to believe that Mel and Lindsay have made it this far. They always seemed to be on the outs in the series. When you think about it the timeline of this story is perfect. It's currently 17 years since the show.

I always believed that Mel was totally in love with Lindsay to the exclusion of all others, but she knew in her heart that Linds was conflicted. She was as much in love with Brian as she was with Mel. But I always believed that they would stay together in the end. I wrote this ten years ago so I was careful to keep the timeline faithful to the show when setting it in 2017. Can't believe that we are already past the year that I set this 'future' story in.
