Justin is starting to see things more clearly since he stopped taking those pills the fog is lifting at last.

Justin moving in with Brian and being around Ben should be interesting I wonder if Ben will be happy about this new development and will Brian even care?

Justin will inherit two million dollars when he turns twenty five?

I wonder if he knows about that or even remembers?

So, Justin's moving in with Brian - and Ben. I somehow don't think Ben is going to be overly thrilled with that. I'm not sure he approves of Brian's need/want for the human. But just how far will he go to protect his younger brother? Or will he come to see Brian wants Justin in a different way than his other conquests? And especially when Justin easily accepted to live at Brian's home without being compelled to do so.

And will Justin discover any secrets? And how will Justin learn of his inheritance, or will he maybe remember that when his mind fully unclouds?

Did Brian NEED an invitation to enter Justin's apartment, or did it just make it easier? (I wasn't sure on that point.) It's not a significant thing to know, just wondered what Brian's powers were... if afterall he can be in daylight, only weakened, maybe he can enter without an invitation.

Author's Response:

Yeah, I don't think Ben will be overjoyed with Justin as a houseguest... even if it isn't his house. I'm sure Ben is accustomed to Brian's dalliances with humans, but I think he sees something is very different in this particular pursuit, which is why he arrived at Brian's home, intent on protecting his younger brother.

In time, I am sure Justin will remember his past. I think it will be interesting to see what he could be blocking, but I know we'll get him there.

Yes, Brian did need an invitation. I vary my vampire rules in different stories. Some rules that we have seen used are too strange for me, but others I think work, and just make sense. The invitation is one of those.

As always, thank you for reading and commenting, Cathy.

Hugs,

Janet

Hey Janet,

I'm finally getting a chance to make the rounds on the 'MR' page. First of all though, WELCOME BACK! It's going to be great to read your stories here again, especially since somehow I keep forgetting my password on AO3.

Secondly, I really liked this chapter. Brian has made his intentions clear, and it looks like eventually Justin will accept the challenge and make him work harder than he ever has at anything in his long life. First and foremost though, I'm glad that Justin is getting out of that apartment. The specter of Seth couldn't possibly allow him to heal. I'll have to go back and read some of this, but wasn't there some type of inheritance that was for Justin, which Seth was really after? Either way, I'm glad he's gone! That turd was even worse than the stories I've read about Ethan. It's going to be interesting to see if the sole reason Brian was unable to compel Justin was simply because of Seth's machinations, or if there is something about Justin that makes him impervious to such actions.

So the only real issue to worry about is Ben now, and how he will take the presence of Justin in Brian's life. I really hope that he won't turn out to be another Michael in a vampiric way; always interfering under the false pretense of actually caring, instead of being a controlling troll. Hopefully, he and Brian won't exchange harsh words concerning Justin because I have a feeling that Brian won't hesitate to cut him off in an effort to have the one he wants.

Can't wait for MORE!

HAPPY WRITING and HUGS,

~Nichelle

Author's Response:

Hello Chelle,

Thank you for the warm welcome. I truly appreciate that! :) It will definitely take time to upload my stories. You never realize how many there are until you go through this process!

Brian has definitely made his intentions known. There is never any subtlety in that man, but even less of it here in this 'verse. Justin isn't a pushowver; at least, not when he is in his right mind, and clear of any chemical enhancements. Justin seemed very certain of not wanting to stay in Seth's apartment, whether he ever returned or not. I guess we know that isn't possible, though. Lol. I can't see any way it would have been a healthy environment for him with all that he's been through.

And yes, you remembered correctly. There is an inheritance that Justin hasn't come into yet that Seth wanted to get his greedy hands on. That should come to light soon, and perhaps be something that can soothe Justin's mind in regards to his future. Yes, I would agree. Seth was odious in every way. I don't think I've even written anything with Ethan as despicable. Michael, hmmm maybe. My contempt for him always comes forth in my writing - LOL.

I guess we will see about Justin's inability to be compelled. Once he is living with Ben and Brian, I think some things will be answered. And yes, Ben could be a real concern. In his defense, though, I will say that he genuinely loves his brother and fears his sometimes reckless life will somehow end it. Protecting Brian is much of what he lives for. I am sure his often rebellious brother challenges his goals at times, and will continue to do so.

I am working on the next chapter now, so I expect an update much sooner than the last few have been.

Thanks for reading and commenting. I appreciate that so much!

Hugs,

Janet
