Hey! It's meeeee....

it seems I'm on a "let's reread all of Nichelle's stories" kick. I know I have not read the last few chapters that were posted of this story, as I didn't remember it well enough to know what was going on.

I DEFINITELY didn't remember about the screwing out of the RAGE profits. But yet I remember Justin holding all copyright to his artwork. Weird how your mind filters certain things about a story. Hmm... down the line I do know what happens when Ron and nancy purchase said artwork... but I think that's where I quit reading.

Well, just to touch on the ending of this chapter...

PLEASE... send Ethan to some remote island. Get him away from Justin. As much as I 'love to hate' Michael and Lindsay, I am loathe of Ethan. That guy makes my skin crawl. There is something about his character that rubs me the wrong way. Totally different from how Dumb and Dumber do. Ethan makes me Cringe. Just his: No, Justin is mine and anything that stands in the way of us being together, has to be removed at all cost and that includes his friends. I'll have to see to it.  Makes me want to crash my computer so I don't have to see and read his name anymore. Lord I just shivered.

Enjoying this immensely...

HUGS  ~Cathy

Catching up on my reading here - I like that Emmett is on Justin's side. Also like that Brian's taking the initiative to protect Justin from Michael. Ethan's plans sound mighty scary though. Hmmmm. Better hurry and read that next chapter. TAG

Author's Response:

Hey Tag!!

Emmett is definitely like Justin's male version of Daphne. I'm definitely loving on this Brian! It's interesting to see him OOC but at the same time totally IC; I'm walking a fine line between the two. Eck...Ether.... I mean Ethan, is the catastrophe that would happen if Michael and Lindsay had a kid. *GUH! UGH! Shivers!* How the hell am I managing to write him? Perhaps that's why I generally tend to leave his POV for last, LOL

Really chin rat? Why do you even think you could possibly control who Justin sees? Ian is already skating on thin ice as it is, he's making the impending break up even uglier than it would have been. And i'm not even going to start on Michael.

Author's Response:

LOL!!! I know Ethan has delusional tendencies much like Brian's 'best friend' counterparts. I would say that I'm sorry for the wake-up call but then I'd be lying!

Happy Reading and HUGS Tamara!

I have to say, that last part with Ethan...I have serious chills up my smpine adn the hair on the back of my neck is straight up! I am most concerned about all is going to do, try to do and/or get away with. Would he align himself with Michael adn Lindsey or are they in so much trouble that it would be more trouble for him? Hmmmm. Not really sure what he can do about Daphne. She is one hell of a strong woman.

Loved that Emmett went to the meeting. His input is vital. Brian knows that emmett will be loyal to Justin so what he says, needn't be questioned. Sadly Brian is really seeing the full workings of Michael and Lindsey's machinations. Happily they are going to be royally screwed and I can't wait to see what you do to them! lol. Wonder what Deb's reaction will be. Can go either way really.

Brian's inner thoughts were great. I'm glad he's able to look at everything in hindsite and understand where Justin's thoughts were going. Between his stoisism, Michael's influence and Justin's lack of confidence, it's no wonder Justin was in the state he was in. I'm also glad that Jen and Emmett called him on it too. He's not blameless. And the fact he allowed Michael to treat Justin the way he did, without any correction, would be aweful for Justin. It would only validate his own misgivings.

I must say....my heart was in the dumps after reading this. I so hope that B&J can settle quickly so that they can work together against those opposing them. I love that in your stories, how strong they are together. (yes...droppinghints there for my own wants, lol)

What a wonderful ride you are taking us on with this story.

Thanks for the update.

Cheers,

Elaine

Author's Response:

Hey Elaine!!!

Michael, Lindsay and Ethan are of the same mind only in different corners. All are self-serving and devious enough to try anything to gain their own 'expected' ends. How far they are willing to go is anyone's guess, but in this age of modern technology anything is possible. Deb's reaction to all of this will be coming up very soon.

Brian is definitely a complex man who is just now realizing that being in the thick of the situation didn't help him see things all that clearly. Hearing Jenn and Em's take on the situation from the outside looking in is helping him to see all the little clues that he's missed and unable to deny his own culpability in the mess he and Justin are in. Mostly, Brian was always honest with himself in terms of his motives but this conversation helped him see that deflection and denial aren't always useful especially when dealing with another person. Will he take what he's learning and apply it? Only time will tell but in the meantime he received a lot of food for thought.

Don't let your heart be troubled. Brian and Justin have some personal obstacles to get through as individuals before they come to any sort of resolution. And there is definitely a lot to say to each other. It may take time but then again... that's all Brian and Justin seem to have working for them right now.

Happy Reading and HUGS,

What a dense chapter!!!

Beautifully written, lots of information exchanged, Jennifer is perfectly described and Emmett is as delightful as serious and honest. So happy Jennifer could "read" Brian and could be straight forward. Yes, she is protecting her son, but she likes Brian and sees him for what and who is trully is.

The very long part in the restaurant is so well built, it's a pleasure to read.

Ethan is planning something evil and I hope he won't succeed, even partially. Please, crush this cockroach.

As for Michael, I hope that he will be crushed too and shamed publicly. As for Lindsay, will Brian take corrective action towards her?

Author's Response:

Hello Claire!!

Thank you for the compliment on how the restaurant scene was written. Brian, Jennifer and Emmett are such full and charismatic characters that it was a joy to show them together in a scene I would have loved to see on screen.

LOL@ crushing the cockroach! I will certainly attempt to relocate Ethan to the Island of "Mitch Be Gone" as soon as possible!

Michael and Lindsay will certainly be accounting for much, both publicly and privately. They truly miscalculated when they decided to mess with Justin.

Happy Reading and HUGS,

God Nicole! The way you write hun is so ingenius & inspired, full of intelligence, thoughtfulness & flair. I love it! I would have paid money to see that scene between Brian, Jennifer & Em played out on screen! So fabulous! More please!

Ian is so evil! He's going to sabotage Justin's jeep isn't he? And try to get rid of Daphne?!?! What balls! Good luck with that Paganini...

Michael & Lindsay are fucked! And not in a positive life affirming way...

Author's Response:

SHINE!!!!! Thank you so much for the boost to my ego! Sometimes I become a little unsure but I will look back on this and remember the faith you all place in my ability to weave a story worth reading.

I really wish that all of this had happened in the series so it's my honor to have you all reading my fanciful notions! I always thought that given the chance, Emmett and Jennifer would have called Brian on every single role he played in the temporary demise of Brian and Justin's relationship. They are both honest and have a way of seeing situations from the outside that is unique and refreshing to write. More importantly, they each have Brian and Justin's best interest at heart and place blame equally instead of picking sides.

Ethan is selfish in the extreme. He may have worked and manipulated to get Justin, but he is having a helluva time keeping him. Ironically if you take Michael's whining and clinginess and pair them with Lindsay's ability to see the end goal by trying to manipulate the events in between, you'll have a clear view of Ethan. Notice I didn't mention his level of selfishness because in order for him to be this way, it has to match those of Michael and Lindsay's in reference to Brian. And sadly, it DOES! But I doubt that he will be happy or as successful in alienating Justin from his inner circle as he believes he will be right now.

Stay Tuned!!

Happy Reading and HUGS,

~Nichelle

I see I need to review season 3.  I missed most of the nuances that you caught.  Love that Emmett is the one Brian goes to for varification of what Mikey's up to.  Ethan is kind of like Mikey, selfish in his viewpoints.  Loving this.

Author's Response:

Hey Phyllis!

So happy that you are still enjoying this! This particular arc always bothered me to the point of obsessing about what I would do differently if I ever had a chance to write it. Well, thanks to Tag and her own overactive imagination, I get to not only rewrite 'history' but to put my own spin on things that I believe could have happened had the writers had but time and inclination. I'm just so happy that all of you are willing to join me for this 'modern-day' ride through this tumultous period of Brian and Justin.

Happy Reading and HUGS,

~Nichelle

Love that Brian's finally taking steps to find out the truth about Michael and Lindsey. That protective instinct is still there - better late than never. TAG

Author's Response:

Hey Tag! Your bunny is working OVERTIME! I've come to the conclusion that Brian will always be in protective mode when it comes to Justin, be it near or far. I would say that it was my own fanciful notions but as I look back at the history between them, I know that it isn't. Sadly, his version of protection isn't always so overt and sometimes comes out as the harsh vestiges of reality than what it really is- case in point Chicago vs. Vermont.

So glad that you are still enjoying this drama!!

Happy Reading and HUGS,
