What tangled web are you weaving now? St. Joan is responsible for Lindsay being the way she is? And then we have Michael's idiocy:

“I’m not even sure of all you just said, but I think you called me stupid.” And saying Debbie is going to MAKE Brian... As if Brian doesn't have a brain of his own. He apparently isn't aware of what his mother is dealing with.

Then this business with Brian... a man who wields a helluva lot more power than they think, or even he, himself, knows he has at the moment. What The Heck!?!

And they were going to give the children to CRAIG?! My gosh, good thing they all found out about the babies. I also think both Lindsay and Michael are going to be fairly old before they see the outside of a prison cell. And I'm hoping Hobbs, SR, Craig, and Russo go right along with them.

Loving the plots you are weaving.

HUGS ~Cathy

Hi, just reading back a few chapters. Could you help clear up some confusion.

I noticed that in this chapter Chris Hobbs is confessing to his harassment of Justin etc and how Michael and Lindsay paid for it & that Michael used Justin's money, the money Michael embezzled from Justin's share of Rage.  But wasn't Rage conceived way after Justin was harrassed at high school and bashed? So how could they pay Hobbs with Justin's Rage share when that money didn't even exist then?  Also Brian's burglary was way before that too. And Ethan came on the scene not very long after Rage started, so how did they make that much money from it so fast?  Please note, in this story it details all the problems Justin had with his hand creating Rage so it had to after the bashing.

Please help as my brain is starting to singe around the edges!

Thanks

(confused) Deb L

Author's Response:

A few of things you should remember when reading ADLS:

First thing is that although part of this is set post-Stockwell, I'm adjusting the timelines so they make sense. Part of doing that is providing gap-fillers, suppositions, and rewriting scenarios so that they are completed. I've also brought it into the current time, as opposed to 2002-2003, when it was first done. If you noticed in the beginning, Red Cape Comics was a lot more technologically efficient; they actually had mainstream paraphrenalia (dolls, cups, t-shirts, and the like). Also, there's live streaming, which is how Lindsay got caught in her numerous affairs in the car, and they were able to spy constantly on Brian, which wasn't even thing back then; just a theory. So moving the timeline to the time in which I began writing this, suits the story in this way.

However, in terms of storylines, the one thing I've always noticed about the show in general is that they would produce an idea, and then rarely followed it all the way through to the end of the actual storyline. An prime example of that was the whole bashing arc (which is the basis for SOWK). But it's a blessing in a way, since their neglect- for lack of a better term- is the fanfic world's gain because it's allowed so many stories to be transformed in some way or another.

The second thing is to remember that Craig Taylor is also involved in all of this. Michael and Craig shared a common goal; to get Justin returned to his household, and out of Brian's life entirely. And that's about I can say right now, since it will give away the plot going forward. However, rest assured that it WAS Justin's money used to facillitate the burglary of the loft, and it didn't necessarily have to be from the Rage profits. For example, lest we forget that Michael had access to Deb's house where Justin was living at the time, while Craig still had access to who-knows-what. Keep that in mind.

And the third thing is to just kick back and enjoy the story itself. Don't get too caught up in comparing the show to my work, because then you really will get confused. A small word of advice though: Although ADLS and JT2U are similar in plots, they are taking two different tracks; be careful not to confuse the two of them. They both jump in and out of canon, but they also move timelines, and are full of what-ifs and alternate universe storylines. It's all about being able to do it seamlessly, so that it feels like the storylines should have been there all the time, and are at last complete. Just thought I should put that out there...

HAPPY READING,

~Nichelle

Reread and the problem with Deb is that she has no morals anymore she lost all of that when she sacrificed everything for Michael and because of her examples he learned that if you ignore the truth then you never have to admit you were wrong.

And that if Michael wants the moon she will everyone to get it for him, she taught him if he whined long and loud enough he can get what he wants and because she never said No or taught him to grow up he would always need her and would never leave her behind.

Deb expects everyone to kneel for Michael because she has spent so many years being subservient to Michael that when they don't she gets all holier than thou and starts telling people what's wrong with their lives while ignoring that hers ain't exactly squeaky clean.

Deb, lectures, bullies and heckled everyone to follow her edits then is surprised when Michael uses that same method to lecture, bully and heckle her.

Lindsay really is exactly like Michael and what ticks her off is that because she swings both ways but refuses to admit it then Brian should too.

What happened one drunk night though I wonder how drunk Lindsay was since Brian barely remembers it and it was never repeated, especially since Brian has properly been drunker than that since being around Lindsay, even passed out drunk and high as a kite around Michael Brian never felt the urge...hmmm.

They all want the one person who bend but never really yielded to their dictates.

Jealousy, Greed and Contempt breeds all sorts of mayhem smh.

Poor lawyer, having to deal with Michael; I love this quote "Hell, he could even make Martin Luther King, Junior rethink his stance on nonviolence."

Lindsey discovering that Justin is topping Brian quite often: priceless!

What Joan has to do with this? Another twist of yours?

What The Hell Did Joan Do???!!!!!

Lindsay is her quest to ensnare Brian and get rid of Justin she left herself wide open by one not keeping her legs close and having too many people apart of her schemes.

It doesn't take a genius to see that Lindsay set herself up and by keeping a record of her plans, lovers, along video of her many, many conquests she has given the DA everything they need to make sure she is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Gus and his siblings will be expecting their own children by the time she gets out, if she ever does get out that is.

Michael is so Stupid but if he wants to go to trial then he will get his wish, if Deb tries to put the blame on Brian and Justin for Michael's idiotic behavior then she deserves whatever is coming to her.

Chris better just face what is coming to him like a man because no one will be saving him this time.

Daddy will be to busy trying to save himself.

Craig might want to start counting his pennies because he is paying Justin back every cent he stole from him with interest.

Fantastic Update!!! So Worth The Wait As Always ;)

How many more chapters of this story are you going to be doing?

Author's Response:

Hello Amy,

To answer your question honestly, I'm not sure. Since I am one of those writers who work from the most basic outline you can possibly imagine, I allow everything within the story to occur organically, even though I know where I want them to end up. The main goal continues to be to grow the characters according to their individual and collective situations. All I am certain of at this moment is that I'm aiming to finish all of my open WIPs by the last day of the year. It doesn't give me a lot of time, but rest assured that the stories will still be quality entertainment. I want you all running the emotional gamut the same way I do while I'm writing, LOL.

Thanks for your inquiry! HAPPY READING and HUGS,

~Nichelle
