Diane can't pay off blackmail cause it will never stop until all the money is gone and even in death they will hound their kids I relatives until their last dying breath.
Best to beat them at their own game by keeping the Power Position while letting them think they have it, Plus gathering more information puts them on the defensive while you are playing offense.
Diane is smart to make the best changes for the diner and having great people to help make it Fabulous.
Jennifer getting Ben to keep the house and make money will further help to severe the ties to Michael and Deb and give him a comfortable best egg for later.
Carl should just start looking for a new place because even with the threat of her marriage ending Deb is arrogant enough to believe that Carl will never leave her, even if she wavers for a second all Michael has to do is call and she will revert back to Bully Deb, so he should save himself the agony and just let her reap what she has sown while he finds his peace.
Jennifer was totally accurate about Deb t she doesn't deserve pity she deserves exactly what is heading her way right between the eyes.

Oh yes Ethan got what was coming to him but if he is stupid enough to help Michael he will lose all of th little he has.
Drew is going to be surprised when he finds out about Brian having cancer.
I so can't wait for Michael to lose and have to run back to Deb who will be getting her wish and regretting it to cause her Prince will have her at his Beck and Call before the door closes.
I also wonder what is going on in Pittsburgh with Carl and Deb plus how is The Avenue taking her true colors coming out?

It was never explicit who knew about Brian's cancer, apart from Debbie, Michael, Justin and Ted. Maybe Cynthia found out as well?

I've had a couple questions regarding this story, an after reading earlier I tried looking back to see if I missed the answers, but really couldn't locate them
First, the messages. If I remember correctly, Brian and Ted missed calls from Remson THE morning before leaving from work, yet they didn't get them. Had Michael already put the DND on the phones, and if so, how did he get the phones to activate them, that early in the day?
Second... all the money that was pooled together for Red Cape payments for six months, AND the fact Ben paid for the store AND Debbie gave Michael money for the bogus down payment of the house... did ALL of that go for rare collectibles, or did he use it for something else? IF he bought all rare collectibles, are they in the bunch that Ben gets to keep, and what about the money that Brian, Em, and Ted paid out? How will they collect their money?

The part regarding staff and their non-fraternization clause... well, then any workers Michael tries to get to approach Brian, they would be VERY foolish to take him up on it. All Brian would have to do is tell Alex that- so and so came on to me... well, goodbye job and island.

Justin is good- understands how Michael is trying to undermine everyone- I think Brian respects the things that Justin has done to protect himself and their friends. While he is not happy with Justin's words and actions of ommission, he seems to understand them. He jsut wants Justin to be safe and really Justin should hopefully accept and understand Brian's need to protecthim. Seems that Justin has it all set up for Carl to put Michael in his place- wonderful idea and I hope it works. Great update and I know you are writing many other stories, but I hope you can write this one again soon.

So very happy Justin has a compilation of info on Tino (and hopefully Co.) I really hope there's something in there that will implicate Michael in the whole mess, too. If not, with his recent call to Pittsburgh and getting Tino's phone number, maybe he has already put a call in, and Tino can implicate Michael.
A LOT of hard truths have come out during this meeting. I have a feeling when they leave for the day, everyone is going to be very emotionally drained.
I hope the next chapter shows a excerpt of the Novotny-Horvath house and the ensuing conversation, because I don't think our resident detective is going to be any kind of pleasant.

Michael doesn't have a pot to piss in, and if Carl leaves Deb, she won't either. Neither one will have money coming in. And what do you bet, Deb will STILL have a mortgage on her house? She probably loaned Michael money at some point.

A mix of angst (regarding Blake) and relief (for Brian and Justin, finally dealing with the darkest periods of their lives. Brian is really going "all truths out there" in this chapter/story. As it's the only way to get Justin back full-time, he is doing the right thing.

If Justin has an operating manual on Michael than he has to have one for Deb too after all who did Michael first learn manipulation and bullying from?
Michael always did think he was smarter than everyone else in the room but he was just more devious and underhanded, now those balls he has been juggling with glee are about to crash around him even before they leave the island (Again).
All those rumors and remarks heard on the Avenue were true and they are all finally ready to admit that Michael was someone they should've left behind years ago along with Deb.
By laying all their burdens down for each of them to see they are regaining the parts of themselves they have lost and rebuilding the road to healing not just for themselves but each other while also taking back the power Michael stole.
Whatever Justin has on Tino and his associates will be enough to hopefully severe the ties he still has on Blake Forever.
Pittsburgh is the island of lost toys and before they go back it will be their home once again but first they have let it all out then heal before they go home to slay the other Dragon in their lives.
