PS. For a sequel, you could flesh out the sperm donor story. Explain how Sapperstein was selling his slaves' sperm, under the table of course, to sperm banks and maybe even turn up some more kids for Brian. Then they could fight the legal battle to stop that practice too! Yay!

I have to admit that as of now there are no plans for a sequel. I'm focusing on other stories right now and my muse is way too happy with those story ideas.
For the moment, this universe is done :)

Well, what can I say? Really loved this story and followed every installment. Very well written.
Not sure if you never intended to explain about Gus or just decided you couldn't find a reasonable explanation/plotline for it! Oh well, as Justin would say, it's a mystery!

Yes, the Gus thing was always supposed to be a mystery for Brian and the girls, from the moment it came up. When Melanie couldn't get any further with the sperm bank where they had gotten the sperm from, it was always supposed to stay a mystery. In my head, I know what happened and yes, it is a reasonable explanation (really, there aren't that many possibilities), but I don't like when writers spell everything out into the last tiny detail. I love when readers can use their own imagination and can use their own ideas to fill some blanks. Lets just say that my explanation involves the SAP and some more evil from his side.
As for the characters in the story: Sometimes we just have to accept fate and count our blessings. Gus is a good thing that happened to Brian at a time when not many good things came his way and he has learned to be grateful about having his son in his life. Anything else isn't as important as the fact that he has Gus.
