So relieved the passage wasn't destroyed.
What surprises me is that Brian is going back to 1941 with Cynthia. He should have shown her the passage, gone thru it and gone back to 2016 immediately. What if anything happens while they both are in 1941?
Cynthia is a smart girl, she would have trusted Brian after seeing just the buildings destroyed around the alley.

How about this?
On July 22nd, no matter how hard Brian pleaded, Justin went on the mission. He could not let the guys in his squadron down. True to history, he was shot down, but parachuted to safety somewhere in Northern France where a farmer’s family helped him. But for the sake of history, it was reported that he was shot down and killed.
One night, Brian read ahead in history, and saw a report that in September an American RAF Pilot had snuck through German lines in Northern France and was working on a Norwegian Ship on his was back to England. Brian went back to 1941, hired a mercenary group, got a boat and met the ship. To keep this short, he rescued Justin, brought him back to 2016 and lived happy every after.
O, ok, so a little convoluted and too symplistic.. But take this as a compliment to your story. As Iad said in a previous ‘feedback’, I can leave the computer, but not the story.

Cynthia seemed like the best person to bring in, she's trustworthy, smart and no one would mess with her.
