Yeah, they did it! I always loved them, even at the beginning. I was so happy when they met at the ski lodge especially after Ted's last "boyfriend" who was nuts.
Brian is so in character and so is Micheal.

Congrats on a marvelous beginning to this story. So sad that Emmett channeled his inner-Mikey right when Ted needed his support, as his best friend, the most. I hate that Ted had to be the way he was, but Emmett DESERVED it. I know that it will be hard for some folks to feel that way, but yeah, Emmett deserved the same level of low-blows he threw at Ted to come back and hit him just as hard. Turnabout is fairplay after all.
As for Michael, I already feel a million 'STFU' moments on the tip of my tongue ready to spew. If memory serves me correctly, this is the direct timeline that will actually tell what Michael was doing to keep Brian and Justin apart in the first few years post-series?

As harsh as it seemed Emmett did deserve what Ted said to him.
As for the weasel; the next chapter advances the story a few years but even then he is not finished with what makes him what he is in our stories.

I think the way it was was them. Fuck their so called friends and family.
I do see though that being around Brian has rubbed off on Ted a bit and not in a flattering was. What he said to Em was cruel.
If he can't be happy with Mikey then Michael doesn't want Brian happy at all. I hope Brian follows Ted and the following quietly picks Justin up in New York, high tails it to Toronto picks up Gus the heads to the registar's office themselves.
If tjis is the prequel, I an so looking forward to the new story that follows.

Ted and Blake just wanted to keep it simple. They realized that they couldn't just invite a few people they would need to invite everyone.
Ted was responding to the way Emmett reacted, which was not very nice either.
The weasel will never change. More about him in coming chapters.
This is a prequel to Bittersweet Promise. It explains how Ted and Blake became parents to their son.
