Oh, the plot is really getting good now. Just love this story. And, have to tell you that as much as I loved the QAF series, the writers on Kinnetik Dreams are just as good if not at times better than the series writers. Congrats to all. Maybe it is that so many of the stories have great HAPPY endings which the series in my opinion did not. Whatever, you are all so talented and thank you for sharing that talent.

I was really sure Justin is going to say the date including the year, and it will be it, couple days at the hospital. Luckily no. Poor him anyway, hospital must hvae been scary with all the lights and machinery. And Brian was totally adorable being worried about Justin noticing doorman's flirting.

OMG! They really fight!
This was actually hard to read because it's pretty realistic. We've all had these 'I love them, but..." heartbreaking level fights, and this was a doozy. Brian's getting a whole new level of emotional resistance from Justin. Brian isn't dealing with someone in the 'family' here. They are used to his emotional disappearing acts, they know him and where they come from, even if they don't like it, and they'll accept him back because they have their own network of connections to him outside of their own relationship to him. Justin doesn't have that. He knows nothing about Brian's life other than 'their' times together. He had no idea if Brian was dead or alive or in jail or on Mt. Olympus or what! Don't blame him for being pissed!
In Brian's defense, it's rather difficult to judge the needs of someone from a historical era when being able to check up on someone who 'disappears' is pretty much not a thing. Up to now, this has been a diversion for him, even if the danger is apparent when he's in 1941, he isn't really IN 1941 in his head. Bombed out cities aren't part of his skill set. But Lucky - that made a difference because it was at least something that he could identify with.
Good, good, good job. Now, Justin has a mystery to solve!

SOOOOOO glad to hear you are still enjoying this one. And of course, real couples have real fights - no matter how much you love someone you don't always agree with them. And both our characters are busy learning and growing here. This is the first real relationship for both of them, so they have a lot of adjusting to do. Frankly, I'm surprised Justin wasn't even more pissed at Brian. I would have slugged him myself. LOL! Now, on to write the really fun stuff. TAG

Side note - Was actually getting ready to watch 'Imitation Game' again. This movie about Alan Turing is phenomenal (and Benedict Cumberbatch as a bonus!). For those who don't know Turing's astounding and heartbreaking story (though it's obvious our distinguished authors are WELL aware of this piece of LGBTQ WWII history), please please correct that lack quickly! He pretty much single-handedly saved the freaking world and was chemically castrated for homosexuality as repayment. Took his own life at the devastatingly young age of 42. I'm so thrilled that this little tid-bit is here - and I'm glad Brian is having a bit of a historic come-to-Jesus moment as to the strength and breadth of the shoulders upon which his freedom as a gay man was so heroically borne.

Can we just say ‘Ditto’ to everything you wrote here? Yes, we both have seen ‘The Imitaion Game’ in doing our research for this story, and it’s a wonderful movie. The idea that gay men were chemically castrated in the past has haunted me (TAG) ever since, and our attempts to show this fact - and how it would impact a modern gay man - is one of the driving motivations behind our writing. Love this chapter! The lock-in party is something right out of prohibition! I like that link to yet a third era of history. Seems that no matter how far forward or backward we go in history, there is always a group of people hiding from some arcane law somewhere.
As entertaining as this story is, it is also very educational. Thank you, both, for putting in so much research and getting into the little details that flesh out historial writing. Good job, ladies!
