And even though it was excruciatingly difficult for Daphne and the rest of the 1941 White Lion Pub to accept that Justin was lost in battle, it's better than them thinking he had deserted.

Looks like Hobbs was responsible for the loss of 3 planes. Surprised they didn't check to see what happened to Hobbs since he wasn't supposed to be flying that night. Or was he? Now we need another story on how Justin deals with living in Pittsburgh.

Perfectly done! Somehow I knew Brian & Justin's plan wouldn't run smoothly... but wow, Hobbs is even more abhorrent than in canon. I wasn't exactly sure how Justin would get out of following a direct order, but now I guess Hobbs can take one for the team. The officers didn't see him, only Justin, and he'll be piloting Justin's plane. A case of mistaken identity and Hobbs will be the one declared a deserter. Brilliant.
Now, however... the feeling of impending Fic withdrawal is very real!

Each time I read about what happened in Russia during WWII, I'm deeply troubled; but it's common to every war: humans are morphing into abject beasts.
Yet, the Russian people suffered for decades before and after that while West Germany was able to rise from the ashes.
