However, in both Proverbs and Deuteronomy it talks about disciplining them appropriately, not beating them and breaking bones. And the fear Brian lived with, wondering if this night, it would happen again. 

But then we had Gus' exuberant birthday hug and wishes, which overrode everything else.

You have a knack for taking real-life issues that can be hard to overcome, but you didn't give a miraculous recovery. They had to fight and learn how to cope. You left them with a way to overcome them with help and guidance. And love.

Wow! What an emotional chapter. Really tugged at the heartstrings. Debbie was a true mother to him since he was 14. Which was wonderful, because we know Joanie never was. 

I hope Brian gets up the nerve to ask Justin to move in with him. Maybe Justin will take the initiative show up one day with his stuff.

I fucking hate Joan Kinney, what a cold, vile old lady. I am so glad he has Debbie in his life. Blood doesn't make you family, love does, and Debbie loves him like her own.

I really never knew until reading this how with this type of SCI a man couldn't ejaculate anymore, I cannot imagine how that would make him feel.

I love this change in Brian.

Reading this for a second time and it's like reading it for the first time all over again. I am picking up bits I missed the first time around. I totally get why Brian didn't tell Justin, his reasons made perfect sense and what I loved was that Justin totally understood.
