Brian will never admit it to anyone but himself (and only in actions to Justin), but he is hurting without his Sunshine. I love that you added that last line, "It's only a matter of time". It ties in with other occurrences that he has said this. Good recap!

I still remember Brian's eyes rising up to look over his coffee cup when Justin came into work that morning.

It was probably one of his regrets (that he never does.)

Although Brian would never admit it, I do think he had a few regrets, and these events had to top the list.
