This was a great 3 Chapter story. Was so happy the Kip incident turned up in Chapter 3, so Brian learned the truth. It would have been awesome to have witnessed Brian approaching Kip with the truth, so that bastard knew Brian was on to him about lying. But overall, I loved your take on the story. Loved that Justin had no lingering problems from the bashing, besides headaches. Loved that Justin's memory was intact. Loved that Justin and Brian were still together.

Author's Response: Thanks for your comments! My stories posted on Kinnetik Dreams don't include the original dates that I wrote them. All were written by December 2005. Awakenings was first posted on my website in August 2001 - after the Season One finale - when we didn't know if Justin would live or die after the bashing. We didn't yet know about the coma. I ASSUMED Justin would live, and tried to imagine his awakening. I'm glad that my stories seem to still hold up after all these years. Thanks again!

The last part was endearing. Justin almost defeated and Brian finally agreeing to pretend, or not... I love how tender Brian can be when he let his bad boy routine down.

Author's Response: This was not exactly AU - I wrote it in August 2001, right after the season one finale. We didn't know if Justin would live or die, until season two started six months later! Of course we didn't know about the coma yet, so I just tried to guess what would happen if/when Justin woke up. Thanks for your many comments on my stories - I've only just rejoined KD, so I haven't commented before now.
