That is pretty hilarious. I'm sure Gus will want to show his new trick to all his friends.

Author's Response:

Susi,

Hopefully they can explain to Gus where he can and can't show off his new trick.

First off...love the plug! :) Obviously a very proud mama.

What a wonderful time for the newly forming little family. Justin, Molly and gus are all helping to bring out the youthfulness in Brian. His fears of fatherhood are no differnt than anyone else's and Justin is asuaging his fears. Gus in his exuberance is allowing Brian to shake off his own image and be the dad he wants to be. He's starting to see the little joys through his son's eyes. Apprecatin the little things, like blowng on fluffy flowers and skinny dippig.

Had to laugh out loud at Gus playing poker. Too funny! I could totally imagine the shocked faces of the others as he cleaned up. Looks like they are going to have to practise a bit. ;)

Loved this chapter. A much needed sense of peace for all. I guess we'll see what happens when they get back to life in the Pitts. See what challenges lay ahead for them. At least there's the knowledge that they will always have this place to get away from the stresses. I'm sure they will be taking  advantage of it.

Well done!! Already looking forward to the next chapter.

cheers

Elaine

Elaine,

Brian needed a break and to see how much fun it could be just to be together as a family.

Matt really was a card shark at that age. He loved to play and was good, even then.

I can't stop laughing.  Gus needs special pants now. HaHaHa.

Wow Lorie!  I think I've actually seen him play on TV before.

Thanks for a great update.

Author's Response:

Jessica,

Gus certainly is a trip.

More soon.

Matt has been on TV several times. It's certainly better than watching it live. I did that once. I love my son, but watching him, or anyone, play live is about as exciting as watching paint dry. Plus it makes me cry because he really is very sweet when someone gets knocked out of a tournament. I'm so proud of the man he has become. The best part is that when I miss him I can put in Matt Stout Poker on you tube and see him whenever I want.

It should be called "The great adventures of Kinney boys into the Wild": wonderful, funny, full of joy and laughter!

It's amazing that Brian is discovering all the joys of "camping" with his son; they can share beautiful moments and enjoy the peace and absence of disturbances that exist in their usual places. Brian can take time to live basic joys. Justin already experienced that, but it has been on hold for so long. I love the family they have.

Thank you for bringing the "pokey dicks" again; now that Gus needs some special pants too, Brian is going to hope that this joke stays in their close family. I don't think the schoolteachers will see that as a just a joke, which it is.

It also shows that Gus needs to learn boundaries which Brian is teaching him with Justin's help. In each chapter, there is a new one: it will help Gus to build a solid and respectful personality while remaining a funny and free spirit.

Great job!

Author's Response:

Sno,

They certainly are having a lot of fun adventures together.

They will definitely have to explain things to Gus, especially things like 'pokey dicks'. Some things need to be for only at home. I (Lorie) had to explain to one of my son's before he started school that 'dammit' was not part of his name. He will be 35 this year and still looks at me and says 'what' if I say it.

Both men will help Gus and Molly to grow up to be wonderful people.

Wow.  Congratulation's Lorie.  Now about your story, I see this as a continuing story line as Brian learns how to deal with everyday problems.  You know skinny dipping, poision ivy, and card sharks for a son.  Great job.

Author's Response:

YumYum,

As wonderful as this story is, it will be ending soon.

Thanks, Matt is a great kid (and some of Gus' antics are from him).
