Michael will never learn.  Glad to see that Emmett, at least, gets it.

Justin is so smart, only he realized that he'd met the other parts of Brian.  Not even Mikey who claims to be Brian's 'best friend' realized.

We have three players featured on Brian's side.  Kaz, Cynthia and Ted.  Which is wonderful.  Then we have the truly bad guys, Jack, who is dead and Simpson, Brian's HS athletic coach.  What they did was painful to read.

Damn, I hate to think what it was that Jack did that caused this.

I'm glad Brian's getting help and that Ted's going to be let in on this.  Somehow I think Emmett should be in too.  I know I've read this but it's almost like reading it for the first time.  You remember bits and pieces.

OMG!  Knowing what happened and why still makes this chapter suspenseful.  I don't remember - does Trick know Justin?

You know this explains a lot of what I call discrepancies in the series.

Shades of Sybil.  Like Kaz, since he's going to be the one able to straighten this all out.  It's not going to be pretty.

Gotta love how Deb laid into Mikey.  Her concern for Brian was wonderful to see.  Kinney waking up with his Irish brogue - unsettling.  The clue to all this is in the phrase.  "But I don't remember anymore."

I know!  I know! <jumping up and down> But I have to reread it again.

I remember this.  What I can't understand is how Brian spent 6 months in juvey and nobody notice.  Deb should have had an inkling.

Sadly Justin returned to Pittsburgh while it seems that Brian is in New York.  Alone and with no memory of his life.  Boy, do you write a good story.

Mac.  Is that Brian?  I know that Besame did a story where Brian went into a fugue state and turned into a Mac.  Your story is different though.  It's very angsty and I fear for Brian.

Oh Lord, Brian's had a breakdown.  That it's taken this long for anyone to notice is terrible.

I've read this before and shall have the pleasure of reading it again here.  Where does Cynthia think he's at.  If anyone would know it should be her.

Wow, I love this story. I read it in one shot and I'm yearning for the next chapter.

Justin already has "murder" in his mind for Jack, I guess he now has another reason with the so called "best friend". The next reason will be when he meets with Cynthia and she tells about the link between the 3 events.

ooooo - I'm so angry I could spit - don't think I've been this angry - since the last time I read this - that selfish little man with no filter and ever less sense - 'he's my best friend...but I care only about myself and don't give a hoot about him except as it pertains to me...' - oh - I need a cold shower now - and not even for any life affirming reason...

I just keep reading and re-reading these chapters...'their kind of love was only a broken bone away from the kind of love Brian's parents had for him' - so profoundly true!

Author's Response:

Trying this again... I had one written and it flew off into the ozone somewhere!

I've never understood fans who give the family a total pass on their treatment of Brian, as if that's the way 'families' act, or Brian brought it on himself, or beause they were there for Brian as a child they aren't responsible for their abusive behavior as adults. Yes, I know Brian can be an asshole. That's a given, but he's merely the whipping boy so much of the time. It's painful to see that, especially from Deb.

Yes they are loving much of the time, but then again so are most abusive people. Just because someone doesn't always punch you in the gut doesn't mean it isn't abusive when they do punch you in the gut.

this chapter just tears me apart - Brian's anguish - Justin's feelings of guilt and betrayal - all so intense and gut churning - and its like we are there

I think this is one of my most favorite things right now about this site - I am spending time reading stories posted here, one at a time - and reliving moments while seeing something new on each page - the best of the best revisited yet fresh - what a treat!

so, while I can hardly stand Brian's pain - still I can't wait for each new chapter

Author's Response:

This is the beginning of the heartbreaking discoveries for Brian and Justin. Gotta love Alice, though. She is now Brian's savior.

I suffered for years from night terrors as an adult and the description of Brian in the dark is from my own experience with those terrors. Absolutely, paralyzingly terrifying.

Thank you again so much, Charle.

loving this story - always thrilled to see a story delve into that thing that is the mind of Brian Kinney and experience it in a whole new way - and this is definitely new - and intriguing - and truly insightful -

I get excited every time I get a notice of a new chapter - and am on the edge of my seat for more

thank you

I remember the immense support you gave me when I was originally writing this back in 2014. I'm so honored that you've continued to enjoy the story. :)

I've mean meaning to read this, Roni. I love this first chapter so much.

Author's Response:

So glad you are liking it. I will warn you that it is very angsty (but no original character deaths!). Let me know how you like it as you go on.

I am so happy to see that you are posting this story to our site, Roni! I LOVE this one soooo much. I am a sucker for Brian-in-peril stories, where we get to really explore him and that complicated brain of his. The plot is spectacular, and... I just can't say enough good things about it!!

Author's Response:

Wonderful to be here! This was my 'virgin' foray into fiction, actually, and I was stunned that so many readers liked it. Honored and humbled.  And yeah, that boy is crazy complicated!

Thank you for the very kind words.
