Epic story! I loved the various sides of Brian! Justin was so painfully shy and hurt it made me weep, but Brian brought him out of his 'dungeon' and shell.

I'm re-reading this so I can comment since I have some time today. This is off to a wonderful start. I really love how Brian tries to make Michael understand the benefits of moving to the 'wilds' of West Virginia. I bet a big part was simply to get away from Mikey! :) Glad to see Ted add his comments about how wise it was as an investment and that he would do it if he weren't allergic to manual labor. LOL! Even Emmett could see the prospects of the house. Michael will catch on eventually.

Now Brian knows that his 'ghost ' is a flesh and blood person living in his walls. But he doesn't seem to be freaking out over it like a normal person would be. Very curious. This story just gets more interesting by the minute! Can't wait to see what happens next!!!

It started like "The beauty and the whiny" and I so hope it will end (not that I'll be happy when it does) as "The beauty and the booty".
It seems that the manor has a live-in intruder/food stealer; I don't bet for rats (even if there might be a few in such a huge house) or racoons: they are not known for doing the dishes.
Intriguing... and I agree with Michael (for once), it's also spooky!

I think I spent too much time watching those 'Filp It' shows on cable when I was down in AZ visiting my step-dad this summer - yes, when you buy a house at auction, you get it 'as is' and everything inside is yours. Even, maybe, the ghosts that come with the property . . . TAG

Woman, this is so BLOODY GOOD. It's the first chapter and I am hooked already. I really love the idea of Brian taking a year off work to write, there is something kinda sexy about that.
