This is now and was then my favorite fic.  Today, I bawled like a baby at times reading it.  I think it's cathartic for me.

THank you - always.

This has immediately gone into my top ten QAF fics, and I must have read a couple of hundred now. It was both beautiful and painful to read, not least because of the way it turns its lens at the end onto the hideous inequity of the USs hate crime legislation. I'm so excited to have discovered this story and am really looking forward to exploring more of your fiction. Thank you for posting.

Damn, I can't say anything because of the tears in my eyes.  Why doesn't everyone have a chance to read this story.

I thought this story was amazing. At times very sad but equally full of love and hope. I really liked this thoughtful and caring Brian and in this instance, for once, I quite liked Michael too.

Is it weird how bloody proud I am of Taylor for getting up in front of everyone and telling her story??????

Author's Response:

I imagined her being the kind of precocious kid Justin would have been as a kid. He always struck me as an in your face type of guy. I wanted Taylor to have that kind of spirit. And no, it's not weird. At all. We need a lot more kids like that, I think.
