It's good for Gus to put words on his pain. Dr Turner reminds me of the one in Private Practice (Violet).

Brian is giving Mel some facts to think about when she will be in his loft.

Their first physical reconnection was great; I hope they will have more of them because it's the best way to express their feelings.

Wow!  That was a long and satisfying chapter. ;)  I'm glad Justin's not going.  Both of them need to be together while Brian starts the chemo.

I'm hoping Mel gets her act together and becomes the mom Gus needs.

Can't wait for the next update.

Hugs,
Jessica

Brian listened to Gus and that was why he went to help Mel, he is giving her the chance to face the truth which is that everything wrong in her life is because she chose to stay in a relationship that was out of steam a longtime ago.

She and Lindsay don't understand love because they see it as a competition not two people fighting together to make sure both are happy.

Mel blames Brian because it is easier than admitting she chose the wrong person and that she wished she had the balls to live her life as free as Brian.

Brian and Justin work because they don't live by society's rules and they are willing to compromise to make the other happy.

Lindsay is too busy trying to live the life her parents raised her in with everyone praising her for breathing and Mel wants to prove to every man that crosses her path that she is 10xs better than them in everything.

Too bad the kids got ignored in their quest to always be right and important to everyone.

Mel, Lindsay, Deb and Michael want applause and adoration for being in the room, but their lives revolve around Brian Kinney and the people who is allowed to be near him.

Without Brian they have to face the truth about the choices they made and the people they hurt and at the moment no one wants to face their real shelves.

Maybe Mel is ready but I kinda doubt it because she is still blaming Brian???

It would be nice if Mel sees that Gus is more important and does what needs to be done.  I'm so proud that Hunter wants Jenny in his life.  Brian and Justin are on the same page right now and it's nice to have friends like Ethan and Cody!

These last two chapters were explosive and have left me wanting MORE! That's certainly not hard to do with your writing since it is so fabulous <in my Emmett voice>!

I'm so happy that Gus is getting things out into the open. I really like Dr. Turner's approach to getting him to talk. The whole cancer arc is so true to life. I remember what it was like for my siblings and I after we found out about my dad, several years before he passed away from two forms of cancer. We were adults, but like Gus here, we had a hard time deciphering between chemo's uses. Also like him, for a time my older brother and sister thought that if they didn't speak about it, it didn't exist. It was such a reality check for them when they realized the side effects after dad had started treatment. Whereas my sister and I lived in the same house as our Folks, they didn't. So seeing dad after the first few treatments meant that they couldn't pretend anymore. But back to the story...

It also had to be hard to process and reconcile what he's heard from Mel to the father that Brian is. I've always hated that she would say things about Brian's sex life when she wasn't squeaky clean herself. Not only that, but she was also ill-informed of his reasons for being the way he is. Besides, it's not as if he was cheating on anyone <cough, cough Munchers> so really who was he harming? I think Brian hit the nail on the head this chapter when he asked her if she was jealous because she wasn't in a position to do the same. I've always thought that about her, even throughtout the series. After all, it was the only thing she ever really found fault with him about.

As for the fight at Muncher Mansion, okay....so I actually cheered when Lindsay got slapped since I've felt like doing that to her since the start of this fic. But the fact that Michael did it to her and she said NOTHING against him???? Well SLAP her ass AGAIN!!! I can't believe the crap she, Michael and Deb were able to pull, especially after Mel defended the shrew she calls her wife! I really hope that Mel takes all that Brian has said to her while Ted bailed her out to heart. I also hope that Mel gets a bit honest herself and tells Brian about just why and what stage-bitch Lindsay has been up to regarding Justin. If there are any bills in Mel's name within that house though, Mel should call and discontinue the service immediately. Hopefully that would include the cable/internet bill, phone service and lights. Lindsay shouldn't be allowed to continue living off of Mel and Brian while she continues to weave her webs of deception.

Michael and Deb are still pathetic! I wonder if there is a way to have them arrested for stalking since their refusal to leave the station at the mention of Brian showing up basically constitutes as that. I really can't wait to see how Justin is going to deal with them and Lindsay. I don't think he'll have much trouble out of Mel going forward if Brian's plan works out the way it should, but the other three...yeah something needs to be done ASAP!

I'm glad that Justin found an alternative to going to London himself. His job requires the ultimate focus and resolve; there's no way that could happen if he's worried about the goings on at home. Also having Nick and Daphne close by is going to help a lot. Brian is right, it's time for him and Daph to resolve their differences. And WHOAAAAAAA what hotness at the end of the chapter! Hello Mr. Happy Hard-on. It was scorching but also very loving and touching to have them come together again when a lot of the things they've been holding back from each other has been said in the manner that it was meant, not necessarily given. It wasn't the result of an argument, but relief and the realization that they didn't want to lose each other through the actions of other people. It was powerful in that way.

Looking forward to MORE!

Happy Writing and HUGS,

~Nichelle

Wow, what a powerful chapter.  This story just gets better and better.  It is one that I can't wait to see completed, but will miss terribly when that happens.  You are an amazing writer.
