Really nice chapter. I'm glad Brian had the boys to help him understand, and get a grip on the whole 'feeling like he did something wrong'. Nobody could connect with him like that, unless it happened to them to. I also think it has a lot to do with them being family. Brian has never trusted easily, so with the boys being his nephews, he would attempt to listen to them a little better.

Thanks for the chapter update. I hope life is getting easier for you.

Peter and John coming to talk to Brian as good they all have to say, shout, believe that they aren't to blame for others misery and self-loathing.

They are loved because they send love out into the world and they send more then they expect in return.

Deb, Michael, Joan, Jack, John Senior and Lindsay chose to see the burdens around their neck instead of the blessings they were given, and they chose to punish the ones they considered blights to their happiness, instead of looking in the mirror and seeing that every bad thing that has happened is their fault, not an innocent baby who did not ask to be born.

Deb used Brian to save herself from facing the truth that she crippled Michael before he was born and by doing that she crippled herself, by treating Michael like an angel despite his bratty behavior it as easy to put the blame on an abused kid who saw a crumb of love as more precious than gold.

Deb saw Brian as her escape from having to always cater to Michael then when Brian started rising above Michael she tried to knock him down, but Brian always had more strength so when he achieved his dreams she saw Brian's money as hers and his reputation as her due for bandaging up, feeding him and giving him shelter.

And Michael as her minion saw Brian as his and expected his due too for Allowing Brian into his life.

All they saw is what they could take but none of them saw The Real Brian, because if they acknowledged how strong Brian he really become despite their attempts then he would leave them behind and they would be nothing.

See it isn't just the money they want they want the charisma, intelligence, kindness, strength and tenacity Brian has to fight to LIVE.

They want the polish Brian was born with but they never achieved.

Hell even Lindsay craved it and she was born with privilege, but despite the silver spoon she couldn't pull off the inherent grace Brian possessed, she used trickery and her open legs to get ahead, Brian did it with sheer determination.

Brian never expected the world to hand him anything which is why he cherishes everything he gets, because he earned it from.his reputation on Liberty Avenue to his reputation as an honest hardworking Adman, the others expect it to be handed to them on gold platters and don't appreciate what has already been given because they want more.

That is why they will always lose and Brian will always win. 

They need Brian in order to be seen but Brian didn't need them at all.
