Hej! After reading and falling in love with “Inescapable” I was looking forward to read another one of your stories. Wonderful first chapter. Again, your writing-style is amazing and you characterized them so well!
You choose an interesting and difficult topic. Not only have I had an alcoholic with a successful withdrawal in my family, also a good friend of mine died a few years ago because of alcoholism, so I know how difficult it is, not only to stop drinking but also to never drink again and nevertheless to have a normal life, a normal social life.
Justin is taking a drastic step. He is very brave and it’s great to see that he cares so much about Brian that he’s willing to risk “whatever” they have at this point of the story. And what a terrible and painful scene when Brian’s having those nightmares about his father (?) hurting his sister (?). Or this: „I fucking hate you”.
A good choice Justin confessed in Emmett – he’s a real good friend. And despite this difficult topic, you manage to bring in humorous moments as well.
I’m sorry about my long review, but there is so much going on in this chapter and I’m very curious how things will continue….

I am re-reading this again as it's one of my all-time favourite stories, and it stills gives me goosebumps. Justin was so brave for doing what he did, and I am so glad he had Emmett there to help him, he needed a friend around to love on him a little.
No matter how many times I read this I still get nervous seeing him bump into Brian at the end lol

Loving this turn of events. That Emmett and Vic are confidants. That Brian isn't still chained up. That you manage to get Justin into Deb's house without him having to run away. Brian being an alcoholic figures just right.
