Kellydeer,

Always loved when Justin threw himself at Brian and he smiled and caught him, so sweet.

Who wouldn't want to hang onto that body.

A fantastic ending.  The only ones missing were Michael and Ben.

Author's Response:

Phyllis,

Michael has been ostracized from the family since it was discovered that he tried to split up Brian and Justin. After what Michael did, Ben divorced him and moved away.

Talk first react later.  Ted needs to keep his foot out of his mouth. Ha!

Like Justin assumed, all first time new parents go through trying to find for themselves.

Author's Response:

Sherry,

Hopefully he will get better about it.

Sometimes it's hard to control what you say in the middle of an arguement.

Hopefully Justin will remember this when he needs it.

Sadly their fight was pretty normal for new parents, but they are now on the right track with the help of Brian and Justin who need the practice.

Author's Response:

Phyllis,

You're right about that.

Brian and Justin don't yet know that they will need the practice.

Great chapter.  Have always loved Ted & Blake together even with their problems.  And, you expressed just what it feels like to have a baby changing your entire life.  Great job.

Author's Response:

Marilynne,

Glad you enjoyed the chapter.

When I (Lorie) had my first one, my sister-in-law took him every weekend from the time he was six weeks old. She knew she wouldn't be having kids of her own and wanted to see what having one around was like. He came home with new toys and clothes every week. Made it a lot easier on us.

Crisis averted.

It's amazing how people think Brian and Justin are together only for sex, while they have a deep connection on many levels and they challenge each other.

Author's Response:

Claire,

Brian and Justin share a deep, soul mate love for each other.

They are also both very generous and willing to help their friends.

They both know what it feels like to be unwanted and helping their friends makes them feel good.

I'm surprised that Justin openly talks to Blake, knowing how he has been brought up, not that he is shy about sex, otherwise he wouldn't have lasted with Brian.

It's funny how he sees Ted.

Poor guys, they are exhausted.

Author's Response:

Claire,

Blake was brought up in a strict Catholic home. Sex was not something that was ever discussed.

Justin knows that Ted is a good man but he's not someone he could ever see as a sex partner.

They are like most new parents. Very few are lucky enough to have someone willing to take the baby away every weekend.

Poor Ted and Blake! I'm not sure that Brian and Justin are the best advice LOL They could offer them a weekend to 2 from time to time!

Author's Response:

Marie-France,

That's their default answer, sex can fix anything.

Ted and Blake will get exactly what they need.

My god Michael is so mean! it is pure venom, he always wants to talk about the past and does not see that everyone is moving forward and changing except him! Brian is always generous, he takes care of his nephew!

Author's Response:

Marie-France,

Most of the time Michael is nothing but a mean, spiteful, nasty little bitch. This is why he has been ostracized by the whole family. His mother only puts up with him because she gave birth to him. He had a good example growing up, and instead of following that example he turned into an entitled brat.

Brian is a loving and generous man in spite of his horrible upbringing.

Poor guys. I feel so bad for them.

Let's hope Blake tries some of Justin's tricks tl get Ted intetested and Ted buys some of those energy drinks.

Instead of offering to get them a nanny, let Brian offer to get them an experieced babysitter maybe every other weekend or so. No not offer but maybe bring him/her to Ted's one day to meet.

The surprise party was very sweet of the gang.

Author's Response:

Sherry,

Ted and Blake will be fine very soon.

Emmett loves to have a reason to throw a party.

Poor Ted and Blake.  Maybe one day a week to get away together would help, after all there are plenty of friends who would willingly watch little Pheonix one day a week.

Author's Response:

Phyllis,

Don't worry, the new daddies will be taken care of soon.

Great update.  I love that the story focuses on Ted & Blake with enough Brian & Justin to make me happy.  Good writing.

Author's Response:

Marilynne,

So happy you're enjoying the story.

Can't leave our favorite couple out of the story, even if it's not directly about them.

Are we going to see what Mikey does to brain and Justin from teds point of view or does it between this one and I clover you

Author's Response:

Tracy,

All the Bittersweet Universe stories fit together at different places in each story.

Michael was pretty much ostracized by everyone but his mother after what he tried to do to Brian and Justin.

Unfortunately that doesn't stop him from showing up and trying to cause trouble when he sees an opportunity.

The beginning was really violent with Michael's speech. He doesn't think, that's obvious, that homophobes could speak about him with the same tone and he would find that unacceptable. As for the "concerned citizen for the truth", that put a bad shadow on what Brian did to save the Avenue. I hope someone will get back at him for that.

I'm so relieved that that adoption was granted: they both deserved this joy in their lives.

Author's Response:

Claire,

The weasel doesn't think, he just does things that he thinks will get him attention. Ignoring him will annoy him more.

Making the letter look like it came from more than one person probably made him think it would carry more weight.

They will love their son with all their hearts.

Fucking Michael. Someone has to do something. Coming to Ted's and spouting hiss filth. The letter trying to ruin Ted and Blake so they couldn't adopt Phoenix. Just plain nasty.

Love Judge Dennis!

Brian, gotta love him. Going out of his way to make sure Phoenix has all he needs to live a happy healthy life including having one of his father at home with him for the first six months of his life.

Great job. This story is one of my favorites.

Author's Response:

Sherry,

Some people just want attention. The best thing is to ignore them.

They got a great judge.

Brian is and always was very generous.

Glad you like our story.
