I really liked this chapter. Great to see Joan sober and trying to make amends to some extent. She can't undo the hurt but maybe, by showing a willingness to change and be non-judgemental, her previous future as a lonely old hag will be changed for the better.

Well look at Joan Kinney go. Walks into a police station ready to sever ties with her daughter, which she did oh so well. That stupid bitch Claire just wasn't as smart as she thought she was and caught herself in all her bullshit.
Anyway, Joanie walks in with a mission and walks out completely the mission and a date. Yay for her.
As for the boys, they'll be looked after and she can enjoy her date. They already have much in common. Richard could help and be like a sponser to her. Kindred souls so to speak.

Oh Nichelle... Another great chapter. I'm glad Joan has grown-up, realizing her mistakes, and reaching out, trying to rectify them. And now, flirting her way toward a relationship. Hahaha... for Claire. She might have always thought herself to be a smart business woman, but only a silly whore is stupid enough to spill her guts the way she did. Did she not notice how put together Joan was, and she wasn't drunk, not even tipsy? She explained extortion from Craig, Michael, and Lindsay, but she never gave an explanation about Lance Freeman. Hmm... Claire's Power of Attorney... Is that in regards to her children too? Thank you for this truly amazing story. You are an AWESOME author. How you can come up with so many plot twists, is right up there to thee amazing Mary Higgins Clark...
