Great, amazing chapter! I love how you described Brian giving birth to Luke, how he shows his emotions and his love, how he thinks about Justin... But these are also all the moments which are forever lost to Justin - and that's what makes this chapter also so damned terrible sad. And Jennifer... I still can't accept her apologies and explanations for not telling Justin. All the others... I somehow can understand, but Jennifer, I don't know why I feel that way... Maybe that's why: I think you have characterized all the characters of the show so fabulously and I could imagine them all to act just like you let them. But not Jennifer. I just can't imagine her not telling Justin something so important (although you have given her the right reasons).... and it's your story, but in my opinion, it would have been better if she woulnd't had been included in the whole betrayal.

I could kill Lindsay for playing mother and wife... And I asked myself how Mel dealed with this. She stays away... Why? Because she's working? She could have joined them on their visitations to Brian. But I'm sure, Lindsay would have had something against it... That bitch! She's trying to take Justin's place... i'm very curious how this continues and when Brian will start to realise what Lindsay tries to accomplish... Thanks for sharing and warmest regards!

I can see your point when it comes to Jennifer, but I wanted to include her in the betrayal, so it would be a complete betrayal for Justin when he came back from New York. I like drama and angst and wanted to go all the way on this story ;) 

As for her character here - she herself got married too young and got children instead of focusing on her career and herself and she didn't want Justin to make the same mistake. Obviously that would have implied that Brian would have treated Justin the way Craig had treated her, but that's another story. She wanted Justin to have a chance to further his career and his art and in the end agreed with Brian that having a baby might have shifted his focus away from his art.

Yes, why does Mel stay away? Good question! We'll hear more about Mel and Lindsay in upcoming chapters, but... lets just say things aren't going as smoothly in Canada as they might want everyone to believe. There will come a point when Brian will grow suspicious of Mel's absence as well and it will be discussed.

As will Lindsay's role in Luke's life ;)

The baby is finally here.  Why the name Luke?  I'm glad that Brian is happy, but sad that Justin doesn't know.

It's just a name that I like ;) No real reason for it! I was thinking about what name and knew I wanted Victor as a second name because of Brian's connection to Vic and Taylor as his hyphenated last name because he was Justin's son, but the first name is really just because I like it ;)
