"I know, but this is going to destroy Debbie..."

That is like a slap in the face...stealing Justin's son, that wouldn't destroy Justin...sheesh.

Michael, Lindsay and Debbie all deserve forgiveness time and time again, but Justin is barely an after thought.

I don't like this Brian at all, not at all.

bec

Author's Response:

In Brian's thinking Justin couldn't be hurt by something he didn't know and we can't forget that Brian genuinely thought that Justin wanted his career in New York and had chosen that... Once Justin found out about Luke and Brian saw the damage he had done to Justin, he realised how wrong he had been in his thinking and doing...

Of course you are entitled not to like this Brian, but as I mentioned before, I mostly just felt sorry for him. So messed up by his parents and friends that he never really had a chance at a normal life :(

Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it :)

My Goodness! This was nothing unexpected, but nevertheless it's still so hard to read it. Excellent writing - how you manage to let us feel Brian's hurt and fear but also relief in this scene where he stands at Luke's crib. And here saying "I'm sorry" has nothing to do with "bullshit". And I don't want to imagine what it must feel for Brian hearing Michael saying all those pathetic, stupid and cruel things... What a terrible and painful moment! Poor Brian! And I'm very curious about Ben's reaction! And again, Brian and also Luke (and also we readers) can be so damned happy that there are at least a few normal humans around Brian like Ted and Blake. It's hard to imagine what Brian would have done without these two and without Carl. Looking forward for tomorrow! Warmest regards!

Author's Response:

No, we all knew what was going to happen, but still it was hard to write for me as well :/ That scene with Brian at Luke's crib broke my heart when I wrote it. I felt soooo bad for Brian and that I put him through all of that :/ But then again, I am evil and I like drama *lol*

We'll hear about Ben's reaction soon!

Ted and Blake have become the friends that Lindsay and Michael have always claimed to be but have never been. They are just there to offer support and assistance and they just help when it's needed and they don't expect anything in return for it. They are true friends :D And Brian needs friends just like anyone else even though he might not like to admit it ;)

More will be up later :D

wow, great chapter.  Can Mikey be any stupider?????  Great writing.

Author's Response:

Hmmmmm, can he? Is that a challenge? In that case: Challenge accepted :P

I am glad you liked the chapter! More will be up soon :)

Oh My Frickin God! Michael is a delusional, sick bastard. How could he not know he was admitting to assessory kidnapping? The man is so SO STUPID! But Luckily, they agreed to call Carl. Although we do know now, that Brian is correct in saying it would destroy Debbie. Because it did. Why else would she stick up for her son, instead of Brian. If Michael hadn't told her to leave the prison and she could have stayed in her son's good graces, would she have ever taken the chance to call Brian? I really don't know how Brian could have forgiven her for turning her back on him. Carl must have been so disappointed in her.

Anyway, I hope your next chapter shows the DNA's results, and the arrests of Lindsay and Michael... and hopefully starting the court proceedings.

I wonder how Emmett wasn't ever aware of this? It must have been in all the papers and on television.  Hmm...

Looking so forward to Wednesday.

Hugs, Cathy

Author's Response:

Yes, that sounds like Michael. Absolutely... He probably didn't think that his "best friend" would ever go against him and would actually help the police instead of helping Michael...

As for Debbie - we'll see her reaction soon. And as for would she have contacted Brian if Michael hadn't told her to leave prison? Hmmm, not easy to answer... My gut would tell me no, but I might be wrong. Then again I have never been a big fan of the Debbie Novotny brand of conditional love with a price tag... And she will find that out very soon :P

As for Emmett - news like this doesn't necessarily have to make it on the front pages. In a lot of underage kidnappings the identities of the children and people involved can be kept secret and are. I know that in America it's pretty common to have everything spread out over the news, but I know from a lawyer friend that there can be requests by lawyers to keep files locked to protect underage kids and lets just assume that was done here for Luke's sake ;) I am from Germany and for me it's honestly so weird to have complete names, addresses and life stories planted all over the news. The best you will get in Germany is a first name and then the first letter of the last name and that it's. So it would be like: The kidnapping of Luke K.... bla bla bla...

Anyway, we're talking an Mpreg story here where a man has given birth to a baby - lets just assume the baby's privacy was protected by the FBI and law enforcement and that's why Emmett never knew ;) Or maybe he and Drew were travelling with the Iron Men at the time and so he missed the news in Pittsburgh as it never made national news. Or he was just so busy with his catering business that he didn't have time to check the news... In any case: Emmett didn't know because he had removed himself from the Liberty Avenue gang and didn't want to be involved in their drama.

Thanks for your comment! More will be up on Wednesday :)

I can't believe Michael's stupidity.  Looking forward to what Carl suggests and how Deb takes the news.

Author's Response:

Well, Michael has always been a stupid idiot. I think by now he's the only one who believes his own mantra about Brian and the Stud of Liberty Avenue...

We'll find out about Deb's reaction soon!

More will be up soon :D

This is great writing.

I hope that you do a courtroom scene with the 2 deluded idiots trying to justify themselves in their own warped way, and their reactions when thier sentences are handed down! and as much as some may rail against it ( Mel & Deb), they should know you don't mess with the Feds!!

Thanks hun,

Deb

Author's Response:

Awww, thank you :)

There will be a courtroom scene, yes... Though I have to warn that I am not a lawyer and don't work in law enforcement, so it might not be 100% accurate ;)

More will be up soon :)

What an ass Michael can be! So relieved that Brian is back with his son and not alone to deal with this situation. I hope the recording will be used.

Author's Response:

Yes, Michael is the worst of the worst :/

We'll see about the recording soon! Carl will know what to do with it :)
