Hi again! Another great intense chapter! And again, what a beautiful and cute scene you created here with Brian with Luke lying there next to him. I don't want to imagine how Brian would have survived those nights if Luke had been moved to a foster-family. And have I told you how much I like Blake... In some way he reminds me so much of Justin in this chapter.

"He didn't like that I didn't live my life according to his ideas"... Hm, sounds a little bit familiar to me... But I don't want to compare the situation between Brian and Justin any longer with the situation between Brian and Lindsay and Michael. I just want to see them punished for what they did to Brian all those years and now. And I really don't know if prison is the right punishment. In some way, similar to Brian and Debbie and also Jennifer, they need help. They are both living in their own created, crazy worlds, they're really disturbed. I'm not so sure about Lindsay, but I think Michael is totally out of his mind, he's truelly not getting it. I think, he won't understand why, when they'll come to take him in. And don't get me wrong. He and also Lindsay, they deserve everything what will happen to them and I'm looking forward to this trial. But the one other person, next to Brian, I'm feeling very sorry about, is Gus. And I love Brian for immediately thinking about Gus and asking Ted to contact Mel.

Debbie - what should I say. We already know a little bit about the things which will happen between her and Brian and I'm somehow glad that, in the end, she changed her mind and Brian was able to forgive her, but reading how she behaves and acts here in this chapter, it's hard to imagine how this was even possible. That she really expected Brian to help Michael in this situation, to get him a lawyer, to stand by his side... This is so crazy... When she slapped him and he just answered with Jack, I thought, oh my goodness, now she has to stop. She just ought to know better. And then, she really wanted to slap him again?! How crazy! Thanks again for whomever, that Brian has Ted and Blake by his side. And I'm so proud of Ted, how he stands his ground against Deb and is there for Brian. It was really time for someone to finally say these things to her, even though ... She doesn't seem to understand what Ted is talking about... As I said before, great, amazing chapter - the scene with Deb was very exciting and you pictured her so well! Awesome! Warmest regards!

Author's Response:

Hi, thanks for another great comment - I just love reading your opinions on these characters, the story and everything really :)

I thought with all the drama, we all deserved a bit of a break and what better than some Brian/Luke cuteness to help us through the bad times? Nothing to cheer you up like a hunky daddy with his baby ;)

The thing about Blake is that I really liked him on the show. Despite everything. Especially when Ted went through his rehab and Blake was there to help him. We got to see a stronger, more mature Blake than the one we met first. But obviously he wasn't perfect and it was just too soon for them at the time. I was really happy when it was implied in the season finale that they would end up together. I always felt like Blake and Ted made a cute couple and that Blake really loved Ted. And him having become a drug counsellor showed that there must have been someone really smart and strong hidden behind the boyish features that we unfortunately never got to see on the show.

Yes, I kind of see Blake like a Justin like character in a way because to me they have very similar characteristics. They are both dating way older, way more "successful" (in a money way) men, they both came into an already existing group of friends and neither of them were really accepted by that group. They always remained kind of outsiders. Blake due to his drug history and what had happened between him and Ted in season 1 and Justin due to Lindsay's and especially Michael's jealousy and him being seen as a "small boy" especially in the beginning.

I do think they have a lot in common and I think they could have made great friends. I think it would have made sense for them to bond over their "outsider" status in the group of friends they were in because of their partners. I know they become close friends in a lot of post-season 5 stories and that's really something I could have seen happening!

Well, as we've said before, there are definite similarities in the situation between Michael and Lindsay and Brian and Justin and Brian. For me a main difference will always be that Brian acted out of love though. Does that excuse anything? No way! But he only ever wanted to do the right thing. Lindsay and Michael, even though they might call it love, wouldn't know what love was if it hit them right in the face and what they did was only for their own best, but they never considered Brian in their thoughts.

Yes, poor Gus is going to suffer and it won't be easy on Brian to see his sonny boy go through that. His mother going to prison for trying to kidnap his baby brother... that's something that will have a big impact on poor Gus :(

Debbie... well, we've talked about her before. As nice and caring as she might be, I've always felt very ambivalent about her. I always felt that her love was a very "conditional love" and she liked to bring up the "you owe us" a lot which was something I hated in her... Right now her relationship with Brian has hit rock bottom and it won't get better during the trial, that much is for sure. We'll see how and why Brian even considers forgiving her later on, but believe me, she won't just get off with a "I am sorry, Brian".

Ted is a great friend! The kind of friend Brian needs right now and the friend Michael and Lindsay could have only dreamed of being... I just love Ted :D

I realize that Carl is worried about Deb but fair is fair and Deb is not being fair.  I'm so glad that Ted told her off.

Author's Response:

No, she's not fair at all :/ She's once again in her "protect Michael at all costs"-mode and nothing will change her mind :(

Ted is a good friend - a true friend. Just what Brian needs right now :)

Just one more thing I thought of. How could Brian automatically assume Melanie wasn't a part of this? After all, Michael admtted that Lindsay was taking Luke to Toronto. Shouldn't he have assumed that Melanie was apart of this? After all, how was Lindsay suppose to explain everything when she showed up with the baby to Melanie, if Melanie wasn't a part of this? I think he should have given more caution to the situation than that, and instead have had the FBI escort them back to Pittsburgh. Hmm... Just a 'What If' scenario...

Cathy

Author's Response:

I think deep down, even though he has never liked Melanie, he has always known that she would not get involved in something illegal like this. She is a lawyer, she works to uphold the law, not break it. Or maybe he's just giving her the benefit of the doubt for the sake of the kids...

Or maybe he just wanted to make sure the kids would be with their family and he would have confronted her then.

So many possibilities, but we'll hear from Melanie very, very soon!

WOW! Just WOW! Debbie has gone completely over-the-top. I so wish Carl had gone with her when she went to see Brian. Which, I'm sure she didn't tell him, but he had to have known she would. SLAPPING Him?  Hard across the face? Trying to guilt him with her standed, "YOU OWE HIM. HE'S YOUR BRST FRIEND!" bullshit. Telling him he has to pay for a lawyer for Michael. Geez! Dense much, woman? How do her and Carl survive this? If I was Carl, I would have left home. He had to have put up with some major bitching and sticking up for her 'baby'. Refusing to believe Michael was wrong, as we all know Michael can do no wrong in her eyes. Probably trying to get everyone to see that he was just confused. How could she forget the way Michael treated Brian when he was pregnant, or even not acknowledging he had a baby. About Michael calling CPS? I suppose she turns her back on Ben and Hunter too, when they refuse to support Michael in this. I know I could have never forgiven her for what she said, and her actions following. Wake up and smell the roses. I suppose she will be belligerant in the court room too.

Oh well... I'm so glad today was Wednesday, and happier yet when Sunday comes, so we get another installment on the whole kidnapping progression. Thank you for this wonderful, awesome story. I am really enjoying it.

XOXO ~ Cathy

Author's Response:

Are we really surprised by Debbie's actions? Can't say I was :/

Dense indeed... and blind to the reality that's now right in front of her. Her son is not the innocent baby she'd like him to be :(

As for her and Carl - that will be covered later on in the story. And you're on the right track. It won't be easy for Carl to stay with her when she's like this.

More will be up on Sunday :)

Great chapter.  Is it any wonder that Mikey is like he is with a mother like Deb.  Love this story.  Now off to read Back for Good.  Thanks for making my day posting new chapters.

Author's Response:

Nope, she certainly is to blame for some of his issues... Always protecting him, never letting him face the consequences of his actions, treating him like a child instead of the adult he's supposed to be...

I am glad that you like the story :)

Will make your day again on Sunday with more chapters :D
