Very lovely chapter, nice and relaxed. Brian and Justin both get a break from the horror of the side-effects.

Glad Emmett and Lindsay didn't notice anything different about Brian. Was a little surprised that Emmett didn't but not so with Lindsay; she's focused on her life at the moment and what she's done to her relationship with Melanie.

Really, really ,really happy that Michael wasn't at the dinner.  He probably wouldn't have noticed anything wrong with Brian because he would have been focused on Justin and getting him to Hollywood to make Rage into a movie. That would not have gone over too well with Brian if he found out from Michael that Justin was putting his life on hold for him.

Bravo to Cynthia!!! She took the bull by the horns, so to speak, and showed Brian that she wouldn't back down where his health is concerned and that she and Ted could run the company until he was ready. Again, bravo!!

This is just what my heart needed.

*Hugs*

Deb

Author's Response:

I think we all needed a little break ;) Me included...haha. I think one of the hardest things about this story has been managing ALL the characters at once. I know I glossed over Emmett...but I sort of didn't want another issue for Brian. Glad this story is all you wanted it to be! Hugs!

Uh oh, Brian is gonna be so pissssssssssssssssed at you, Justin.

Wanna know a secret? I get so excited by these updates, but I sometimes force myself to wait a day to read them because I don't want to have to wait too long for the next chapter, which makes NO sense at all LOL. But it's like I love knowing I have a new chapter waiting for me :)

I love how gentle Debbie is in this, she truly does care about Brian... and while we did see that in the show, you show it better :D

Also, I love me a little Brian and Gus time, even if it was short lived. You can tell how happy that little boy makes him.

God, that call at the end though, Brian is gonna be so mad, like ass kicking mad. Eeeep

Author's Response:

Haha, you have way more willpower than I do or ever will have! There are certain stories I read right now, even if its 5 am and I woke up and checked my email. LOL

I love love the Debbie and Brian relationship, if y'all couldn't tell. ;) Glad you loved it too. I know some see it as OOC, but I feel like this side of her is there in the show too. At least, I see it. And we had to have a Gus appearance!

As for Brian and Justin...we shall seeeeee...soon... ;)

Although he’d probably never say that.  Brian really needs to quit with those thoughts. Learn to talk to Justin. The sky won't fall down, Mr. Kinney.

Yes Brian... You heard Lindsay correctly. She slept with a man. Just how long before Lindsay shows up not being able to take Mel's silence towards her?

Michael. Now, THAT'S a problem. Hopefully when Brian wakes up he'll think it was all a dream. But this is just going to open a whole other can of worms. He's probably on his way to the loft right now. Demanding Brian to do something because Justin is crushing his dream.  Doesn't matter Michael... It won't come to fruition anyway, even if Justin goes out there.

Glad Cynthia put her foot down. Brian needs to let everything go, until this radiation crap is done.  As stubborn as Brian is, 'A man needs to know when to ask for help.'

So happy you liked my Bunny idea. How that came to me by your one sentence is still a mystery to me. I've written a few Plot Bunnies, but they are usually something I've had to give some thought to, before actually writing them out. Apparently your writing has sparked something in me with this story. I'd love to see it in print. You could really make it come to life, and I know it won't be a disappointment. Not everyone can write a cancer fic as compelling and believable as you can. So thank you for even considering it. I really wasn't sure if it was kosher to plug a story, but this story does deserve recognition.

Loving this story. I was glad to see Brian enjoying a half-way normal day and went to Debbie's for dinner. I can easily see Brian getting cabin fever. He's not the type to stay at home 24/7. Thanks for the quick update, and still looking forward to reading more.

XOXO ~ Cathy

Author's Response:

Yeah, this chapter was definitely much lighter than the last...but I promise the drama is not over. The most intense chapter, in my opinion, is yet to come. I made myself cry writing part of it. So that's usually a pretty good indication. ;)

And I definitely want to write your bunny! No promises it'll be immediate, because I have some other things I want to work on first, but my brain is definitely working on it, and I'm taking notes. I'm glad that my story is coming out compelling and believable...I've put a lot of research into trying to make it as right as I can, because that's the kind of person I am. If I'm not doing that, it's not for lack of effort! LOL

I have no idea if it's kosher or not to plug a story in a plot bunny, but I really appreciate that you love my story that much. I'm honored that I inspired a plot bunny! This whole writing thing is still so surreal for me since I just got back into it in July after not doing any writing since college, 15 years ago. I started reading QAF fanfic and decided to try my hand at writing it...and now here we are, I've completed my first multichapter fanfic ever and almost done with the second.

I love hearing from readers, so I'm really glad you always comment! Thank you!

Lucky for Brian and Justin that Michael wasn't there for the dinner at Debbie's. Lindsay must have been self-absorbed not to see how bad Brian must have been looking.

A little lightness with Gus meeting his dad.

Author's Response:

Lindsay is pretty distracted right now, yes, since her relationship is falling apart. Mel isn't on bedrest yet at this point, so Lindsay just came to get out of the house. This chapter is overall a little lighter...just some plot movement and scenes I wanted to include.
