This was really good... thank you completing part two of this wonderful story, and I'm really looking forward to what "Husband" will bring.

Brian seems happy and content with his life. He has his son, his true friends, and his beloved.

I can just imagine old Carl getting down into playing and singing those old ballads... he must have been in heaven to have the young men playing and singing with him.

As wonderul as this whole chapter was... do we need to be worried about:

‘I’ll get my revenge, you just wait!’

That statement brings all sorts of horrors to the front of my mind. *Shudder*

HUGS ~Cathy

Author's Response: You're so welcome, I know it was a long time coming... But now that my muse is back, I'm inspired to keep writing. Yes, Brian is truly happy for the first time in his life. He's not only a great husband, he's a great father, much to his own surprise. He just needed someone to believe in him and Justin brings out his best. I think Carl is going to get along great with Brian, giving him the father figure he never had growing up. Should we worry about Michael? I'll have to see where my muse takes him. ha, ha, ha... Perfect reception. Mother Taylor certainly has good taste.

Oy! Michael's back. Just what nobody wants.

If Mel goes to the Vic Grasse house she'll definitely be able to help the others. It will be good for her.

Looking forward to part 3. It was nice to see this back.

Author's Response: Jennifer has a great since of style, giving Brian and Justin just what they wanted. Yep, I really need to lock Michal's ass up. I'm sure it won't be long before he violates his parole. As Mel comes to grips with her disabilities, she'll find her way back to being an attorney helping others at the Vic Grassi House. The Best thing to happen to Brian was meeting Justin and doing everything he could to keep him near and Never Let Him Go.

Brian is finally seeing that he is worth love, true friendship and acceptance from being who he is not what others demand from him.

Michael will never face a reality that doesn't include Brian catering to his demands just like Lindsay who would rather live in fantasy land then face that she Never Had Brian just his friendship just like Michael which neither have now.

Jennifer was completely determined to have one thing her way while also pleasing Brian and Justin it was just the way they all wanted it.

Carl will be a welcome addition to this family and Melanie will find herself again as she goes through therapy and takes he time t think about what and who she wants to be in the New chapter she is writing for herself.

Can't Wait For What Is Coming Next!

Thanks For the Update 😃

Author's Response: Justin's acceptance, and love has allowed Brian to open up his heart. Helping him to let go of his past and embrace his future. He's so much better off without Michael and Lindsay in his everyday life. Unfortunately, they'll both still be on the outer fringes looking in. Jennifer wasn't happy being excluded from their wedding. But with Emmett's help she made their reception everything they could have ever wanted, while still keeping Brian's since of style. I feel bad for what I did to Melanie. But like you said, she now has a chance to recreate herself into who she wants to be going forward. Later Sweetheart ~ Kathleen

Such a wonderful chapter... so very much going on. but, you know what my first thought was when I finished the chapter?  NO PICTURE! Kathleen's trademark was missing! Anyway...

Whoa... Jennifer really laid the Mama guilt on, didn't she? What a scene to come upon! I bet Brian is just going loovvveee the big celebration.

So, Kit came through with a very special, nice gift. Maybe if people gave him a chance... so he's eccentric...

Hopefully, Tannis and Phillip are far removed from the children's program. I wouldn't want my kids around them either.

I love the Gus angle in this story... along with Ted and Blake adopting. It's always a nice reprieve to read stories where there are lots of kids involved. (If this keeps going, I will have to put this one on my friends' rec list for family stories.)

It sounds like Debbie needs a better job than the diner. Hmm, there IS a daycare opening up... Fewer hours, less stress, better pay...

Justin's warehouse property. How very perfect for their home! They can design it specifically for the wants and needs. I remember early on how much Brian liked the space. And with a multimillionaire's money... no need to cut costs. (Daphne was hilarious btw.) Maybe Brian has an 'in' with the hospital for her. Maybe some of the ladies at Kinnetik could introduce Daphne around.

Thank god the hospital called Ted. Her parents had no right to do that! I remember when my neck was broke and some family members didn't think I could still take care of myself. Thank heavens I was still of sound mind. It was slow moving, but I managed. Halos are the epitome of evil... but manageable.

Mel maybe realizes Brian wasn't the devil incarnate she believed all those years. When you don't have Lindsay causing contention, she will realize just how wrong she has been all these years. She can now use her lawyer's degree for some really good work. Until you, yourself are handicapped, you have no idea what people are going through.

Thanks for the wonderful update.

HUGS ~Cathy

Author's Response: I'm so far behind on responding to my comments. Sorry, holds head in shame... No Pic at the end. I know... I've tried to contact Kinnetik Dreams Admin, because I can't post pics and banners anymore. I have no idea why? Still waiting for a response. Yes, it seems that Jennifer's wasp upbringing included managing your children through guilt. But, she does have a point. Kit is so eccentric, but maybe with work he could fit on the avenue. Oh my God! Can you blame Brian, Tannis and Phillip what a nightmare. Gus really is so adorable. It seem this fic has the all boys embracing their futures as they get older. Okay, maybe not all of them... Justin's warehouse is going to be perfect. It's huge, and Brian can have everything he's every dreamed of. It's on the Avenue, and within walking distance to most everything. I know I was writing Mel as a raving bitch early on in this fic. But like you said, with Lindsay out of the picture, and her facing a new reality, she's now able to see that she may have misjudged Brian. I like the idea of her changing her law practice to help and support those with disabilities. Thanks for commenting Darling! Hugs ~ Kathleen

Brian is moving forward with his life while leaving Michael and Lindsay to figure out their way while he lives his life Happily.

Melanie seeing the Devil she always assumed Brian was isn't the man who is willing to help her now when she needs it, she is also learning that the cover of Brian isn't the full story and instead of letting jealousy and Lindsay cloud he judgement she should've taken the time to read beyond the first page to who Brian really is.

Thanks For the Update 😃

Author's Response: Too bad for Lindsay and Michael, it's time to grow up and take responsibility for their own lives. Although with Lindsay's mental issues that might take awhile, if ever... Without Lindsay in the picture, Mel is getting a better understanding of who Brian really is, and how much he truly cares about the family. Hugs Hon ~ Kathleen

What a wonderful chapter from beginning to end. There were so many amazing thing that happened, but nothing more tear-inducing than the final interaction with Mel and Brian.

Gosh! Even now, I'm sitting here with residual tears. That entire scenario just gripped my heart and wouldn't let it go, especially since my oldest son is in a situation similar, yet not as severe. He was moved again both mine and my mother (who are both his legal guardians) wishes, and are trying to do it again. My mom and I are fighting them tooth and nail to make sure that doesn't happen again, even to the point of possibly bringing Joshua home for good. But the bureaucratic red tape of New York State is both suffocating and an outright pain in the ass to deal with.

So that said, I can wholeheartedly understand (and felt) Mel's rising panic at not being in control of her own fate, and having very WRONG decisions made supposedly with the best of intentions. I wanted nothing more than for her to smack the fire out of her mother, and then get into her wheelchair to run over both of her parents' domineering asses. SMH, I know I probably seem like the most mean and violent person on the planet with that last statement, but I have a big problem with a patient's rights being violated/ disregarded. Thank goodness the hospital staff had the forethought to call Ted straightaway. Otherwise, Mel would have been halfway to Florida before he found out anything.

And for the record, Mel's mother certainly could be kinfolk with the bitches-on-wheels by the names of Joan Kinney and Nancy Peterson. I could just about imagine them around a damn cauldron, chanting 'Double Double, Toil and Trouble'. DAMN WITCHES!

Anyway, this was a thoroughly enjoyable, and heartfelt chapter. Justin leanring a bit about how assumptions are just not a good thing to have in reference to people, and Gus... I laughed hard at the memories of my own boys that he engendered.

Looking forward to more coming soon!

Happy Writing and HUGS,

~Nichelle

Author's Response: I'm so sorry about to hear about all the troubles you're having trying to make sure Joshua is getting the best care possible. My heart goes out to you and your mom. Fucking red tape! Yes, Mel was in a total state of panic hearing her parents plan for her future. Thankfully she had assigned Ted as her POA instead of Lindsay. I guess the writing was already on the wall concerning Lindsay's mental state of mind. 'Double Double, Toil and Trouble' How appropriate for Halloween! The bigger man. Well played.

They can't afford to lose each other in all the muck Michael and Lindsay churn up. I do believe it was the right thing to do but I don't think Michael will be able to comply with the rules the judge set.

Nice to see this back.

I was a little confused about how Lindsay could go about hurting Justin in the art world. The woman is certifiable crazy... how would she contact anyone? And, even if she tried... aren't her calls monitored, and the person she's calling... wouldn't they know that she's calling from a psychiatric hospital?

Ball Gowns? Where was Mr. Kinney when his son was wearing a BALL GOWN?

I was a little concerned about Michael's charges being dropped until I got to the part about: With the caveat that if Michael doesn’t attend therapy, and complete his job training program, he’ll be required to serve his full prison sentence before being released. Petulant, childish Mikey is going to get tired of the conforms of the halfway house and find all the anger classes, and job training classes too difficult to continue, and he will have to serve his time anyway. And he won't be able to say it's Justin's fault, because Justin got him out in the first place. On top of all that, with his restriction to Brian, it is just going to continue to make his anger grow.

HUGS  ~Cathy

Author's Response: Hum... Good question. I guess she might have to sneak around and use a phone or computer. It's a good thing Brian was at work. Playing dress up is on thing, but being a drag queen might be too much for Brian. Michael's never been one for follow the rules, so he's most likely to be back behind bars soon enough. I had three pairs of eyes looking at me in disbelief and a 'hey, we're watching TV here'... when I burst out laughing when Justin was talking to Lindsay. As soon as I got to her saying she was staying in a resort... I lost it! And try as I might, I couldn't quit! I tried so very hard to control my giggles... it was damn near impossible. How Justin did it, is beyond me.

Lindsay is officially past delusional and left the Crazy Farm about a thousand miles back. It almost makes me wonder if she's schizophrenic. Oh, Lord... I hope she doesn't do something to harm the baby.

Or, Evil Kathleen... is this going to turn out that she's playing everybody?

Michael... Let's just hope he has an accident and the outcome is a broken arm. That's okay Mikey... it don't hurt that bad... it will heal! You're totally right about how most prisoners came from abusive homes. And him commenting about Jack and Brian... he doesn't realize how lucky he is that Brian NEVER heard that! And get a clue Michael... if Brian LOVED you so much... where is he? Has he come to see you? Has he hired a lawyer for you? Have fun at your hearing on Friday, Mikey!

I'm happy Mel is seeing what a great person Justin is. Maybe she will realize that Brian can't be all that bad if someone like Justin loves him and married him.

HUGS  ~Cathy

Author's Response: So glad I could entertain you, Justin was struggling to keep a straight face, while I was of course laughing my ass off. Lindsay is totally out there, it's a good thing she's so happy, for the moment anyways. Michael's in for a big shock if he thinks Brian will ever forgive him. Seeing Gus hurt brought back so many bad memories from his childhood, he's now in full protective mode for both his boys. Now that Lindsay is out of the way, Mel can now see that things were not always how they appeared. Hugs Hon ! Kathleen

Didn't Michael already have a 2nd chance.  He was arrested for making a false report/breaking and entering.  He did the exact same thing again but this time he broke a childs arm.  So why are we giving him a 2nd 2nd chance.  I'm sorry, I'm not telling you what to write, but I get tired of seeing people write a story where Michael acts like an ass, it's brought up that Brian has always cleaned up after Michael, and I see way too many writers redeem Michael AFTER Michael has been an ass over and over again.  I just get frustrated. Plus I don't think it's fair that Justin offered to pay for Michael's therapy.

I love your stories, I love how you kick their asses when they act like children but sometime I just don't understand redeeming Mikey, I just don't get it.  If someone broke my childs arm I would never forgive them, never.

Hope to see more of your words again soon.

bec

Author's Response: Don't think of it as Michael being forgiven, or getting off easy. Think of it more as, Justin understanding that Michael, being a petulant child that he is, is bound to fuck-up again. This way it's all on Michael shoulder's and he can't twist it around and make Justin the bad guy. For once he'll have to take responsibility for his own actions. Because there's no way Brian will ever forgive him for hurting Gus. Later Darling ~ Kathleen

Mr. and Mrs. Asshole Peterson... strikes again! There's hope for you yet. UH, Nancy... just because she likes men... "HOPE"... is not part of the vocabulary that describes Lindsay. The sanity ship has sailed on that one... same as Michael.

I do feel bad for Melanie... I wonder why she wasn't following doctor's orders? If you are ill, and go to the doctor... why not follow his orders? It totally defeats going in the first place.

Michael is such a HUGE idiot! Can I say, I ALMOST hope he goes back to his cell crying and whining? He'd be smart to get it through his head Brian DOESN'T WANT HIM!

Daddy's box of penises. Poor Gus... the way he said that simple statement... made it sound like that was perfectly normal. Barring what Debbie's note said... I think Justin will be blushing the next time he sees those women too. Him and Jennifer can see who's the reddest.

HUGS  ~Cathy

Author's Response: The Peterson's won't be getting the perfect parents award any time soon. They're half of the reason Lindsay is so fucked up! I feel bad for Mel too, she really should have paid attention to her health. Mel's not really so bad in this fic, as she starts to recover from her disabilities.
