You have captured these moments beautifully. It broke my heart when, not long afterwards, Jennifer coerced Brian into leaving Justin, even though they had just reconnected :(

Author's Response:

Thank you so much, Nickknack.  Although I understood a mother's heart and why Jennifer did what she did, I was also broken-hearted by her action.  But in the end, she did realize that Brian was too important to Justin to exclude him from his life.  Everything Jennifer did and said was always out of love for her son, unlike his father.  I'm so glad you enjoyed the final part of this trilogy.  Huge hugs, Grammy

I was so happy to see this posted. After I saw on FB that you had posted it, I was thinking that the story would be more about the other's thoughts and feelings concerning the bashing, and a thought formed in my head for another sequel called, After-Effects. You know... how Daphne would have to deal with Chris and the others at graduation. But then she ran into him at the taco stand. And although she got a good punch in there, it would have been more entertaining to have her addressing him in a school setting. And also inserting about how he enjoyed the hand job so much from Justin, that prison butt-fucking would bring him to new heights. (I am the epitome of hateful today.) Sorry.

I was so happy you had Jennifer, Debbie and Vic realizing their parts in Justin going to the prom in the first place. They needed to remember if it wasn't for them encouraging Justin, practically demanding he go, he would have skipped it all together. So, Kudos there, my dear lady.

Thank you for the hard truths Debbie gave Michael. Is he just a substitute for Brian, since you know you’ll never have him? Brian will never want more from you than a brotherly kind of love and your friendship. This might be conceited of me, but I almost felt like you wrote that for my benefit. ;) But maybe Debbie's talk helped, seeing as he went back to Portland.

Brian, Brian, Brian... Ready to give up on love. Because he felt guilty? You bet! But you pulled him through beautifully. Thank you for this awesome series. I will do my best to come up with another segment of the show that needs fixing, so you can write about it. *evil glint in my eye* and *huge smirk*

Author's Response:

Once again you have brightened my day with your wonderful comments, Cathy.  Thank you so much.  Actually you deserve the credit for this being a series of three stories rather than one.  Your insightful comments on the first one inspired the second one, and again with this final story.  I owe you a debt of gratitude.  I actually considered the title to be 'Aftereffects' but decided that 'Aftercare' was more appropriate since they all 'cared' so much about what happened to Justin.

Your idea about Daphne confronting Hobbs at school is intriguing, but I doubt he made it to the graduation ceremony.  Brian did a lot of damage to him when he struck him in the knee.  He probably spent his graduation in the hospital or at least at home recuperating.  In my mind, he had to have surgery on that knee, the way that Nancy Kerrigan did when Tonya Harding's supporters struck in the knee.  Btw, I think Daphne really enjoyed that jab at him about what could happen to him in prison.  It certainly did get to him, didn't it?

I actually believe that Michael only left for Portland because of Debbie, not Dr. Dave.  You know that being Debbie, she wouldn't have sat quietly by while Michael hung around trying to console Brian.  She certainly did love the idea of her son being with a doctor.  That was obvious.

I can't tell you how happy I am that you enjoyed this series so much.  If you do come up with some other interesting scenarios that you'd like expanded on, let me know.  I'll see what I can do with it if I am able to.  Right now, I'm trying to finish a holiday story before Christmas and continue with my ongoing story of 'Cracked'.  So many stories, so little time.  LOL!  Thank you again for your support.  It means the world to me.  Huge warm hugs, Grammy

What an informative and believable look at what happened.

Author's Response:

Thank you very much, YumYum.  My goal is to always be as authentic to the series as possible, so this is a wonderful compliment.  I appreciate it very much.  Hugs, Grammy
