I had to get the kleenex out for this one!! I am so, so sad that Joan passed away, but so, so happy that she and Brian got over their differences and became a real family. That little album she made for Brian was beautiful, and he will really cherish that.

I don't see why Gus wants Brian to tell him about his childhood: does he think he will know his father better than he does now? He should feel that it might hurt his father a lot.

I like the reactions from everyone about the card. Will Mel be invited?

Bree and Brian's relationship is amazing: they both feel when the other one is sad an dthey need the contact.

I love the way you describe them and I'm wondering if Brian is like this with Bree is because she's Justin's daughter and he could be himself with her and do all the things he wouldn't do during the first 5 years Justin and Brian were together: cuddle, hug, show weakness, say 'I love you', be patient.

Amazing chapter!

What a fantastic chapter. Could picture each sentence.  Joan wasn't always a nice person, but everyone will miss her including the readers. And, give Claire her Oscar and boot her off the cliff.  Of course, the tissue box was out and since I had a RL viewing last night for a family member, it made it seem so real.  Wonderful writing as usual by both of you.  Will review at the end.  Off to read Chapter 2.  Rating 10 plus

Very sad beginning, but that was expected.

I'm glad that Brian didn't shut down too much and was able to go thru this day with pride and peace.

The cards were great and a family event.  At least they didn't have a picture of Joan on it saying something about her wanting for them to celebrate.
