At least, bowling was an activity Brian could practise with Jack, without Claire and Joan. I don't see why Jack would find bowling more manly than soccer; maybe because he was bad at it.
This is really hard on Brian, but Gus needs to understand what happened.

Maybe I got it wrong but I though Mikey always said they became friend when they were 14. But the bowling story it looks like they are 9.

Some memories are good. That bowling ball looks heavy for a nine year old. It's odd if this is a memory connected to Mikey's because Mikey always says that they've been best friends since they were 14.
