Hi! Oh, what a beautiful last chapter! I'm really happy for them, they've gone through so much and I'm happy that now, they're at a good place! So thank you very much for another well written, amazing story! So, no wedding but an engagement. But, there is a clear hint, that there will be a sequel, isn't there? So, I'm looking forward to this and I'm curious what will happen beside the wedding... ;-)

Yeah, I've seen the reunion and it was totally amazing! They've done a great job, especially Scott Lowell. I was surprised, he's so totally cute and sympathetic. Just as Ted is like in your stories ;-)

And I have to say, even if I still don't like Michael... Hal Sparks was also great, how he chatted with the fans! Although I understand that if Randy would have tried to do something like that, the chat would have broken down :-)

Randy was another story... I don't know, he left me with such a sad impression afterwards. Maybe he was just not in a good mood, maybe because of the whole Corona situation. Who knows how he is doing in NY right now. Must be terrible for an actor at Broadway. But... I was sooo looking forward to see him and then unfortunately, at least in my opinion, he was asked the stupidest question ever.. The moment I heard the question I thought, no please no... I was never on a Con but watched a few on youtube and often, at least in the last years, whenever this question came up, they rolled their eyes or stopped the questioner and asked friendly not to ask this question again. And don't get me wrong, it wasn't the answer that made me sad. I mean, he can have that opinion about Brian and Justin, that was nothing new to me. I don't share it and it's simply an open end and not real life so whatever... But the way he answered I just felt like he said it because he was just so annoyed by the question. And later someone else actually asks him exactly the same question in other words... And when they were all together at the end, I just got the impression, he was no longer enjoying it, he seemed kinda lost. Well, maybe it was just my impression, it was quite late. And sadly Gale wasn't there, but the whole thing was great, amazing! So, warmest regards and stay safe!

Author's Response:

Awwww, thank you! I am glad that you liked the ending and this story in total. That means a lot to me :) And yes, you're right. There will be a sequel. I just can't seem to leave the Kinney-Taylors alone... By now they mean too much to me and I have so many more ideas for future storylines... but first and foremost: Yes, there will be a wedding in the next story!

As for the Youtube reunion, I really liked it as well and thought it was very well done. Scott has my eternal respect for doing such a great job for 4 1/2 hours. I tweeted him to thank him for all he had done to get this reunion going and for his great work hosting it and he and Peter Paige even liked my tweet - happy fangirl ;)

As for Hal Sparks, I am not a big fan (maybe because he played Michael, maybe there is something else, I can't really explain it), he just rubs me the wrong way sometimes, but yeah, he was really great during the reunion. Even I can acknowledge that and appreciate his efforts!

Randy... Yeah, some of the questions made me cringe as well. I felt bad for him being asked the same questions over and over and when the people went on asking the same questions we had been asked 5 minutes earlier, just in a slightly different way, I was asking myself: What is wrong with you? What do you want him to say that he didn't say five minutes ago? But I guess that's just people for you. I have been to many conventions, mostly in the Lord of the Rings fandom, but also in other fandoms and it's the same everywhere. You will always have people asking questions again and again that will make the whole audience cringe and boo because they know that the person up on stage has been asked this hundreds of times before and has answered it so many times (my favourite example is people asking Billy Boyd from Lord of the Rings to sing the song he sang in Return of the King. He sometimes does it, he sometimes declines politely, but there are soooooo many youtube videos of him singing it, it's just awkward to ask him to sing it again and again when you could ask really interesting questions).

And I agree, it's not even about Randy's answer. He is entitled to his opinion and once you leave behind a fan's romantic notions and think about them as real people and not TV characters, his opinion is probably a lot healthier for everyone involved than what we as fans come up with ;)

Maybe it was just me, but I also felt like there was some tension between him and Hal. When they talked about Hal being the one to swing the bat in those famous reshoots and him enjoying it just that bit too much and then in the end when they all came on together and he very particularly greeted him "Hey Hal"... It just sounded really tense. Maybe I am reading too much into it because there have always been rumours that they didn't get on well towards the end of the show, but I don't know, it just seemed weird. He seemed more at ease with Scott and Peter for example.

All in all, it just confirmed my belief that I will not attend the convention in London. First of all the prices are just crazy, but secondly, I don't think I would enjoy it because it doesn't seem like Randy and Gale are the type of people that are enjoying these interactions with fans.

Scott and Peter, absolutely. You can see how easy-going they are and how they enjoy interactions with fans and are good at it, both of them seemed to have a way easier time talking to the fans than Randy did, but Randy and Gale... don't seem like the type to have fun at an event like that and quite frankly, it's too much money to have them moping around for two days, you know?

I know it's egoistical, but if I go to a convention and pay a lot of money to see someone I really like, the least they can do is to make the effort and at least pretend to have a good time. Yes, I know, we all have bad days, we all are entitled to them, but I see a convention as a kind of job commitment they made and many people saved for months, maybe years and it's a dream come true for them and the least the actors at the convention can do is to at least pretend that they want to be there and have a good time, you know? ;)

I thought it was quite telling when Randy actually talked about how becoming famous and being in the spotlight was the one thing he didn't like about the QAF experience and that it caught him quite off-guard. And honestly, I guess it must be weird to know that most of the people paying to see you at these events are lusting over your naked body more than really caring about the stories that you tried to tell, you know? Can't even blame him there...Not that everyone is lusting over him, but I am sure there is not a small part of fans who cared more about the sex scenes than the storylines on the show...

Okay, I am stopping now, I am getting way too cynical here *lol* As said before, I thought the reunion was great, well-done and I am happy they got it organised and I loved watching them all together again. No matter what! :)

Thanks for your comment! Stay safe and hang in there!

Thank you for a wonderful ending to a wonderful story.  So I take it a new story involving a wedding may be coming one of these days.  That would be equally wonderful.  Your writing is amazing and even waiting week after week for updates, it kept my attention.  Hope all is well with you.  Stay safe.

Author's Response:

Awwwww, thank you for your nice comment and all the other comments before. I appreciated each and every one of them more than I can say :)

You are right, there will be a sequel. We will see the Kinney-Taylors again. I just love them too much to leave them alone ;)

Stay safe!

Great ending with the birthday party and the fact that Gus was OK for the adoption. Justin has always been there from day1.

I guess from the end notes that there will be another part. I hope so.

Author's Response:

Yes, Justin has always been a father to Gus and it's good that Gus knows it as well.

And you're right, there will be a sequel. We will see the Kinney-Taylors again :) I just can't leave this family behind me for some reason...

Thanks for all your comments. I really appreciate them!

Hi again! Beautiful chapter! I'm so happy for them. With Brian being able to get it up again and Vicky being healthy, everything seems to be going in the right and perfect direction! And I really like Brian's decision to work less in the future and to spend as much time as possible with his family! It was a tough time for them and it showed that you never know what's coming and how quickly something can be over... and I'm happy for Ted and Cyn. They really derserved this, not only by working hard but also being very very real good friends to Brian!

Author's Response:

I am glad that you liked the chapter :)

Yes, everything is going well for the family and they finally have the happiness that they all deserve after everything I have put them through.

Brian has learned the hard way (not only now with his cancer, but already before) what is important in life and what matters to him and thankfully he's now in a place to accept that and make the changes he knows are important for his own happiness as well. He has changed a lot and in my opinion has become a better person for it :)

As for Ted and Cynthia, yes, they deserved this and they have been a great support system for Brian for years. Maybe Michael should have taken a lesson from them: That is how you get Brian's friendship and also some of his money. With support, hard work and real friendship, not whining, guilt tripping and a bad case of "woe is me, I am so innocent"...

Did you get to watch the QAF reunion on Youtube on Friday? It was really nice to see so many of the cast and also to get to know so many of the crew and hear their stories and to just see them all reunited after so many years :)

Have a nice long weekend!

Whoa! That reunification! Another one that will be more famous than Germany!

The last part is a major step for Brian, one that he will never have taken a few years ago and yet, so logical after what he went through.

I'm curious to see how Cynthia reacts towards Vicky.

This quote summarizes B&J so much: "...then stopped when he saw a smile on Brian's face. It was the sort of smile Brian only had for one person".

Author's Response:

And I am German - I should be ashamed ;)

Yes, it was a big step for him, but Brian has changed and isn't the same man anymore that he was at the beginning of this universe.

He has grown and with him his relationship with Justin has grown :)

I totally agree with what you said about Joan. I also can't really imagine that she would change her basic attitude, I think it's also more of my wish to see Brian happy and be loved by his mom.

Hm, I understand Justins reasons but nevertheless it makes me sad... I think it just reminds me too much of their first failed attempt to get married, but on the other hand I know that this is your story and I'm sure they get their much deserved amazing wedding... and it's only time!

Author's Response:

I honestly think Brian would deserve to be loved and appreciated by his mother, but a mother who hasn't done so for more than 30 years (40 even in this story) will not suddenly change. And the question is: After so much time... has too much time passed? I mean, Brian would probably accept her love because he has always needed it as well as her approval and he would forgive her, but I just don't feel comfortable with her getting to be a part of this loving family after everything she has done to her own son. And that's comimg from me, the grandmaster of all things forgiveness ;)

Do not despair! I know I am evil, but I am not that evil. Now that we know that they both want to get married and that they are ready for this next step, it will happen. Just a bit later than expected ;)

And really, who would want to miss out on little Vicky as the flower girl at her fathers' wedding, huh? ;)

Oh goodness, how beautiful! But first I have to say, I'm glad Justin did something about Michael and didn't just wait because Michael probably wouldn't have left them alone and they really couldn't have used that extra stress. And Justin always had good ideas about such situations (reminds me of Kip) :-)

And then they've this overdue conversation. I also think Brian really wanted to marry Justin in S5 and it still makes me so sad and angry at what has been made of this wonderful couple in S5. There was only this black or white, all or nothing. And I think probably you're right and a marriage wouldn't have worked, not without first working through some issues - what they didn't show us, but the alternative ending they showed us in S5 was also pathetic. Even if I didn't want the series to end, most of the time I'm almost glad that there wasn't another season because I'm sure another season would have meant more pain, at least for those who wanted to see Brian and Justin together. But I'm totally happy that it seems as if - in your universe - they're going to get married at last! This was so cute!

Author's Response:

Yeah, Justin did what he had to do to keep his family safe. He knew that Michael would never leave them alone otherwise and he also knew that neither Brian, nor he himself would have been in any condition to deal with him. Not with everything else they had going on at that time. This was the most painless solution ;) Sorry to everyone who was hoping for Michael to play a bigger role in this story. Not happening!

Yeah, I think Brian really wanted to marry Justin, but I also believe that as much as I would have wanted them to get married, it wouldn't have worked out. Much like Justin argued (wonder where he got that point of view from ;) ), I think that especially Justin would have been too young and not ready. He needed to find his place in the world, needed to become a man and build a career before he would have been ready to marry Brian. Otherwise they would have always been at different points in their lives and Justin would have always been dependant on Brian's money which he would have hated.

Saying that, I don't think it was necessary to end the show like that. They could have stayed together while Justin was in New York and found himself and built his career. I just think they should have gotten married later as they do in so many stories in which Justin goes to New York but they stay together...

Anyway, at least they finally had this important conversation and are both ready now :)

Thanks for your comment!

Oh, the big day! Finally they'll be at home together! Brian is getting better and better! Cute, how Justin notices these little changes to Brian...

And I have to admit honestly, I like also stories, in which Joan comes to reason, loves Brian unconditionally and is finally the mother she should always have been. So, I'm curious if Joan will still play any role ... But even if not, it doesn't matter, Brian has his family and two wonderful mothers in Jen and Debbie. It's good to see them all so happy together! Warmest regards!

Author's Response:

Yes, finally! Vicky is coming home, Brian is doing better. Things are finally looking up for the Kinney-Taylor family :)

I understand what you mean about Joan, though I have to admit that I don't really see her as the type of person that would change her mind on something as fundamental as her belief that gays are an abomination. I don't know, I just see her as this type of character that is so set in her ways and beliefs that she will never change.

Having said that, I also like some of the stories where she comes around, mostly just because it makes me happy for Brian. He has always wanted his mother's love and for him to finally get it, always made me happy.

To be absolutely honest, I have been toying around with ideas for a sequel and that sequel also involved ideas for Joan and some other grandparental units missing from this universe so far... But, it's still in the very early stages and nothing has been properly laid out yet when it comes to plot or storylines, so who knows if it will ever see the light of day ;)

Hi again! I don't know which moments I like most. I think it doesn't really matter. You describe them all so beautifully, no matter if it's between Brian and Justin, Brian or Justin with Gus or one of them with Luke. And although it's another situation I can only agree with Brian... I would also like to have a little bit more normality right now. These times are crazy and I often thought hej, could I please just wake up from this nightmare. I think that's something Brian or Justin might have also thought in their situation. Great writing!

Author's Response:

I think we can all agree with Brian right now. I'd love some more normality right now as well... Until you lose it, you never realise how much it means to you :)

Ohhh, I don't know what to say. It's perfect! When I started reading this chapter and they mentioned a surprise, I was a little disappointed that it was the zoo and not the hospital (although it was good to see that they had a great time a the zoo - they deserved this), but then the second surprise came! And it couldn't have been a better one! And Gus is a really great big brother. That he takes himself back and lets Luke hold Vicky first. They're such a beautiful little family!

Author's Response:

I know what you mean about being disappointed that it wasn't the hospital as the first surprise, but I felt that it was very important for them to spend time with just Luke and Gus on their own, especially after that talk that Gus and Justin had a couple of chapters back. The boys missed out on a lot of quality time with their fathers and I felt like it was really important for Brian and Justin to show the boys in their own way that they are important too and matter as well :)

And of course the brothers also got to meet their baby sister - long overdue :)

Hi! I'm back... We're currently living in crazy and terrible times ... Our Canadian exchange student had to cancel his stay with us and had to return to Canada after only half of the time. My two boys don't have school, are at home and I've to work as a private teacher besides my normal job at the hospital... But luckily we're all healthy and I hope you and your family or friends are too!

So, back to your story! A beautiful chapter! I like that although Gus is so much like Brian in appearance and gestures, his love for art connects him to Justin. Thank you for the wonderful pictures and the little trip into the past and for this rather calm chapter. A little break from all the pain and excitement was good. Warmest regards!

Author's Response:

Crazy times indeed :( I had to cancel my trip home to Germany in March, couldn't go to my friend's wedding, had to cancel visiting my family, they had to cancel visiting me for Easter and we've been on lockdown for 5 weeks now. I've been working from home for 7 weeks now. Crazy times indeed, but like you said, at least we're healthy, my friends and family are healthy and that's all that matters :) I am glad to hear that you and your family are hanging in there!

I am glad you liked the chapter, to be honest, it's one of my favourite ones. I always felt a bit bad for Gus, after having lost both his moms, knowing that he's the only child in the family that's not a natural child of both his fathers and I just wanted to show that yes, those things bother him at times, but with the love and support of his family he will always make it through moments like that. They stick together as a family, they are one loving unit and Gus, just like everyone else, is very much a part of that unit :)

Thanks for your comment! :)

Tissue box time again.  I understand Justin's reasoning, but I want a wedding probably more than they do.  Justin should realize that every day is precious and delaying the wedding could cause it to never happen, but as long as they love each other and their family so much, I will survive.  Fantastic writing.
