Oh my heart is breaking for Lindsay. And my hate for Mel is burning so HOT right now! The mental and emotional abuse Lindsay must have had to suffer from that bitter woman must have been enormous. I don't know if I'm saying this right, but part of me is glad that Lindsay had her mental break if for no other reason then so her heart wouldn't continuously be battered by Melanie and her minion, Michael. However, between the two of them, they broke Lindsay's spirit. And that, to me, is just unforgiveable! I'm glad she will have the support of those who truly care for her well-being. Perhaps a visit from Ted and Emmett- especially the latter- might help, too?

As for Gus' conversation with Jenny, sadly it went just about as I thought it would. The little girl has indeed turned into her parents! I'm so glad that Patrick had a chance to witness it, and blow up at her for himself. He sure did lay into that little miss, and Gus' response to her was the icing on the cake! I hope that when Mel shows up, Gus lights into her even more harshly than the verbal ass whooping Jenny just endured. Selfish little bitches, ALL! And that especially goes for Melanie and Michael!

The talk between Brian and Ted, then later with Emmett, was long overdue and wonderful for all three of them. I was so HAPPY hearing that David has his Yapping Chihuahua on such a short leash. I'm almost anticipating his reaction to the news that Brian and Justin found their way back to each other, while not being able to do a damn thing about it without losing everything. Is it sad that part of me wants Michael to try to test the boundaries only for David to give him up to his fate of being completely alone and hopeless? To me, it's no less than what Michael would deserve for the mean manipulations he inflicted on Gus when he was ONLY six years old!

Anyway, back to the conversation between the three REAL friends of this tale: I am so glad that Brian convinced Emmett to join the exodus from Pittsburgh to New York. Brian addressing the situation of Blake and Ted's former relationship was definitely needed! I think he broke through to Ted by acknowledging that the reason he couldn't be happy with anyone else was because none of them could be 'Justin' for him. I believe that was something Ted really needed to hear. I can imagine that Emmett needs to hear it, too, but that' s going to take some time since Drew hasn't made a move.

What a wonderful chapter! I'm looking forward to the next and the meeting with the vacuous and venal Valkyrie herself... Melanie!

This was a great chapter, beginning with Ian and Gus' talk. I LOVE the fact that although they are 12 years apart, Ian treats Gus the same way as Brian treated Justin when it comes to puzzling things out. Ian doesn't handle Gus with kid gloves at all; just lays out the facts, makes his point, and holds Gus while he figures himself out.

I also really liked the meeting with Patrick and Gus. In fact, after the semi-rocky beginning, it went much better than I expected. I loved the way Patrick asked questions to really get Gus to think about his responses. But what I enjoyed most was Gus' reaction to Ian's meal choice. That was just the kind of humor they both needed to break the tension between them.

Ian's visit with Lindsay was both informative and heartbreaking. You almost have the feeling that she wants to remember, but is glad she can't. Mel really did a number on Lindsay, which ultimately caused Lindsay's mental break. And I'm pretty sure that whatever Mel wasn't able to accomplish, Michael was all too happy to take up the cause. What assholes!

Could there be a double wedding in the works? LOL That will certainly chap high-and-mighty Mel's ass! I think Gus and Ian's assessment of her selfishness and need to be obeyed was spot on. I also have a feeling she's going to catch all sorts of hell from Jenny. As Brian said, there's nothing like Karma and it's definitely coming for Melanie Marcus!

Looking forward to MORE!

Out, open, and honest. Great chapter.

Michael and David? Yeah that was done to rub it Brian's face. Michael marrying someone Brian didn't care for, I don't think Brian really cares. One arrogant ass deserves another.

So many secrets and lies. Lindsay off in lala land, Michael as hateful and spitefully as always. So he finally got what he wanted from Brian. Where did it get him? Mel doesn't seem to have changed much. Why am I not surprised?

Brian playing too many emotional games with people and  their lives, Gus seems to be following blindly in his footsteps. Think it's a good thing Ian is in the picture.

And Justin, don't get me started on him. Michael hates me and treats me like shit but I can't tell Brian it will upset him. Way wah wah. Even if it resulted in the same way he  should have stood up for himself and spoke his mind. Well at least it seems that he's raising Patrick alone and with Brian's help.

I don't blame Patrick for not wanting anything to do with Gus. Gus hurt Justin, for whatever reason, why should Patrick forgive him so easily?

So, how old was Gus when Michael was in his 'conditioning' stage? Five... maybe six? When Gus said: I wish you were dead ... why don’t you just disappear ... He’s done nothing but take from us and gives nothing in return ... they were all the same things Brian punched Michael for before. You knew Gus was just repeating what Michael had said to him. But, IF Gus was... let's say six... that's some pretty awful words to come out of the mouth of one so young. And whether Emmett and Ted weren't talking to Justin at that point, HOW could they stand by and allow Michael to say those things to Gus?

How does Ted as Brian's accountant, not be privy to some of Brian and Justin's life? And, I thought Brian and Justin have been together since Patrick was a baby. Why did Brian say: It won’t matter since I’ll be living here with Justin and plan to move Kinnetik here. It sounds like they haven't been together.

Yippee! I hope Michael brings David all sorts of nightmares! How could David be so stupid? How long have they been back together? The timelines in this story just all seem to be messed up to me. If Gus is twenty-one, LOTS and LOTS of time has passed, yet it sounds like things are JUST NOW happening.

Michael's whininess ended up ruining Brian's, Ted's, and Emmett's relationships. I hope he's happy with himself. I hope somewhere done the line when he screws David over, or David gets tired of holding it while he pees, or wiping his ass, Michael ends up on skid row.

I have no love lost for Melanie either. She has been so wrong all these years. Brian said she would have lost if he fought it... he should have fought it and gotten Gus the hell out of there! Away from both her and Michael's poison.

I'm angry at Brian in this story, and I still think he needs to atone for so much. No way should he have allowed Gus' anger to go on for all these years without sitting him down and making him listen. Why not do that after Michael was gone? Again, the timeline seems screwy.

I both LOVE and loathe the backstory from Brian and Justin's point of view. Hell below what an absolute NIGHTMARE Michael Novotny-Cameron is! David is an ass, who deserves every bit of trauma that's going to befall him with having Michael reenter his life. It's funny, but David is just too old NOT to realize that in most cases, an ex is an EX for a reason.

Anyway, I'm glad that Brian and Justin found a way to be together after all the turmoil, and without the family crawling all over their relationship. Was definitely sad to learn that Ted had relapsed for a time, but hopefully he's doing better. Also sad to know that Em's life is basically stuck in 'Park'. As for Meanie- I mean MELANIE- between her and Michael, I just don't know who's worse! Honestly, I would have expected that she would have let go of her bitterness, and the need to control everyone else's life by now, especially considering what her viciousness had so obviously done to another person. No Lindsay wasn't innocent, but Mel had her shit with her, too. I would have thought that she would have seen that, or that someone would have pointed it out to the shrew.

And WHEW! The little glimpse of Jenny that we did see just proved that having the DNA of both, Michael and Melanie, has created a Tyrant-in-Training. I wonder what would happen if/when Jenny begins to treat Melanie as Mel has treated everyone else herself. Nope, I don't see that situation going so smoothly at all!

Absolutely looking forward to MORE!

Whoa! Powerful, dense, surprising, comforting chapter!

My favorite part is from Brian appearing on Justin's door to Patrick welcoming him. It's like honey on an irritated throat. So soothing.

Poor Gus who went thru hell and didn't get much comfort from his parents. Michael had him well trained so he was able to spew his venom to Justin.

Poor Jenny, also between nasty parents.

Poor Lindsay, almost alone with dismissive parents and wife.

Deb is the one who navigated the whole mess without too much damage; she was able to keep up with Justin and maintain a tiny, but strong link.

Imagine waking up to this! What a treat! So glad to see you back!

Not sure where to start here, but as soon as I knew Lindsay was having a baby, I figured that was Justin's 'son'. I do hope there is something in writing that will forbid either Sam or Lindsay from ever trying to take him away from Justin.

I can't figure out why Mel should be mad at Justin for siding with Lindsay, because why should Mel want a crazy person around her kids? But the fact she hid Patrick's paternity from Gus... and the fact that she was pro, 'Brian and Mikey' speaks of desperation. What a bitch!

And Michael! All I can say is, WOW! A new level of spiteful and hatefulness! I'm going to presume he couldn't wait and went running to Justin about how Brian slept with him! I am interested in knowing how Emmett and Ted handled that. Did they think it was betrayal too? Did they side with Mel and Michael and feel Brian and Michael should be together?

Am I right in assuming that's the reason Ben left him? It's also interesting he lost everything. The house was probably in Ben's name... but what happened to the comic shop? And where does Hunter figure into everything?

I was a little confused though... it sounded like Brian did something stupid (what?) that had him and Justin having problems... and that's when the pain management started... and it was THEN Brian slept with Michael? So, in reality, they had two things to deal with.

And Brian moving Michael into the house... Britin?... that's just all kinds of wrong! But, if it helped to permanently destroy the friendship... okay. I'd like to know where Michael is now... now that they aren't in contact anymore. Is Mel aware Michael wanted to take Jenny away from her? She might not have been so pro Michael after that? Poor Jenny! How has she survived all this trauma?

Patrick must be 14 or 15. So, how long have Brian and Justin been together as a couple? It was funny learning they were together after Gus' proclamation of how Brian pushes every man away since Justin. And Gus saying it was going to cause problems... if it has been kept secret THIS long... why should anyone find out now, just because Gus and Ian know? (Ian - really?) I was ALMOST afraid momentarily.

I guess I have lots of questions, but that's true with the beginning of any new story. I'm sure we will find out everything in due time.

Another great beginning, although the thought of Brian and Michael in a bed is pretty disturbing. The only excuse I see is that Brian was drunk.

It will be interesting to read how he managed that part with Justin.

It's very sad what happened to Lindsay and Gus. Is Patrick living with Justin and is he the "son" everybody thinks he has?

I'm surprised, in a very good way, by Debbie's reaction towards Justin.

This is so intriguing, StarBaby! I can't wait to see where you take this. I'm already ready to flay Mel and her minion, Michael alive. I'm almost scared to find out how Jenny developed into an adult with the two of those idiots as parents if we see her. Without some kind of calming influence with SENSE around, I can't imagine it's all that good.

Anyway, looking forward to MORE of this story!
