Hi! It‘s good to read that you‘re better. I wish you farther a speedy recovery! Unfortunately I‘ve never been to Canada, but my son was there last autumn for a three month school exchange and now, the canadian boy is with us. He‘s so nice, polite and interested, I don‘t think he‘ll run us ragged (whatever that means - because I don‘t understand that therm ;-) ). He‘s from Ontario.

So, the last chapter! Thanks for that story! Although I gave you a hard time at the beginning, I liked your story and I was looking forward to your updates and liked our exchange. As you know, I wasn‘t always content ;-), but I think almost every story and every writer deserves our appreciation and respect! I would have liked a little more closeness and warmth between Justin and Brian and by that I don't mean sex scenes, but rather the charisma and chemistry that the two have when they‘re together. But overall I liked how they themselfes and how their relationship developed. And I think there were more than just 3 people who read your story! I wish you all the best and warmest regards!

Hi! I hope you're better! When you didn't updated for nearly two weeks I started to get worried. And again, just a short review. We've an canadian exchange student since nearly one week and I haven't got much time...

Oh jeez, Rhona‘s such a bitch, but now there aren‘t many reasons left why Patrick shouldn‘t leave her...

„sunshine state here we come" - :-) made me smile!

Warmest regards and all the best for you!

Author's Response: Hey, A short review is better than no review! I know Canada quite well through work, what part do they come from? I am finally out of hospital. My chest infection was more serious than I thought, and couldn't breathe. At least now or I have to worry about is the ankle getting better. The story has nearly come to an end with an epilogue that i posted today. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing it is very much appreciated I can assure you. Not sure at this stage whether I will revisit the boys but I'll never say never. Have a great weekend and I hope the exchange student does run you ragged!

It took me a while to get into this story, but once I did, I really enjoy it.  Great idea for a different B & J story.  Sorry to hear you were in the hospital.  Hope all is well.

Author's Response: Thank you for sticking with it. I am out of hospital now after contracting a serious chest infection - after being in there with a broken ankle! Again thanks for reading.

Hi again! Oh dear! I hope you are better and I wish you a speedy recovery! Hopefully your streak of bad luck is over and everything will be better from now on!
Even if I think their relationship would‘ve worked at Pittsburgh, maybe it's a good idea that the two move away and leave everything behind and start over with Gus! Warmest regards and all the best for you!!

Author's Response: Hey, In the above response, I meant to say I hope the exchange student DOESN'T run you ragged!! It wouldn't let me go back in to change.

Hi! Today just a short review! I hope your ankle is healing nicely!

„and things are going to be so much different from now on forward" - Great, i‘m happy for Gus. That nothing bad happened to him and that Brian is willing to change some things in his life and to be there for his son! I‘m curious how that will turn out!

The way Rhona has behaved so far, I could imagine that she asks Patrick to put Nathan somewhere else. She's a real bitch. Hope Patrick will ditch her! But they have a baby together, haven't they? So, it‘s not that easy! Warmest regards!

Author's Response: Hey, this New Year has got worse, I am in hospital with a chest infection! But the ankle is on the mend (they say it is) So I have wrote this chapter in the medical center. Just two chapters to get through and I am gradually tying things up now. I think Justin and Brian have come along way since chapter 1, which in this story is only about 4 months before. And just to let you know Danny and Stu will make one final appearance in this story! Have a great weekend and i sincerely hope that the next chapter I write will be at home.

Great update.  Have been having trouble with ratings so I haven't been reviewing.  Going to try now.  If no rating sorry.  I like when Brian & Justin are together and I love Gus.  Wonderful writing.

Author's Response: Hey, Not sure the ratings are working? Thanks for the comment, just 3 chapters to the end.

Hi again! Yeah, I‘d a good start into the New Year, but the past two weeks have been a bit more stressful... work... kids... doctor appointments...Jeez, I wish you a speedy recovery with your ankle. Are you on sick leave? More time to write... :-)

Oh, I was so happy to read that Gus is fine and that he seemed lucky to have met a good person. And even if he doesn't see it that way himself, it‘s good that the truck driver has informed the police. So many bad things could have happened...  And I hope Brian will now understand how unhappy Gus is in this situation. Brian cares so much about Nathan, I think he should care also much more about his son. But I also hope Gus will change his attitude about Brian. I really don‘t like this „he‘s a fag". That‘s not a very respectful way to talk about your father or anyone...

And I have to say, even though I really like that Brian is so generous and concerned about Nathan and will pay for his treatment, I also can understand Justin's first reaction to it ... But I'm really glad that this didn't cause a major argument between them. So, not so many chapters left... I‘m looking forward to read more!

Author's Response: Hey....just posted the latest chapter. I am at home on sick leave. Because take flights around the country for my work, I can't fly with my ankle...or so I'm told. Should hopefully be back to work in 6 weeks minimum. Fag is said in a non bigotry term by Gus, something he's picked up. There are reasons closer to home why Gus feels like he does. The next chapter will hint at that. You will soon see Brian trying his best. Yes, not many chapters left. Will Brian and Justin move away and would Gus go with them? Will Nathan and Josh get it on...or more importantly, will he be permanently paralyzed? And there is the creature that is Rhona....now she is about to get really dark..... More soon!!

Hi again! Great, it seems, as if the whole trouble with Brad is over? I just hope that it‘ll also turns out to be okay for Nathan. Hopefully there will be no permanent damage with his legs.
I'm not so sure if I like his overconfidence... „if I wanted him, I would have got him" Fortunately, we will never know, but I like to think, that Brian would‘ve turned him down... In the end, that‘s what he did. I really like that Nathan and Justin had this talk. I haven't wrote this in my last review, but I thought, hopefully at some point there‘ll be a clarifying talk between Brian and Nathan, but I really like how you solved this problem. And I think Justin handles this quite well, he isn‘t jealous, but rather shows understanding for Nathan's crush. It's very nice to see how much he trusts in himself, in Brian and their love!

And you‘re still so evil! We all want to know what happens to Gus!!!

Author's Response: Hey, It's been a busy time off for me, plus I broke my ankle when I went skiing with my Uncle. But hey, I live to write another chapter. The Brad story is just about over now so the next chapter will feature some of Gus. I will start to tie things up now as the story draws to a close. Will Nathan walk again? Will Josh's feelings be met? Will Gus ever settle? And will Brian and Justin move away from Pittsburgh forever as something new comes their way....wait and see. Hope all is well with you and settled into 2020?. Apart from the ankle all is good here.

Hi again! Until January the 13th! I envy you a little! So, there will be time for the next chapter soon! ;-)

Oh and you‘re so evil. :-) Of course, we wonder how Gus fared! Hopefully, he‘s safe!

I still don't really get Nathan... On one hand I‘ve got the feeling - as I wrote before - that Nathan accepts Brian and Justin as a couple. I mean, he called Justin to tell him what‘s going on and in previous chapters he often thought of Justin as a friend. On the other hand, the way he favors Brian to ride with him in the ambulance instead of Josh... I thought Nathan would be over his crush on Brian and sees Brian more as a friend or some kind of big brother. And in my opinion, Josh seems to exaggerate a little bit... „Nathan loves Brian" How can he love him? What does he know about Brian? Sure, he had a big crush, but love...? But from Josh‘s point of view his agitation is understandable, because as Justin correctly states, Josh has a big crush on Nathan himself - and that for a while. I really hope that something will develop between them! Josh really cares for Nathan and is worried. I really like the way you portray Justin here. He‘s sure of Brian's love and encourages him to take care of Nathan in this situation. They‘re at a really good point in their relationship, there is trust, support, love... Can't wait to read how this whole disaster continues...

Author's Response: Hey, Happy New Year. Nathan has always carried a torch for Brian, the next chapter goes into this more. Gus's fate is also hinted at. Things will start to tie up as the story's end is nearing. As Brian starts to take charge of everyone and everything things move on nicely. I've flown to sunny Florida to visit my twin brother and his family this week so I'm hoping to write another chapter at the next weekend. Have a great New year.

Nathan's life seems closer to Brian's childhood than Justin.  You left us with quite a cliff hanger.

This looks to be combining QAF UK and QAF US- Brian and Justin seem to be drifting.  But along comes Nathan.  Let's see where you take us.

Hi again! Hope you had / have a nice Christmas time! I‘m also off work until the 2nd of January and I really relish it!

Jeez, I‘m so afraid for Gus! Hope, he comes out safely of this situation! So it seems I was finally right about something... Poor Nathan. Although I really didn‘t like him in the first chapters, I feel sorry for him. Since I felt that he accepted Brian's and Justin's relationship and didn't try to get in between, he became more sympathetic to me. I hope he's not seriously or permanent injured.

Oh man, Stu and Danny are not worth Justin condescending to behave like this...

Have a great vacation and warmest regards!

Author's Response: Hey, Hope you've had a great Christmas. I don't go back to work 'till the 13th January but have to go see family in the mean time. Just 7 mores chapters to go now. But the last chapter will feature a beach....and some chocolate ice cream. Enjoy your time off, it's so nice to be able just to put the foot to the brake and slow down and relax for a while. More soon.

And now Gus is in a truck with a damn pedophile....hoping to get to Canada....and nobody knows he's even gone so no one can help him if this "good samaritain" decides to hurt him in any way. Then there's Brian trying to kill Brad, Justin scuffling with Stu and Nathan possibly being paralyzed....I hope everything turns out alright for all involved.

Still, my main concern is Gus because it just seems like he's being put through some unnecessary stress here. I really hope his situation gets sorted out soon.

Author's Response: All will be revealed soon. Have a great Christmas.

Date: Dec 16, 2019 5:50 pm Title: Reality Check

Hi again! The weekend was too short as always :-) But... Only a few more days and then I'm on vacation!

And once again, I had to collect my thoughts and think about what you wrote and how you present those characters. Brian and his role as a father... And somehow I can understand the critic you got, because after reading the last two chapters for the first time, I also thought, how could you let Brian behave this way? But, in the series itself there were (unfortunately) only a few scenes with Brian and Gus. Everything what could come after that, how much contact he would have with Gus and yes, even how he would behave if Gus would lose Mel and Linds, is fiction. And it was never discussed in the show what should happen with Gus and JR if something would happen to Mel and Linds. So, in fiction everything is possible. That doesn't mean that I like the way Brian behaves here. I think I'm just too influenced by many stories I like very much in which Brian immediately assume this responsibility for Gus without thinking about it in such a situation. But this is how I like to picture Brian, or better, how I would want him to behave... But I know we‘ll getting there.... I think, what I would‘ve liked to read a little bit more, is that Brian isn‘t so cool with the situation, but may show a little more feelings, that he‘s more torn about his decision. So, I‘m still very curious about this reality check, hope it happens soon, and as I said before before somthing happens to Gus!

And I still wonder who‘ll be the one who‘ll be seriously injured. So far your story‘s always been a little different from what I expected, so ... At the moment I fear that it‘ll be Nathan and that this may be the reality check Brian needs to realize how important Gus is to him and that he wants to take care of him himself. But as I said, I've been wrong so many times before... Maybe I should stop expecting something specific or guessing so much :-) Have a nice week!

Author's Response: Hey, I know about the Brian and Gus reaction thing. But life's a bitch and when something like this happens, it is a HUGE responsibility to take on...especially when he hasn't had that much contact. But things will progress forward as I've said. Your fears are answered in CH23. The next chapter has some violent scenes to be warned. I don't go too much over the top. I'm back home now and starting my vacation. It's cold, there is (some) snow on the ground and the Christmas tunes are on....have a great family Christmas and be safe. More soon.
