Omg, is “your” version of Brian in some kind of midlife-crisis? Maybe Justin should dump him…

Maybe I should give this story another chance to see where it all leads, but I honestly don’t understand how you could have tagged this as “could be canon” and not AU because in my opinion you’ve changed the wonderful characters of Brian and Justin so much and I especially miss their unique interaction and also the depth and complexity of their characters. No matter how much they would have changed over five years, I can’t imagine Brian would ever treating Justin like he did in the last chapters and also Justin behaving like this...

Author's Response: Thanks for the comments; I could have listed this as AU, but 'could be canon' can also be 'could not be canon' :) Both characters have changed over the 5 years plus (Justin was in New York for 2 years) In this story, Justin has just evolved as he has got older and hasn't evolved in a good way as he is blind to how he's changed and can't see that Brian is struggling with it. The Brian of this story has changed too. He's gone 40 and knows he's not the club boy he was. He struggles with Justin's attitude and the fact he himself has broken the rules. (It was always Justin who broke them before) Whether Brian sees his dalliance with Nathan an affair you will have to find out, but things will get worse before they get better (just a warning) I'm pleased your curiosity as lead you to read this. I too loved B&J relationship on screen, before, and lets be frank, it wasn't the happy ending we all wanted. This story is different, I never hide the fact I don't 'do' fluffy, I just write. Anyway, thank you again for making time to comment. x
