Oh goodness, more hints… And you also got me more and more confused… :-) Great! What lodger? Hm, am I now happy, that it won‘t be Nathan? I‘m afraid, it has something to do wtih the guy you mentioned. I just re-read this part again (the phonecall between Justin and his mother). If I understood it right, something happened in New York with someone else, but fortunately Brian seems to already know about this. And he also seems to know about the blackmailing, but Justin hasn't told him that this guy also has been in San Francisco, has he?

So, now this chapter. I really thought the scene at the loft would be more dramatic. Did Justin know who Nathan was or didn‘t he realize it until Brian told him the next morning? I really liked Brian's honesty and that he finally told Justin about Nathan, so I really hope that the lies regarding Nathan and the secret meetings between Brian and Nathan are over (You know this „when is Justin at work, so I can meet with Nathan“ was so not my vision of Brian). But I also wondered a little bit that there were no further questions. Justin knows that Brian has broken the rules because of or with Nathan and he didn‘t questioned it? Won‘t they talk about it? Hm, I hope you understand what I mean. Your story got me more and more captivated and I think you can actually write quite well, but in some places I miss the details or the sensitivity (sorry, I’m not a native english speaker and therefore sometimes it's very hard for me to express what I mean). I'm just not getting your Justin. Sometimes he seemed almost calculating in earlier chapters. Is his concern and his kindness to Nathan real or only played? I hope it’s genuine, because that would be more akin to my picture of Justin. And again, I just got the feeling, Justin wants to be alone with Brian, spend some time just with him. And I think an honest conversation would be absolutely necessary, but unfortunately, again, it seems not to happen. Another cliffhanger! I hope you‘ll update soon!
