This was lovely and explained perfectly how so many of us have felt, especially at the start of the pandemic. We all missed out on stuff, but it's kids like Gus that missed out on their first year at college or my nephew who missed most of his first year of school. And the anxiety, gosh that was relatable. I wish I could have gotten more into Schitt's Creek. I watched the first couple of episodes but couldn't get much further. Maybe I need to try again because all I hear are good things about it.

As a person who has a SCI during this crisis, Justin’s fears of whether or not Brian would be deemed as not as deserving of a vent are very accurate. The only panic attack I have had in the last three months was because I was terrified my cold was Covid and I would not be given as much care since I am a quad. Thank you for acknowledging that it is a worry for those of us who have disabilities. Once again you have done an amazing job writing details most people would leave out.

Author's Response:

Thank you, that means so much to hear. <3 I put a lot of effort into trying to get the details right and make sure that I'm giving as full a picture as I can, because I think many people don't realize that SCI is more than just limbs that don't move. Most importantly, Brian is still Brian... he's human and multifaceted and more than his disability, which is simply one detail about him. I'm glad that is coming through in the story! It's definitely a very scary time right now for people with disabilities, and for someone to decide that their life isn't worth living because of it...it's absolutely atrocious and unconscionable. But I'm glad that your cold wasn't COVID, and I hope that you stay safe and well through this crisis.

I usually read stories to forget what's happening.  But I have to admit in this world, it fits.

Author's Response:

Same, and I went back and forth on whether or not it was "too soon" for a quarantine story, but then after I read one in another fandom and found it oddly comforting to read, I decided to give it a shot and write a little slice of "quarantine life" for our boys. Glad you enjoyed it!

Absolutely wonderful and so perfect for what we are facing.  We have been lucky where I live.  127 apartments and no one has been sick.  Our management put all precautions into effect as soon as it was reported.  We must wear masks outside of our apartments. All common areas are closed except the laundry room.  I wear gloves, too.  Some do, some don't.  We never encountered anything like this so it is hard for everyone to deal with and I think your story handled that well.   The worse is no idea of an ending.  We are not in general patient people, but we are learning.  Thank you for sharing your thoughts and bringing Brian & Justin back to us.  Fantastic writing as always.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I'm glad you've been lucky so far. I hope you continue to stay safe and well. <3

That was so beautiful and so true for what, I think, is most of us.  Being together, having food and shelter, will get us thru. Stay safe!

Author's Response:

Thank you, you too! With everything so uncertain, it can be hard to focus on the little things that are going right, but it's so important. I'm glad you enjoyed the story, and Ihope you stay safe as well!
