I still remember the first time I watched that scene. I was gutted, and I kept tellng myself it wasn't the end... because there was still time left on the clock... it wasn't over.

And then it was.

The only pacifying thing at that moment, was there had to be a slew of S5 fics written.

All I can say around the lump in my throat is...WOW! 

Still in character, and acknowledging the character growth that Brian had over 5 seasons! This is so much better than what the series writers gave us!

Thank you so much for the wonderful comment! That scene was so difficult to watch, and one that I really don't like to rewatch either. I think the writers could have done so much more here. Even if the door was left open for their reunion, it should have been established more.
