The fact that Brian didn't want to turn Justin away says how quickly that sweet blond got under his skin and started burrowing into his cold heart, Justin really was the only one Brian actually wanted to stay but he has to maintain his image so that meant hurting the one who would come to mean the most to him.
What Brian also didn't realize was that HR issued a challenge to Justin that he just couldn't refuse despite b what Brian and Michael said.

I love how this is canon with a twist. I guess I wonder now if Brian has a daytime job, or if he only owns Babylon. Because to start with he was going to take him to school, then his comment was: He sleeps like the dead.

Yes, this is definitely a twist on canon. It's fun to use familiar lines in altered scenes.
Brian can go out in the daytime, but he prefers to sleep then. Of course, the night is when he is strongest.
