We couldn’t have asked for anything different than his ending.

Wonderful writing, wonderful story! Thanks so much for sharing with us.

Loved, loved, loved this AU, every word. Standing O!

HUGS,

Cathy

Author's Response:

I am so glad you liked it! I did love my time spent writing this story. There were so many times I thought about finishing it, and then I took a swerve and added another plot device to make it take even longer. I didn't want it to end. LOL.

Thank you for reading and all of your comments. I appreciate that so much!

Hugs,

Janet

How sweet for the kids to think of a portrait for a present. A lifelong gift.

And Justin distracted him enough that he didn’t get chewed out for the way he entered.

And yay! The doctor was dealt with. Everybody can truly get past everything now.

Cathy

Such a welcome ending to this chapter. Brian, already full of lust, still managed to tease a bit. And letting go of his slaves? Icing on the top with a cherry.

HUGS,

Cathy

Author's Response:

I'm not sure if Justin could ever feel completely at home as long as the other slaves, although they were there willingly, was a part of Brian's home. And, I don't think Brian will miss them at all.

It looks like the end for all the bad guys. And unfortunately, we weren’t invited to Ethan’s beheading - OFF WITH HIS HEAD! - as the Queen of Hearts always said. That just leaves me with the gory images I can conjure up!

That doctor must not be up on the news of the goings on in Tehara, because I can’t imagine him being stupid enough to withdraw money from that card.

It’s understandable how Jasmine is as smart as she is if she was reading the encyclopedia, and various hard books.

I’m glad Gus and Jasmine are really bonding, and they both really seem to like Justin.

Just because Brian was drugged and sleeping, do you think he heard the ‘I love you’?

Well, the old witch is dead. It is a shame how easily she died. I really wish it would have been a slower and worse death. She didn’t deserve one so quick. Especially when she was willing to kill Gus just to hurt Brian. Unfortunately, I can’t think of appropriate words for someone like that.

I really hope Gus won’t suffer nightmares from this.

And Brian is going to be one of the worst patients possible. He isn’t going to appreciate people waiting on him.

HUGS,

Cathy

Author's Response:

Under the dire circumstances and how far Lindsay was willing to go to destroy Brian her death at that moment was probably inevitable. She was the lowest piece of filth. Her name and mother should NEVER be used in the same sentence.

Yes, I can't imagine Brian being a good patient. He doesn't accept vulnerability in himself, and certainly isn't accustomed to it. Good luck to them all. LOL.

Whoa! That was a twist! And shot and killed - no capture. Ahhh, poor Lindsay - NOT! I hope the first shot halts her so she can’t do anything, then very slowly, each next bullet is a little more killing, then leaves her to die as she tries to inhale a breath. (Sorry - I just feel no sympathy for the witch.)

Aw schucks, this could interfere with plans for Lindsay to watch Ethan be executed. Where’s the fun in that?

I feel sorry for Jasmine. I know it’s her nature to speak up, and it will take getting used to holding her tongue until the proper time to speak. But she will learn. I can see Gus helping her with it. I sincerely hope the children will become almost inseparable.

Cathy

That was a nice father-daughter bonding moment. I think if Brian continues with the talks, Jasmine will eventually perceive him as father, and once Lindsay’s out of the way, Jasmine can continue to grow into her own.

Maybe it would be best to have Ben present for that conversation with Lindsay. If Brian is able to control himself, he’s made of much better stuff than I, myself am.

I hope Lindsay has to watch Ethan being beheaded (please let that be his punishment.) She can know what’s coming, and she can also know she’s the cause of him losing his life.

HUGS,

Cathy

Author's Response:

I think Jasmine will make an excellent addition to the family. It's scary how she's so much like her father and she just met him. I guess genetics means something. We will just forget Lindsay's part in that - LOL. That would be perfect for Lindsay to be forced to watch...but things are probably going to go awry. You've finished the story, so I guess you know that too. Haha.

Hot, hot interlude, and just the calming effect that Brian needed before seeing Lindsay. It would be nice if he casually threw in there how he was going to spend the rest of his life with Justin.

I can understand both children’s attitudes. As Gus said - She has never treated me with kindness or respect, nor have I ever felt any love from her.

And Jasmine, defiant like her father - demands to know why. And if Lindsay tries to pull any of that sweet Mother Earth tone on her - I can almost hear Jasmine spat: LIAR!

Lindsay is delusional if she thinks Jasmine is going to save her. Jasmine HAD a mother, Mila, she owes Lindsay nothing. And she’s got the king’s backbone. I doubt any sob story could override the fact that Lindsay cheated her of her true family for eight years.

It didn’t seem like a lot of love lost between Ethan and Lindsay.

I like the closeness Brian and Justin seem to be getting to.

I’m looking forward to the twins meeting and seeing if they will automatically have the twin bond.

Hip, hip Hooray! Now I don’t feel so bad for all the awful deaths I’ve been conjuring up! Especially after Ethan was so cocky and thought he could threaten the king - and bedding Justin - Well, Brian wants him dead anyway!

Author's Response:

You knew I had to get Ethan more involved in this story, right!? LOL. Ethan would have been wise to flee after being rejected in the beginning of the story.

I HATE that smarmy SOB! God… talk about a pair! But what Ethan is forgetting, the king can do anything he wants. He should have his guards come into the room and drag the slimy thing to the prison and hang him or chop off his head! Pull out his tongue - anything.

You do realize these stories of yours are making me think of dreadful deaths, don’t you? LOL… I USED to love horror flicks and watched many with my son. I don’t watch them anymore, but I still remember the gruesome deaths.

Or if you saw the old movie Fargo, they can throw him in a wood chipper too.

So, are we to hope that she will slowly go insane? I hope he has the room modified so it’s about the size of a jail cell, with a small twin bed in it, and only a couple of frumpy nightgowns for clothes. Because right now, it sounds like the tower room is luxurious. A small place will surely drive her nuts.

That said, I STILL think she should have two lashes on the back. One for each child that she robbed of their time to grow up together. (Hey, at least I didn’t say EIGHT - one for each year.

I guess I don't’ even mind that Michael has been written as a nice guy. Lindsay is SO awful, we didn’t need him in the mix too.

First, Justin’s talk with Jennifer. She seemed saddened that Justin wouldn’t come with her. But yet she spoke of a very old fashioned man. What would happen if they got there and the grandfather turned Justin away because he was gay? I can so easily see that happening. And then, since he didn’t like Craig, it would be double blame for that reason.

My heart went out to Jasmine. I think she honestly loves her ‘mother’, which is apparent in the concern she has for her. Did the woman have any other children? And that Jasmine had to compete against?

The similarities between father and daughter - well, there’s something to say about genetics.

Dun, dun, dun, dunnnn…  SERIOUSLY???

I have a feeling Jasmine won’t have anything bad to say about the nurse. The way she demanded about her mother, tells me she was worried.

This talk between them is going to be so hard. Hard for Jasmine to understand, and hard for Brian to make her believe him.

I’m glad Brian will have comfort with Justin tonight. Something to unload the most stressful day. Brian can unload about Jasmine, and Justin can talk about how exciting he found spending time with Gus.

Gus… he’s probably going to hate Lindsay. He didn’t appear overly happy with her earlier.

Jasmine seems well educated, her speech is good. But I have a feeling the family had little food, and it was made to stretch. I have to wonder if the doctor wanted the nurse to take the baby and get rid of it. Maybe she refused and said she’d keep it. It’s just too bad with the little that Lindsay was in Tehara, that the nurse didn’t try contacting the king at some point.

The nurse’s bank accounts can all be checked to verify the monthly stipend from the doctor. I bet the nurse doesn’t have any inkling to his whereabouts.

And I can just about imagine Jasmine’s anger when she is told the truth.

Cathy

Okay, so we know that Jasmine is the king’s daughter. It would be pretty rare to find a second ‘Jasmine’. And if this is the nurse that helped with the delivery, everything is pulling together. But why would Lindsay give her the child, and why did they stay in Tehara?

It was funny just how arrogant the little girl sounded… too much like her father. And even though they lucked out with finding her so easily, at least Brian’s torture is over.

And depending on what the woman has to say – it might not be her dying, but hopefully, Lindsay.

Hugs,

Cathy

Author's Response:

All questions should be answered soon, and hopefully everyone appropriately punished. Brian has so much going on at this point with doing that and attempting to build a relationship with his daughter. She is definitely so much like him, perhaps even more so than Gus. Brian's palace will probably become more lively in the days ahead. LOL.

Well, the guys finally got some action in… but that little brat just couldn’t help but egg Brian on. LOL

But I doubt Lindsay will be very forthcoming. She’ll most likely squeal like a hurt pig at seeing Justin and his drawing.

HUGS,

Cathy

Author's Response:

Justin chose the exact WRONG way to get to Brian. We all know that Brian Kinney doesn't do jealous...but sorry to tell him, he does it very well. LOL. I doubt Brian expects much cooperation from Lindsay either. I guess we'll find out. :)

Yes, it was a good decision releasing that contract.

If the pic resembles Jasmine, that should definitely narrow down the search - or maybe the nurse knows something.

Lindsay’s punishment should be lethal, but it doesn’t sound like he wants her hurt or humiliated because of the children. Although, how can they have much feeling for her. And King Bruhier could set an example for people guilty of high treason. No matter if they are friends of the king.

HUGS,

Cathy

Author's Response:

Brian probably fears he takes a huge risk in releasing Justin from the contract. It was certainly barbaric, but all he is sure that held Justin to him. Deep down, I think he realizes much more holds Justin to him.

It seems perceived that Jasmine is just a female version of Gus. If so, she shoudln't be too hard to locate - hopefully!

I think if the perpetrator was someone other than the mother of his children, Brian would execute them immediately...but he is seeing the big picture, and how the children will feel years from now. I guess we'll see what he ultimately decides to be her fate. Either way, I'm sure he'll never allow her to walk free again.

See? A whip line or two, wouldn’t have any impact on the children… they wouldn’t see it. And threats to her for not revealing, should keep the bitch alive. And for her not having contact with Jasmine, means she’s no mother to her. Has Lindsay been paying the people for keeping her? Giving her a modest lifestyle? So much to learn here.

Hopefully, Justin’s sketch will help immensely. I think the king will see a completely different Justin now that he is free of the contract.

Cathy

Moving on from having Lindsay sit in a filthy prison, I think it’s time they went a hundred years back and strapped her to a pole and whipped her. That first sting as the whip sliced her skin, just might make her tell the truth. Because the fact that Jasmine has been RIGHT THERE all along, Lindsay needs severe punishment! Because the punishment should fit the crime.

Granted she ‘supposedly’ the queen and he shouldn’t treat her that way, but if Brian and only a couple others were aware of it, they could get away with it.

I hope Justin soon realizes that Emmett could be a true friend.

HUGS,

Cathy

Author's Response:

I think in this type of Kingdom, and perhaps many others that are not even similar, this type of betrayal is treason against the King, and it wouldn't matter if she was married to him or not. She could be severely punished. Brian is showing more kindness than she deserves, and I think it's all in the fear that his children will hate him once they are fully grown. I don't see that ever happening, but Brian loves his son, and undoubtedly his daughter that he thought he had lost.

Justin doesn't seem to trust Emmett completely. I can understand since he knows Emmett is the king's friend and does his bidding as well, but Emmett is a true friend to him as well.

I’m glad Brian and Justin seem to be getting along a little more civilly. I think Justin is starting to see things a little differently. He has his brattiness tendencies - just like canon Justin - but he does learn from his mistakes.

It’s unfortunate Brian walked into the room and heard Jennifer’s statement. Just hearing that part, seems worse than what they were talking about previously. I’m pleased that her father and family are accepting her back home. But I think at some point when things were so bad for her and Justin when Craig was around, I wish at that time she might have contacted them.

And then Brian revealed so very much with his - Neither one of them is you. My heart went *flutter, flutter* And when Brian sees the painting of Gus, I’m sure all will be forgotten.

HUGS,

Cathy

Author's Response:

They do seem to be moving in the right direction. I'm sure Justin's outspokeness will rear up from time to time. And, Brian's hot-headedness will counteract with that. LOL. Brian said more than probably either of them realizes with that little revelation. Justin has gotten past the king's walls. He has fallen for his sort-of captive.

I wouldn't be surprised if in the past Jennifer had feared Craig's reaction if she contacted her family, whether toward her or Justin, and she seems very old-fashioned here. After going against her father's wishes she probably feels she has to accept the consequences for her mistake. That certainly wasn't fair to Justin.

Thanks for commenting.

At least Lindsay is secured in the secret room, but how fast do you think she would talk if she was thrown into some dirty dungeon? Dirt floor, no running water, no toilet facilities? A chunk of bread thrown into the cage for her only meal?

But give her luxury, there’s no reason to speak.

I bet Justin wishes he hadn’t wanted to see the slaves quarters. It really backfired. Not only in front of him, but knowing tonight Brian would use two others, and not him.

I feel sorry for the wrath that will be coming down on Emmett’s head.

HUGS,

Cathy

Author's Response:

I guess Brian is showing he isn't a savage in where he has Lindsay isolated - if word ever got out about her captivity. I doubt it would, but with all that's happened so far with disloyalty it's not safe to assume. I think being locked up and unable to spew her venom on everyone, and more importantly, not knowing what's going on and how close Brian could be to getting his answers, that would drive her mad!

I think Brian made that choice for more than just his anger at Justin. This is classic Brian Kinney pain management. In any event, we have a very unhappy king!

Brian should have called for the guards and had Lindsay locked up. Like a thief in the night she might try to escape. Hell, if he had to, he could use torture methods on her. Lindsay doesn’t strike me as a person that could take much before she cracked.

And our little imp, Justin, is just going to stir up a whole can of worms with the king. If he was going for ‘inciting his wrath’ - I think he found the right way. What was his main objective? To size up the competition?

Cathy
