Glad things are on the upswing for Gus and Cole. Typical of Melanie to try and 'assert her authority' by being hypocritical in the meantime. SMH....she never did grow that penis...LOL I'm glad that Gus is going on and living his life regardless of his mothers and their expectations!
It's good that Brian and Cole's Dad are meeting and going with the guys to their doctor appointment. As a parent, it's always good to have firsthand information but this is more than that. It's about a concerted effort to make sure Gus and Cole are okay.

Good to see such positive support for the boys, even if it doesn't come from the girls. Very dssapointed in them both. As in I want to bitch slap them both kind of dissapointed. Gus reminds me a bit of Justin at the end, where he still wants to try with his moms, just like Justin did wnat to just give up on his dad initially. Wonder what the outcome will be for these guys.
Nice to see a bit of a bcak story for Gus and Cole.

Justin may not be Gus's biological parent, but he's always been there for him, and had a big influence on his development. First off..GO BRIAN! He gave it to those girls with both barrels and they richly desesrved it. thank goodness gus is old enough to make decisions for himself. I do believe that the relationship between gus and them is permanently damaged. I mean honestly...how do you came back from that? From their reations and behavior!. I'd expect that from a couple of homophobes, not lesbian parents who have full knowledge that these things can happen. What does that mean for vic or Ben? do they feel teh same way? I get that they are reacting, and of course scared, but how they reacted was just terrible!
thankful that Cole's parents are so supportive and loving. You'd think that Linds and Mel would've reacted the same way given the circumstances... I think cole's parents are going to be very supportive of the duo and who knows....may even give a bit of a tongue lashing to the girls at some point. That his father is going to speak on Sunday just goes to show their level of love, commitment and support to their son.

Author's Response: Yes, the girls have made Gus feel rejected and he's at a loss to understand their lack of compassion. It does make you wonder how they really felt about Vic, Ben and Hunter. But they know better and I understand they wanted to protect their son, but now it seems as though he needs protection from them. Cole's parents are of course sad that he's sick but they will never turn their backs on him, they love him and believe in him unconditionally. WHOO!!! This was one marvelous chapter! Brian let the bitches have it with BOTH barrels! As I thought, Lindsay is in full-blown WASP mode and then turns around goes full-on "Earth Mother." Please!!! And Mel, ego-tripping as always, unconcerned about what Gus needs and only that what she says goes...smh I so glad that Brian pulled the "father" card right then. He's being more than Gus' parent- he's being his protector and ally as well.
Glad, so damn HAPPY that Cole has a loving support system with his parents! I'm a Preachers' Kid (PK for short) twice over (both my mom and dad) and I KNOW how judgmental the 'church' can be with views that oppose doctrine. The funny thing about that is that most people who condemn others- homosexual or not- only tend to look at the Old Testament which was known as the law (or the Torah if they're Jewish). They rarely ever look at the New Testament which is known as the book of Grace (see how that PK-ness just comes through, LOL). Thankfully my parents understood the difference and allowed us- flaws and all- to be HUMANS first and not Churched Robots. This is why I love Cole's parents' response. Do I cuss, drink and smoke? Absolutely and some others do a lot worse, but that's between them and the Creator. If church folk took 6 months to mind their OWN business and the other 6 months to leave other folks business alone; would that more church folk were as understanding of that simple theory, the world would be a much better and different place!

You're right it's all a power trip, and a struggle with Gus showing his independence. His ejection of Mel's insistence of him following in her footsteps, only makes her see that part of him that is Brian and it makes her blood boil. Cole's parents, love their son and only wants what's best for him. They could see that he had someone special in his life, he just always hid it from them afraid of their rejection. My heart... this was such an AMAZING chapter between two darling men. I love that Brian, although not present in the scene, has made provisions for Gus to be his own man seperate from Melanie and Lindsay's toxic influence.
I worry about what Cole is having to endure with his family because of Dumb & Dumber's anger, hate and selfishness. The fact that they are angry isn't even on Gus' behalf but about their 'perfect image' of THEIR son. Again I say those bitches should be WHUPPED!!! Hopefully Cole will make contact soon.

Have to say, the last chapter......I wanted to reach through my compter screen and literally kill those two "moms" Mel in particular. Terrible terrible behaviour! that chapter completely broke my heart! If those 2 acted in teh best interst of Gus, I could perhaps understand SOME of their thoughts. (Not attitude or behavious) however, they don't give a shit.
Justin and Brian of course pull through. that's parenting! Love them and love how they love Gus!! (and each other)

Wow! Short but powerful! I think Gus should have a conversation with Ben. If no one else understands being in the situation where you have to forgive the person who you not only trusted but put you at risk, Ben would.
As with most parents, the graduation party is NOT for the graduate...SMH Mel and Lindsay,,,pfft! Hopefully they will respect his wishes and since they want a party so badly, throw one for themselves without using Gus as the excuse.
Sure glad he has Brian! And I think Justin would be an amazing support system too without being invasive and hovering.
