I just saw this and read it.  No Chaser writes on a level that keeps me thinking about the fics for days and days. Coming back and finding new authors after being away from the fandom was hard.  It was a breath of fresh air to find so many new talented QAF fan fic writers.  No Chaser is a favorite and I hope to read new stories as they are finished.

Thanks, women for letting me see this glimpse of the writers I read.  Loved the QnA

This was a very enlightening interview.  I think that a lot of writers do their best work when they include pieces of their own lives in the stories, even if only a tiny piece, and I have the feeling that this has a lot to do with your success as a writer.  Thank you so much for sharing with us.  Huge hugs, Grammy

This was a fantastic interview...

thank you for the advice (from the perspective as a very unconfident, new writer).

Also, can't wait for the story about Michael's comment getting out!!!! :)

Author's Response:

Thank you so much.

Believe me, the only way to build your confidence is to just put it out there! I was literally scared to death, even thought of deleting the first few chapters as soon as they were posted. ;) I found out that this community is a very friendly and encouraging one. Don't give up.

Great interview. I love Paper Boats on the Hudson. It’s one of my favorites by NoChaser.

Author's Response:

Thank you! Paper Boats was disappointing for some because it didn't wind up with the guys fully together - just hopeful that they might be someday. But it was what I needed to write at the time. Glad you loe that one.

By the way, YOUR stories are my current addiction! LOL

Reading your work has always been a pleasure. I love your Be all you can be series.

Haven't read your Alterations yet but it is on my 'to read' list. Thanks for giving us readers a glimpse into your world.

XOXO

Soirsa

Author's Response:

Thank you Soirsa. I'll warn you that Alterations is heavy heavy on the angst for a good portion of it. BATYCB, especially the first story, was much lighter and actually came about when I was in the middle of Alterations. It was my 'mental health break' piece. LOL. Please let me know what you think of Alterations when you read it.

This was such an interesting read, so THANK YOU for doing this. Alterations is one of my all time favourite fanfics - actually,  I take that back, it's not just one of my favourite pieces if fanfiction, it's one of my favourites pieces of fiction EVER. It is such an intense read and has me feeling so many things.

I have never read those stories you mentioned, so I am going to go check them out now.

I am so thankful you still write and that you have lots of stuff planned, like you, fanfiction has sort of saved me, but whereas yours was writing, mine was reading

Author's Response:

Oh, gee! Thank you for your wonderful comments on Alterations. It's my first-born and will always hold a special place for me.

(Let me know if you want the links for the other stories and I'll gladly supply them.)

About the saving power of fanfiction - Never let anyone tell you that derivative works like fanfiction are not REAL works of art. They are. And art has power and ability to work magic on the emotions and psyches of those who enjoy it as an observer and those who enjoy it as a participant. Although I think Justin's words after the bombing about the power of doing art were somewhat out of character for *him*, I fully understand what the writers were trying to say. Art is creation, it lets us know that things will continue, that we will in some way survive. And that's real damn power. ;)

Great interview!!!! It was so wonderful getting to know you through this! Reading your work always makes me want to become a better writer so thank you for granting me this in-depth look.

Happy Writing and HUGS,

~Nichelle

Author's Response:

Thank you so much. There are so many, many talented writers and storytellers in this fandom. We've found a subject that we love and that inspires us to translate that love onto paper, so to speak. I'm awed by the depth of YOUR stories and your ability to balance several works-in-progress at one time. That's a skill I've really never mastered.

Wow!  I thought you'd been writing longer than that because of how good you write.  I know I've read most of your stories and I intend to read them all when time permits.  I know what you mean about having works in progress.  They start out strong and then sometimes stall.  But in your case one would never know.

Author's Response:

I only started writing fiction in 2012, but I've been writing for a long time. My college years were dedicated to philosophy and religion and there is an enormous amount of writing in that. Come to think of it, maybe a little fiction, as well. LOL. And yeah, my WIP folder is overflowing. Now and then I pull one out, mess with it a bit and put it back. I figure by the time I pass away, I'll have at least a few of them finished. ;)

I enjoyed reading about you as an author.  Thanks for being the first of hopefully many such adventures

Author's Response:

More than welcome! I'm looking forward to reading about other writers here, too. It was actually a lot of fun to talk about myself for paragraphs and paragraphs and paragraphs! LOL... Hmmm... something psychologically telling in that, I'm sure.

Thank you, Admins, for this fun opportunity to do this. You had some great questions and I enjoyed every minute of responding. I look forward eagerly to reading about other writers and finding out just who they *really* are.. hehehe.

And to all the responses and commenters, thank you so much. This is a great feature and I think it will be a popular one.

Hey me! (This looked kind of funny sitting there in the middle with no response, so I decided to talk to myself a bit.) ;)

I relate to you on so many levels here. I am also guilty of being a slow writer because sometimes what's in my head, doesn't translate in type. I want to get stronger in that area so that my work flows more freely.

Author's Response:

I hate that moment when you just know that the words/scenes are just not going to work for you. It's frustrating to know what you want to say and have no idea how to get the story to actually say it! I usually put it aside for awhile and play bingo or something. LOL.
