I always wished someone would right a story where Justin and Brian got back together but never told anyone and Justin didn't have to live with the chinrat.  But I can see the problems with that senerio.  So this one works for me.  However Justin getting mad because Brian continued with his tuition sucks.  I like that Justin bought himself a car and is in touch with Ted.  I'm not happy with Lindsay, but I'm loving Mel.

Author's Response:

Hey Phyllis! I wholeheartedly agree with you about Brian and Justin getting back together and keeping it secret from the 'family.' I try to make their relationship strictly about them in all my fics, even if it takes me awhile to get there. You've heard the adage about too many cooks in the kitchen and the family, headed mostly by Debbie and Michael, were definitely the embodiment of that adage. There are a few reasons why Justin was upset about the tuition, Michael's low opinion of him being the chief among them. But Michael wasn't the only one to have his say or opinion about Brian taking care of Justin financially. There is definitely more to this story so stay tuned! Right now, he's just trying to take care of the things he needs and he doesn't want anyone interfering with that.

Over dramatic much Justin? I really wish he would understand that just because you need help, doesn’t take away from your independence. He shouldn't be upset that Brian kept his word.

Author's Response:

Hey Tamara! Yeah, his reaction may seem a little over the top for now but Justin is 19. Unfortunately, most of us thought we would be able to handle it all at that age too. But more than that, Michael's words have lit a fire within Justin to prove that he can make it without Brian's money. BTW...he wasn't the only one who had a lot to say about that, but that's for a not-too-much-later time.

Got through both chapters. Gotta say...throat was pretty tight during the first chapter. I definitely felt the lump there.

girl.......the way you write....the emotions you are able to exude from the characters......unbelievable. You are so gifted.

It's so frustrating with those 2. Brian's past, this image he's built up for himself, his own insecurities, all combined makes for a I guy who's ass I want to kick. He convinces himself he's not worth it, yet, out of the groups, he probably deserves it more than most, or at least some. I know he was hurt by justin's behaviour and actions with Ethan. He'd never admit the fcat, making it a stupid circle dance they continue ad nauseum.

AS for chapter 2..can we say "Kill ethan" Between opening the mail adn trying to wear the damn shirt....btw...a couple of my pet peeves. I don't really think he loves Justin or ever did in the show. I think it was more of a challenge for him to take away from Brian. It was a huge stroke to his ego. There's a difference between loving and claiming someone is a muse. (OK THAT...seriously makes me want to vomit) It's no wonder Justin keeps walking away from the fights. He'd end up killing Ethan otherwise!

Do you think Michaea has done something with the money? I wouldn't put it past him. I hope Justin gets a ton of $$ having Michael buy him out. Mind you, where the heck is Michael going to get that kind of $? Please no...not Brian...

So........Brian has obviously paid the tuition at PIFA. We all knew he would. will Justin confront him about it? How long will it take for them to get their asses in gear? Will they learn the proper lessons?

Anyway, I digress. This is seriously an incredibly emotional  story thus far adn I can assume it will continue in the same fashion. Can't wait! I'll know to wait till I get hone to read so there's no chance of me blubbering or screaming while at work.

Thank you so much for continuing to share your incredible gift with us all.

Cheers,

Elaine

Author's Response:

Hey Elaine! First I have to tell you that this comment made me cry. Thank you so much for the kind words to express your appreciation of my work. It means more than I can ever say...and I'm a writer! Words are supposed to be my business but sometimes even I am left without them. So thank you for that!

Brian and Justin both have some emotional journies to make in this and they wil see exactly where everything started to go wrong. This story will jump in and out of canon a lot but the results will be well worth it I think.

Poor Justin!! And yet not. In the last four months, Justin has had a lot of growing up to do since once again he finds himself the 'adult' in the realtionship. Only this time, it's not dealing with a man who by his own views is Emotionally stunted; it's with a boy who basically has no need to grow up and physically fend for himself. The tragedy of it all is that listening to certain 'other' people, Justin has gotten exactly what they told him he had a right to expect from Brian. It's a classic case of 'The grass always looks greener...' But what they never told him was that if the garden isn't well-tended, the weeds (in this case Ethan) stifles and eventually chokes the growth out of the beautiful greenery in said garden.

Michael and Lindsay will have to answer some very hard questions, very soon.

All things considered, Justin seems to be doing ok for himself . . . TAG

Author's Response:

Yep he is... but there is more in store for him. Right now, he is just trying to make peace with his decisions and reorder his life without Brian. A very daunting task indeed.

What had Brian done to get Justin angry? Did he pay the PIFA's fee for the next semester/year?

The romance has gone bad and the fiddler is worse than Michael, which is already a very awful thing. He whines with his voice and his violin. Eww, my ears!!!

Author's Response:

Hey Claire!!! The thing about Ethan is that I've always considered him Michael if he had gotten to be with Brian. Clingy, disgustingly sweet and at base of it all as calculating to keep what he thinks of as 'HIS.' He really has yet to understand that Justin Taylor cannot be contained unless he wants to be. And Ethan doesn't have the goods to do that.

Brian did that and a little more that Justin is pissed off about. This section will fall both in and out of canon so to speak but the results will be somewhat satisfying.

I'm so glad we're getting this prospective. Of course living with Ian was not all hearts & rainbows!

I can totally see other people in the diner making comments to Justin when Brian isn't there and of course Michael is the ring leader...fucker!

Author's Response:

There are a lot of things that always bugged me about this arc in general, not just the fact that Brian and Justin split up. Don't worry! I will be addressing each and every scenario that aggravated me and made me itch to slap a few folks around. That said, there will also be some moments of clarity for Brian and Justin as well as those around them. Some unlikely allies will run interference for them even without having their suspicions confirmed or denied. Michael is.... you know I really do try to find some redeeming quality in him- I truly TRULY do. I am yet still looking, LOL!
