Love this romantic update, but I am sadly getting the feeling that our adventures in this universe are drawing to an end. I love the dynamics of their new family and supporting circle of friends, and I would happily keep reading about them through many more years of their lives together:-)

Author's Response:

There is still at least a little more to tell about our boys.

Glad you're enjoying the story.

Thanks

Char,

Our boys are always hot.

What a wonderful ceremony! Congratulations, Justin and Brian! You finally tied the knot.

I'm glad there were golden gardenias--nice way to connect the wedding that didn't happen with this one.

Love the sweet sixteen car for Gus and the puppy for Sunny. That puppy will soon be adding havoc to their lives. :)

Author's Response:

The perfect couple needed a perfect wedding.

They love making their children happy and giving a small gift to the others for someone's birthday is always a sweet thing to do.

Brian does such a great job of helping Justin understand Daphne's possible motives for not confiding in him. Wow, Brian has really learned to communicate. That he brought up the uncertainty he felt when Justin left him for Ethan really touched me. Justin and Brian have become such strong partners and can discuss anything. And, of course, they still commicate extremely well non-verbally. :)

Treatment and medication have helped Lindsay and have made her rethink her actions. I like that she most regrets how she hurt Gus. She learns it will take a long time for her to earn Justin, Brian, and Mel's forgiveness and establish a modicum of trust. But, she does have a bit of hope and a goal to work toward so that she can maintain contact with Gus and JR.

Author's Response:

Brian and Justin are soul mates and work together, always making sure to be there when needed.

It will take a long time for her to gain their trust, including the trust of the children.

Thanks

Oh, how I hurt for Daphne. :(

If it hadn't been for pregnancy hormones and stress over Curtis, Daphne never would have thought for instant that Justin would be upset over Keegan not having two parents. He would have moved Daphne into Britin, and Keegan would have had three parents: Daphne, Justin, and Brian.

How sad that Daphne did find out Curtis was a homophobe. She discovered the Curtis she tought she knew was nothing but a facade. How devasting for her.

Keegan will always be proud of his mother, with his dads there to tell him all about Daphne, how much she loved and wanted him. Daphne ensured Keegan will have the best family ever. :)

Author's Response:

Daphne was very emotional and not thinking clearly, if she had been she would have gone to Justin and things would have been taken care of.

She was too hurt to realize that she didn't need to go through any thing alone.

He will grow up always being loved and cared for.

Oh, I like Emmett and Ted as the best men. Perfect.

Wow, Lindsay actually shows some common sense with Michael. What will Michael try next in his desperation?

Author's Response:

Emmett and Ted have more than proved that they are the best friends to both Justin and Brian.

The meds are working so she is starting to think more clearly.

More tears of happiness over the Kinney family. <3 And they now have the perfect person to officiate at their wedding. :)

Curtis is reaping what he sowed, and I'm sure karma will bite Turner in the ass one day.

Happy tears are good.

People get what they deserve in the end.

As I suspected, it's all about the insurance money for Curtis. He wouldn't want anything to do with Keegan, otherwise...well, except for changing his name and raising him to be a homophobe. I can't imagine his sob story about how he needs the money to pay off will help him with the judge.

I hope the BPD treatment helps Lindsay. I do wonder if she'll be able to manage on her own, but she can't remain Mel and Brian's responsibility. Brian would undoubtedly be willing to hire someone to help provide care for her.

Author's Response:

Curtis sees the baby as a paycheck, not as something to love and care for.

They will make sure she gets help, but she will still have to work on things for herself.

Aw, Gus. Thanks for the tears of happiness. The love you and your fathers have for each other is so beautiful.

I assume Curtis had no inkling about Daphne's revised will. Was he aware of the life insurance policy? If he'd just become aware of it, that would be another reason he'd want custody of 'his' son, thinking he'd be the trustee of all those lovely millions on behalf of Keegan. Good riddance to him soon, I hope.

Author's Response:

Gus is a great kid, just like his dads.

He didn't know about the new will.

He knew about the insurance policy but not about the changes she made to it.

Wow, Curtis is even more of a slime ball than I had previously thought. Daphne would be so utterly disgusted by how she was duped if she were still alive. Thank goodness she made Justin promise to raise Keegan.

Even Turner wishes to have nothing more to do with Curtis. Cracked me up how his effort to have a mistrial declared fell flat.

Author's Response:

Curtis just proves even more why Justin and Brian should raise Keegan.

I love the joy Brian takes in bottoming for Justin. Those two have such a beautiful relationship. <3<3<3

Justin's so honest and sincere about the alternative scenarios Turner raises. Although he lost his cool a bit at the end of his testimony, I don't think it will hurt his chances to gain full custody of Keegan.

Author's Response:

They are very much in love and very equal in the way they care for each other.

Justin loves his son and wants the judge to have a clear picture of why he is doing this.

Aw, that breakdown made me cry...tears of joy, that is. ;)

Mel's doing a good thing for her soon-to-be ex, having her evaluated so that she can get help. Linds undoubtedly won't see it that way, though.

Oh, Justin, you're so very, very evil. You stole Brian away from Linds and turned him into a promiscuous druggie who paid no attention to his son or wannabe wife. You conned all their money out of Brian. And to top it all off, you've assumed the submissive housewife role. That role belongs to Wendy dammit. Give her back her Peter Pan. Right now!

Can't wait to see how Linds' delusions hold up under Al's questioning.

Some people only see the world as it pertains to them and what they want.

Al has some hard questions for the delusional blonde.

Day one of the custody trial certainly didn't go very well for Team Curtis. What else could they expect, first with Curtis' testimony and then Michael's? And that's going to be followed by Lindsay's. I'd say like monkey's in a zoo, but the monkeys have it more together.

I hope the trial continues in this vein, so that Justin and Brian can settle into family life.

Author's Response:

The whole trial is very interesting and revealing.

Not very many brain cells between Michael and Lindsay combined. How could either of them think it will help one of them end up with Brian if they testify to him being of low moral character? That's supposed to make him turn back into Peter Pan, perpetual club boy? And also be a devoted partner to either Lindsay or Michael? Huh?

I so like the evolving familial bond between Brian and Melanie as well, of course, as Justin and their children. They make a wonderful family. I'm not surprised at all that Brian established a college fund for JR--just the kind of thing he'd do and never mention.

I hope Amanda really comes through on the witness stand. What could Curtis possibly say that would guarantee the judge would grant him custody?

Author's Response:

Neither one is playing with a full deck.

They are a great family.

Brian is a loving and caring man, especially when it comes to children.

Curtis is an ass and what he has to say will prove it even more.

Thank goodness Brian came to his senses in time. I just hope no one was there who would make the back room visit out to be more than it was.

Oh, yes. Ted is a much better best friend to Brian than the previous BF. I can just see that look of shock on Ted's face, lol.

I'm swooning from happiness. <3 A wedding is in the air, and all the boys are going to be Kinneys...although I suspect all may not go smoothly before that stage is reached.

Author's Response:

Brian knows that what he has at home is a million times more important than what he can get anywhere else.

Ted is loyal and honest, and not only there for what he can get.

Love conquers all

Oh, no! Let there be angst. :(

Is anyone following Brian? Maybe Michael? Did Curtis hire a private investigator? Will Curtis get wind of Brian's actions at Babylon?

Will this affect Brian getting his parental rights restored? Linds is clearly deranged, but she might put on a good act in court.

It's no surprise that Brian and Mel didn't get along before now. Besides Mel and Brian being too much alike, Linds' insistence on Brian to father her baby was bound to make Mel jealous and upset with Brian. And Linds/Wendy always ran to Brian/Peter for help. It's amazing, even with breakups and reconciliations, that Mel and Linds stayed together as long as they did.

Author's Response:

Life can't be all sunshine and roses, we need to keep it interesting.

Mel and Brian are both good parents, good things to come

Aw, now all the Sonny/Sunny Boys are together with Brian, Melanie, and JR.

So nice to see Brian and Melanie finally bonding (at least a little bit). Brian and Mel should make a formidable team: honest, blunt, and snarky. And JR's clearly an apple that didn't fall far from the tree.

Lindsay deserves to lose custody of Gus. I hope that's upcoming...

Author's Response:

The family belongs together and the kids will be loved by all three of their parents.

Without Lindsay, Brian and Mel are fine, she was the reason they couldn't connect.

Lindsay has screwed up her relationship with her son, he doesn't want to be around her.

Hmm, I wonder if one of Curtis' witnesses will be a spiteful Mikey. If so, that'll backfire on him big time.

So sweet, Brian's bonding moment with Keegan--and that Justin lets it remain private. <3

Yes, Michael and his stupidity gets shown off in court.

Justin understands Brian very well and knows when to just keep things like that in his heart.

I'm copying in the reviews I posted on MW from 4 May into the wee hours of 5 May for chapters 9-27. For this chapter, I'm copying in my initial review and your response as well.

-----------

I just reread the first 9 chapters to refresh myself on this story. With the marathon and then never-ending illness, I kept falling further and further behind.

I couldn't remember what Michael did to make himself persona non grata with the family. How could I forget that, lol?

Served Mel right if she needed brain bleach after walking in on Brian spanking Justin years before. [I, of course, would have gotten as close to the action as I could. ;) ] Why she and Linds (and other members of the family) thought it was okay to walk in without knocking is beyond me. Thanks for addressing that rudeness!

Forward, ho! Maybe I can manage another couple of chapters tonight. :)

Review & Response from 9 Mar:

That move to Canada never made sense; it's not as if Melanie and Lindsay's underlying problems would just disappear with the move. They left their support system behind and had no guarantee of jobs, particularly since Canadians (and legal residents) would have first right at job openings.

Plus, the move was really cruel toward Brian, who was just bonding with Gus. I certainly agree that Lindsay pushed Justin toward New York when he wasn't ready; one positive review does not a success make. Lindsay took away three of Brian's linchpins: Justin, Gus, and herself. That left only the so-called best friend who, even if he were a true friend, couldn't be all things to Brian.

Lindsay definitely protested too much about being lesbian after the Sam Auerbach incident. Clearly bisexual.

I think Gus needs to move in with his dads, Mother Melanie, sister, and little brother. Any plans to bring that about?

Yikes, now I'll have to wait for the next chapter to hopefully clear up some of the angst. Brian better do a good job with that thinking cap!

Author's Response:

Them leaving for Canada really sucked and it was hard on Brian.

Lindsay had her own agenda and thinks of herself first.

Some of your questions will be answered soon.

The next five chapters have already been written.
