I've been rereading this story, trying to get it done before you update it.
This chapter wasn't ringing any bells, so I wonder if I had missed it when it was posted, since I didn't leave a review. Anyway... my question is... has too much time passed for Brian to file any abuse charges against Joan? And, would the laws back in 2001-2002 be the same as for 2023? Maybe they have been uodated since the telling of this story vs today's laws?
Well, needless to say this has been a lot of fun reading it all at the same time. It really helps to get the excitement of waiting for an uodate all the more fun.

The link between Brian and Justin is tightening and they are getting closer by the minute. Justin is very assertive and it couldn't happen at a better time.
Brian may need some time to acknowledge his "new" family and I hope Mel will help him.

There are so many issues and wondering what happens from here. I think it is best to just say how much I am enjoying this story. You are amazing.
I don’t see a solution to Peter and John. Like Brian, there is no way they be raised by Joan. Is there anyone we know who does have some biologically connection to them who can help? How about contacting their father? Could he change giving up his rights to the State and have his rights given to Brian? I wonder, but I will just have to wait and see what happens. Where does Gus wind up?

HUGS, My Darling David! And thank you for the compliment. It's always great to know that the work I've put into creating these stories and situations is appreciated, but moreso that you are enjoying it. To set your mind at ease, I will tell you that there is a viable solution to the John and Peter situation, but it's going to take time to set it up first. It's definitely going to surprise you. We can all agree that Joan Kinney is certainly NOT in the running for mother of the year! Besides, she will have her own situation to deal with, and sooner than she thinks. As for Gus, currently he is safe and sound with Mel, Brian, Justin and Daphne. And with the trouble Miss 'Plans' is in, I doubt he'll be returning to Lindsay's care...ever!

⤠Justin is a keeper. Love the way he never let Brian feel any less (In Qaf, after Stockwell, during Cancer). Lindsay, Micheal, Joan, (Deb too) are total fool, if they think "Justin is a kid" . Proven yet so far, Justin don't kid when it comes to Brian. Its good see Brian and Mel banterings along real family.
Curious, what Syke left for Brian? what will happen Next? Also in Pitts. But More likely The Delusional Twins (M&L) Rolling on their As***.

Yes Joan and Lindsay are cut from the same cloth they see those around them as tools to use to get their way and when they are of no further use them they are discarded like a used tissue.
It not just avarice and greed that runs through their veins it is the need to be seen as the Alpha Female the desire, they feel if they are in control of the strings then they can make their puppets dance to any tube they choose.
If course Brian always had the the power to severe the ties so they browbeat him to submission something Michael and Debbie enjoyed because it guaranteed that Brian would never look deeper and figure out that he should've tossed them in a volcano years ago.
Melanie (When she is being Bitchy to Brian she is Mel) is seeing that her behavior towards Brian in the past was wrong not just because he is her twin but because she is finally opening her eyes (Slowly) to see that she was used, abused and manipulated by a Cow with Armani, Prada Dreams but is barely above White Trash even in the Wasp Nest.
Brian and Melanie have quite a new road to build and rebuild to find their own peace.
Justin is being subtle by pointing out what was always there concerning Lindsay, Michael, Deb but he is not going to fight to get them to see the truth and admit that they were abused, the is a battle he will stand by to fight but the power they were Allowed to take Brian and Melanie must take back.
Mendel is going to fight to make sure his nephew and niece are protected and strong enough together to fight back, they are giving him the strength to not give up just yet.
Taking the next few days to gather enough protection to go back to Pittsburgh fortified to look at the enemies and go "Is That The Best You Got?" is what they need because this fight is going to get uglier .
And out of everyone looking to destroy Brian, Justin and Melanie Lindsay is to be the one they have to be the one they most have to prepare for cause she will kill to win.
I do wonder what Skye has waiting for Brian?
And what The TK Army has to keep the others occupied?
What is Deb up to now?
