What a powerful chapter! Wow! Good for Justin! Next up: Brian

Author's Response:

Hey Shine!

I was VERY proud of Justin here. He showed what a real man he was up there and comported himself with style, dignity and grace that we could all be proud of!

Happy Reading and HUGS,

Justin is very feisty and even with a huge emotional part, he is still strong.

What a nightmare he had to live and reading what actually happened behind his back at home, at school and in the WASP world, it's another trauma; but for this one, he is not alone.

Author's Response:

Hey Claire!

I can honestly say that I was so proud of the way Justin handled himself here. He told the truth, no matter how it made him look to others, and yet still defended himself and his right to live as he sees fit. To face all of the machinations and hatred happening behind his back and still be able to not ho 'postal' takes a very emotionally strong person. Of course, Justin doesn't see himself that way because of all that's happened, but I think that he's learning. I've always believed that kind of character and strength of will is ingrained on a person's DNA and it's my honor to show Justin in this type of light.

Happy Reading and HUGS,

~Nichelle

Justin's testimony went well.  Can't get over how Dixon and Perkins thought they could get away with stunts like that.

Author's Response:

Hey Phyllis!

Yep! Justin's testimony did indeed put things into perspective. And in turn, he learned of some alliances and machinations that were going on behind his back. But ultimately he is having the first, last and all the laughs in between, especially on Dixon and Perkins. Arrogance doesn't pay, especially when the person victimized chooses to fight back!

Bravo Justin staying strong on the witness stand.

Brian is looking into his relationship with Justin, Michael, Lindsay and seeing how childish his two so called best friends are, and how mature Justin is in his determination to prove he can be a success without living by outdated rules.

And how he is seeing that Justin saw behind the mask while Lindsay and Michael loved the mask.

Brian taking the stand is going to be quite interesting.

Author's Response:

Hey Blue!

Yep! Brian's reflections on the differences between his relationships with Justin, Michael and Lindsay was indeed very eye-opening for him. He finally beginning to see that some childhood friendship are meant to stay in childhood and that age doesn't necessarily mean maturity. Unfortunately, it's a hard lesson he's had to learn and there are still going to be some repercussions from it felt for a long time, which will also affect the people he's considered family for so long.

As for Justin, I am so proud of how he handled everything. Like Brian told him, he's being reforged and remade. The good news is that even while he's in the process of reinventing himself, parts of who he was- those core fundamentals that made Justin who he was- are beginning to surface once again. He's still got a long way to go, but what a start!
