Lindsey's confrontation with Jenn came out as would be expected. she as definitely out wasped. Not sure what she has up her sleeve, but we all know it can't be good. Definitely don't trust her, and sadly, I'm not sure i f justin has teh strength to stand up to her especially when it comes to beliving Brian's emotional commitment to him. nope....don't trust her at all. I'm sure however, that you have an idea of her getting her cumuppence at some point and I for 1 will watch with eye's lit up with approval!! LOL

Glad that Justin is fined the inner strength to start to believe in himself again, I think the pottery could be quite useful and it might just help to strengthen Justin's hand.

I do did not see that coming and yet I Love It! I can't wait to read about Brian finding out about that and George seeing Justin.
I hope Ben heeds what Cynthia is telling him about Michael I mean she would know the full story and not just the edited version Michael spewed to Ben to make himself look good, Michael like Lindsay is a manipulative little dirtbag who loves when all the attention is solely focused on him, also like Lindsay he likes being waited on hand and foot when you step outside the bounds of they put you in, they get all huffy and talk or whine you to the point where you feel like you were wrong all along.
Brian is going to go off when he finds out what Michael did and said Deb can't protect Michael and she shouldn't, I look forward to finding out what Ted is about to do.

first off, THANK YOU!! Have been anticipating this chapter.
Michela and Linsey. I mean, I knoew they could be spoiled little brats, but to take it to such an extreme is beyond belief. thank goodness Emmett was there, adn that Brian arrived as well. To say "I'm disappointed in them" is not near enough. It's disgusted to the point of being perverse. Cruel isn't near a good enough discription. Please have Brian really lay into them!! Even beyond what he's done thus far. I love reading anti-Mike and/or Lindsey fics, but the real almost hatred I feel for them reading this in particular....I want to crawl into the fic adn kick their asses! LOL.
I hope that Debbie has really or at least has part way come to her senses re: Micheal and his spoiled little brat ways. That she really listens to vic adn continues with her actions with Micheal. That she puts her foot down in no uncertain terms adn that she carries on with it. that she doesn't allow Micheal to influence his pissy attitude about her and Carl.
I hope too that Ben is able to give him a kick i nthe ass as well. I'm not sure how interested he'll stay if he sees how obsessed Micheal is with Brian, nor if he hears about what Micheal and Lindsey did to Justin. I know I certainly would kick anyone to the curb who could do that to anyone, let alone for such selfish reasons.
The rooftop scen was lovely, hot and sweet. Brian was generous and loving and giving. Loved it!!
Now I envision the shit hitting the fan when David arrives. Yet another point against micheal should Ben find out. (I never really understood their dynamic on the shoe. Ben is so intelligent, adn Micheal..........well, isn't Was it because micheal was able to come across as such a "boy next door" kind of guy? Was it is "little boy" kind of persona that attraced Ben? Perhaps Ben saw the potential of the kidn of man he hoped micheal would become. I mean, granted, he had his moments here adn there. But even in those good moments, I often quetioned his motivations. Like at the end, when he convinced Brian to redo Babylon. Brian's expression when Micheal spoke was....he seemed disappointed and an "I give up" expression. Then Micheal's face was a smirk...Like he won or something. Hated that scene.

Okay Deb, Michael and Lindsay are working my last nerve I want to smack all three of them, they are all such Selfish A-Holes they I swear I can feel steam coming out of my ears, I can't wait to read what happens next especially to the three selfish brats, I have always wondered why the writers didn't explore the repercussions for Hobbs more instead of that lame court proceedings, thanks for going deeper and improving what the writers ignored, I hope Brian and Justin will be getting a break soon heaven knows they need it. (Your writing is good enough to make me like Mel and I never really liked her lol)
Hey Blue!! I find myself having the same reactions but yeah all three of them have their selfish moments. In Debbie's semi-defense, hers are ALWAYS in relation to Michael's. I think she made Brian's friendship with Michael obligatory and beholding in so many ways. I'm glad I'm getting a chance to rewrite that particular dynamic this time around. With Vic and Carl's help, she'll cut the umbilical cord which should have been discarded long since. I'm also happy to delve into the entire PTSD/ Trial arc! It always bothered me that they just 'accepted' the slap on the wrist given to Chris for what was basically attempted murder. I felt like had Justin dies, Chris still would have been given the barest minimum as a sentence with the rest served in parole, which would have taught him that it was okay to do what he wanted to another human and because he's well off, the laws of the land really don't apply. Believe me when I say that his punishment will certainly fit the crime this time in more ways than he bargained for but unfortunately I have to make B&J suffer a bit more to do it. The ends will justify the means though, I promise! *Hint: I never bought that B&J's problems after the bashing was solely because of Brian's non-communication. There had to be other unresolved feelings as well from Justin as well. And Ethan fit into that era of Justin's life. Mel won't always be good nor will she always be bad. In fact, I really thought her and Brian could have really developed a mutual respect for each other if not a solid friendship had Lindsay not been in the middle playing manipulative mindgames. No the work isn't entirely Anti-Lindsay nor is it Anti-Michael (no matter how much I'd like it to be) but this part of their personalities which was swept under the rug far too often and for far too long, is what I'll have the most fun exposing! As for Lindsay.... Although she likes Justin (sometimes), it is completely conditional. As long as he doesn't interfere with her thoughts and feelings about what Brian SHOULD be doing, everything is right in Lindsay's world. The major problem is that she cannot accept that she isn't the main blond in Brian's life anymore and although she doesn't mean to be jealous, she is. Michael and her both have the same problem only in different degrees.
I'm so glad that you are enjoying this story. Lots more angst to come but they will have some happy moments too!

Wonderfully long and involved chapter! I was completely sucked in the entire time. Admittedly I am currently at the office, but what others don't know won't hurt them!!! :)
I like the idea of the sidebars. I definitely want to read all the action going on there. Will Hobb's Russo, dixon, & Craig etc shoot themselves in the ass with their testimony? I know this new judge can't be bought off, but....
I can only hope that Debbie has really and truly seen things as they are. That Vic has really gotten through to her, and that she sticks to her guns. It's one thing to have an epiphany about Micheal, it's altogether another to stopp the cycle of enableing. I want her to have a life outside of the family! Carl will be good for her. Micheal is just going to have to suck it up.
I have to admit, Lindsey is kind of freaking me out. I've always known she's manipulative in her own way, and you get to elevate that in your fics. Something I enjoy immensely! :) How far will she really go though? And to what end? Inquiring minds want to know! :)
Micheal.......Micheal Micheal Micheal. No real surprise there. Another one who manipulates to their own demise. Yet....another one that is so enjoyable to watch it happen to, lol. There's always the hope that one day he'll grow up. But then again, watching him fall is such fun! (man....I'm such a bitch!! lol) I guess these stories are all an opportunity to read (of in your case write) vicariously!
Heart breaks for Justin and Brian. Poor Brian is suffering just as much. I hope you alleviate that soon. I think both he and Justin need a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. There's only so much a person can take.

Hey Elaine!! As always I love, Love, LOVE your reviews!! There is a lot of things that are going to happen throughout this fic. I really am enjoying writing this!
For Debbie, bad habits are hard to break and that includes cloaking and covering for her only child. But not to worry... Vic is going to make sure that although she may backslide from time to time, Michael will have to stand on his own and fight for himself. I think having Carl appear earlier than in the series will also facilitate that. And Michael will have plenty of rude awakenings on his journey to manhood.
Yes, Lindsay can be a manipulative and selfish shrew especially where Brian is concerned. At base, she likes Justin, but like Michael, she also views him as a threat to what she considers HER happiness. That all may change eventually once she gets to fully see the extent of Justin's injuries. Soon we'll get a POV from Justin that will also help explain just what Michael and Lindsay said or did that set him off. One thing is for certain, Mel, Emmett and even Ted will NOT allow her to delude herself into thinking that her acts are without egocentric motivations. The real question is will Brian and Justin be able to see them coming?
I'm so happy that you like the idea of the 'Sidebars.' I know that everyone would want to see the testimony as it happens. Hopefully although I can't promise, I hope that it will be followed up by a 'regular' chapter in the same day as well. You know what they say about the best laid plans...lol Russo's and the Pittsburgh P.D/ Stockwell comeuppance will come in the next Part of SOWK because they are on Federal levels which ultimately take longer to accomodate Depositions for but we'll catch glimpses of them here and there. Pluse there is another issue in which both of them will feature heavily (yeah...Brian and Justin have another crisis coming but it can't be helped- more about that later...much later and will ultimately be the reason for the Ethan fiasco). As for the others, they will face their music during Part I and that will include the DA. It should definitely be interesting to see them all answer questions about their roles in the cover-up...
It's a long road ahead but one I hope you'll find worth every moment!
