Hearing that Brian thinks he was an asshole means that he should do what he can to still avoid being him again.
At least he's smart to know he can't just accept the nauseating advances of Michael... stay strong B!!!

Now I understand. You've put everything in prospective. I like how Cynthia helps him in his professional life, which in a way he always kept seperate for his private life. Do you think knowing Michael was why he was such an asshole?

Everything we surround ourselves in our everyday lives will have an effect on how we think and feel especially when we are with them for quite some time. So, having Michael and everyone, (his parents included) have some effect on Brian in one way or another.
