Just started this story. I'm already hooked. I love how you portrayed The 4 friends, especially Michael.  I always considered him manipulative.  I did read your Story Notes beforehand, which were quite helpful. There was another story with this Plot Bunny, but turned out to be a crack-fic, at least in my opinion. So, I'm really interested in this, especially after reading this chapter...  Looking forward to the rest...

Of course Michael is the source of the problems, but non communication seems to be a bigger part of it...

Focusing on B and J (of course), is it that Justin has taken being pushed aside for Michael so often, he is just done?  Why can't Brian see what the issue is?  He blocks Mikey's voice out, but now he blocks everyone out?  them in turmoil makes me sad

Great intro and definitely lays out the premise of this new story of yours. Definitely one that will be WELL worth the wait for each update.

The counsellors definitely have their hands full with this lot. I get the impression that things are going to get worse before they get better.

What is it that has Justin so angry. I know Michael is a huge part of it. But he's been dealing with that for years now. Has said or done something to infer the Brian did something? or is it that he really has just had it and is too tired to continue without a reprieve?

Feel so bad for Ben. Michael hasn't changed  even after all these years? Why on earth did Brian just ignore Michael? why doesn't he tell him to mind his own business? why not stick up for Justin rather than just stay quiet?

For that matter, I was a bit shocked at Ted and Emmett too. I've always seen Emmett as the more reasonable one of the bunch. Able to see through Michael's crap and tantrums.

I like the letter idea the counsellors have and am looking forward to what you write there. I hope those are the starting points for them to start communicating. Even Ben and Michael in a way. I think for for the fact that I like Ben and want him to be happy, and perhaps if I'm to be honest, if Ben left Michael, then that would open the door even more for Michael to mope and try to have the others around him. I hope that really communication happens at some point. I think that comment couls just be spot on, that the other couples need to start healing so that B&J can as well. It's going to take Emmett and Ted seeing the harm that Michael is doing, for them to open their eyes and then to tell Brian what they are seeing as well.

All I know is I am already incredibly hooked. I can tell that this is going to be a fairly emotional story. I think I'll need to prepare myself at each update to go through the roller coaster of anger, frustration and possibly tears.

Amazing start!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers,

Elaine

Whoa!! What a start! I remember this plot and I'm happy you decided to work on it.

The pain is palpable for almost all friends, and some of the counselors. I bet the one dealing with Michael will have to be very patient.

It looks like Michael is the cause for them all being ordered into counciling.  The answer seems simple, get Michael out of the picture.  But how to do that without making him sympathetic?  If you put him in a coma, the only thing that would accomplish is having the others worry about him with the exception of Justin, Blake and Drew.
